EMDR is a fantastic therapeutic tool. I used EMDR to process a very difficult memory and damned if I can't think about that memory just like any other. It no longer brings me to my knees in tears & sorrow. EMDR is amazing & we are very lucky to have it in our toolboxes.

Wow & ouch. I'm guessing you've never been depressed enough to want to die. It's miserable. I, too, lost a summer boyfriend due to his drug abuse & his subsequent suicide. Although he was a low value male I can't say that I would ever be glad to see someone take their own life. Although low value as a boyfriend, as a friend he was fun to hang around with & normally brightened my day. I was very sad to hear of his death. Ouch! Reading that hurt. My (56) mother (79) had a horrible relationship with my abusive/mentally ill father. She never wanted kids so she did the expected against her will and had her kids one right after the other.
