You're back to using the "bodily need" definition like food or water. And I said "involuntarily celebate", meaning he can't get any. If he's getting some with you he's not involuntarily celebate. Unless of course you have a dead bedroom...then I'd ask "wtf?". I've lived my entire life up until now without it. I can't see why it would be so terrible to continue on with the same lifestyle. You're not a man. We literally have different biological drives regarding sex. As a woman you don't have horm…

Fair point. I'll take the lesson. I'll try to be more self aware in the future. To my defense I'm nuerodivergent (ADHD) I often misread or misunderstand some nuances in communication. My apologies to anyone for any confusion.

Can you point out to me how you think I'm being condescending? Seriously not trying to, so I wonder what about what I said sounds that way.

Ok I see we have different definitions of "need". You're defining it as "will literally die without it". I am defining a need more broadly: something you have to have in order to not cause you mental or physical health problems. Under my definition, a father figure is a need, but a "wealthy father" is a want. Sex is a "need" (seriously please try convincing me that a life of involuntary celibacy wouldn't cause you mental health problems), but really good sex with someone hot is a want. A relatio…

This is a false dichotomy. Let's stop with the distinction between casual dating and relationships. All relationships start casual. You don't know each other: all you have is physical/chemical attraction. You either want to bone them or you don't. If you "get into a relationship" with someone you don't want to bone: then likely you're using them for something else: provider/commitment/safety, and then sex becomes a tool for your manipulation. Again: you either want to bone someone or you don't. …

This is where I think your wrong. Sex should be there from the beginning as sexual compatibility grows with romantic compatibility. This isn't a buffet line but a banquet: you need all the food at the table at the same time.

Sex is a need for men AND women. If you don't believe that then you might be asexual. If you view sex as a chore and not a burning passionate desire, then you shouldn't be dating any men who see it just as much as a need as having friends or falling in love. Maybe she doesn’t want a boyfriend who sees sex as a need? To put this in your own format: "Maybe he doesn't want to be in a relationship with someone who views a relationship as a need." See how dumb it sounds?

So the only place where a 10 year age gap is reasonable is in a very traditional marriage. If a woman wants to be a housewife instead of going to college and building a career: her best financial plan is to find a traditional husband that is successful and well established in his careers. He needs to be older for this to happen: very few men have a decent amount of career success before 30 years old. So, yes if a young woman wants to be a traditional housewife, she better marry young: because in…

Oh I'm plenty horny. But porn and toys do enough for me to fulfill the addictive dopamine rush part of orgasms. The other part of sex maybe I just suck at sex (which doesn't surprise me I don't have much sex), but closeness, skin to skin contact, emotional experience: that can be only really that good in a relationship. I don't think casual sex is something very fulfilling. All you will get is the dopamine rush and maybe a small wiff of oxytocin. You get skin to skin contact, but it's empty and …

I'm a software engineer. I don't get laid cause I never go out. Tinder is a joke for anyone not a Chad. I could get a hookup on tinder if I wanted to fuck really disgustingly ugly women. But the average plain girl on tinder: she's looking for the chads, because "that'll do" is good enough for them. In real life, I have no idea how to get a hookup or cold approach a girl. I was never successful at it in college. Only time I was was with a really unintelligent dumb girl that happened to be a virgi…

This is weirdly fun, so let's continue our imaginary marriage negotiation: So yes let me clarify, alimony and child support are two separate things. But together they could not be more than 50% on paying spouse's post tax income. As to child support: absolutely it would be necessary. No question. But it would be a separate shared account that we both draw from and both contribute to. We would both contribute to it preportionally to our incomes (in the case of not working, alimony would be the pa…

70% of divorces are initiated by women fyi. Marriage is just a legal contract that makes things more complicated for no reason. You want to buy a house together, buy a house together as tenancy in common. You want an alimony agreement? Set that up as a separate contract that you both can agree the terms to. What I would put on mine: alimony is only to be granted if the following conditions are met: 1. Permanent Separation is due to proven and verifiable infidelity. 2. Spouse receiving alimony wa…

Not if you set it up as tenants in common. The buyout agreement is usually set up in advance, and most banks will absorb the buyout into his or her mortgage (whoever is keeping the home). It's not as difficult as it sounds.

Hi, so I share your boyfriend's viewpoint. So maybe I can provide some insight. I am all for getting married, but I do not want to get married. Let me explain: I want to settle down with someone, and maybe have kids. But I don't want to take the legal risk of marriage: possibilities of alimony, wife taking half my assets in a divorce, et cetera. So I would go through a wedding ceremony but I wouldn't sign a marriage contract. I don't want that hassle and I'd want to protect my assets. Not do I t…

Obligatory obvious distinction whenever anyone says nice guys: When people speak of "Nice guys" they are blending two definitions into one: Fake nice, but secretly an asshole. Real nice, but has lots of bad luck with other aspects in dating. Doesn't understand what he needs to improve about himself. Puts women on pedistool. Immediately treats any girl that gives him affection as a goddess. Doesn't really value the woman as an individual. Both of those suck. 1 is just trying to manipulate, and 2.…

So you at least agree with me on when consciousness comes about. Cool. As to dna: there's plenty of tiny fertilized eggs in IVF. But we throw 99% of them away after one forms a placenta. Well the body throws them away, we just jam then in there and see what sticks. Those fertilized eggs are "human" by your definition. So in your definition that's mass murder. In your definition plan B is murder. Please take time to understand the female reproductive system. And then we can talk about dna.

You probably work in a male dominated industry. Go to a female dominated industry there's plenty of cute nurses, plenty of cute teachers, childcare workers, receptionists, and whatnot. Typically (and this sub may give me flac but whatever), in a male dominated industry: if it's an office environment it's knowledge work. The guys in that environment care less about their looks. Women in that environment don't really see the guys as attractive either so they too don't care as much about their look…

I do. My real friends have literally been there since childhood for me. I could literally end up in prison one day and they'd be there with the bail money. If your friends judge you for experimenting with your looks: those aren't your friends. As to work....I'm not really one to dress up for work anyways so that's a non issue.

Dude a real man doesn't give a shit about what other men think of him. So I'm not sure what you're getting at. Women are the ones who fear being socially judged. Men are perfectly fine standing alone.

I think you're picturing obvious and pronounced makeup, rather than just subtle and natural looking. Most guys don't like it when ladies do that over the top makeup either. We like the natural look too.

I'm actually thinking for myself how I can subtly but unnoticeably improve my look. I've bought some makeup for men called "warpaint" (just a tinted moisturizer) and also bought a concealer stick (I'm in my 30s and occasionally get little skin issues like bumps and a tiny bit of acne), and a brow brush (make my eyebrows slightly darker / add volume). I also have a small beard that's a tiny bit too light in some spots, so I used the brow brush on that too and it seemed to make my beard (my beard …

Yes and that genetic makeup forms a prefrontal cortex. Without it you wouldn't of been able to type or think that thought sir. We, and a few other animals (all primates) have a prefrontal cortex: so I guess you could say more accurately that's what makes us primates. But a lot of the other brain parts: many other species have those, and they aren't special. But my point about the prefrontal cortex: that's where higher thought occurs. Planning, speculation, self awareness, emotional awareness (no…

Well marriage used to be more a religious think, attached to laws. Now more people are agnostic or atheists. So now marriage is not that great of a deal to many men especially if women are going to act self serving and vapid (80% of divorces are initiated by women, and something like 60% of divorces are because of female infidelity) So a lot of guys don't want marriage for that reason
/r/PurplePillDebate24/04/22 05:05 PM
1

Yes feminism has taken it too far. Instead of "let's have equal opportunities in laws and in the workplace" which I fully support, they have taken it to be "let's act entirely vapid and self serving as 'men' do" (which actually many men aren't vapid and self serving, plenty of good guys who want relationships; they ones that are most vapid and self serving are usually genetically blessed however).
/r/PurplePillDebate24/04/22 05:00 PM

I don't want children and I still desire sex and marriage. What does that make me? I think you're not thinking this through. You need to divorce your religious beliefs from sex itself. Sex isn't spiritual. Maybe it is, but that word is such a vague term it's meaningless fluff. A long term relationship is one where you legitimately feel love for the other person. Marriage is just a legal contract, nothing more. I have friends who've been with their partners for decades, but they just don't want t…

Anyways, yes to some degree you have the right idea. Just I think you need to be more discerning between casual sex and relationship sex. Good for you realizing this now. I don't think casual sex is fulfilling. I'm sure you've tried it too and hate it just as much. I do think that it's ok for people to have casual sex, but those who only date casually are doing themselves a disservice because they'll feel empty and vapid by the time they reach their 30s. Anyways yes it's fine for single people t…

Casual sex and sex within a relationship are NOT the same thing. Yes casual sex is shallow and basically enhanced masterbation. But having a one night stand is not the same thing as making love in a committed relationship. Not everyone wants to date casually or have casual sex. Some people do some people don't. Sex is also a biological need that doesn't necessarily align with where we are in life or society. Single men on vacation in Cancun might not be able to sustain a long distance relationsh…

Male in my 30s here. I've been one of those guys for most of my life. Not finding it success, and if there's one thing I've learned is that those us who struggle with dating don't want to swallow some hard pills (some or all may apply to you): You're not as attractive as you think you are. Being attractive takes making a genuine effort to become a more complete person and not just a shy guy online. You need a full life, a woman should only be complimentary to it. Many of us expect women to think…

The other trick I hate. The one that just pisses me off: is when they start with the waterworks to get their way. You could be having a perfectly rational argument, make solid points, and then when she realizes she has nothing she starts sobbing like a baby. Not a disengenous argument. It was only an argument on probabilities. If you truly felt you were in mortal danger, you would never drive a car, regardless of necessity. Which means you don't feel in mortal danger. By the transitive property, this means you to don't fear for mortal danger (or at least shouldn't) anything that is less probable than dying in a car acciden Also: they got planes, trains and cars, you can walk to Delilah if there was no other way🎶 It's not about feelings. That's a dumb rule of thumb. Not all ethics are strait forward. And it depends on which school of philosophy we're talking about. If we're machiavellianism, then it's 100% as long as it serves me, it's good. If we're talking about Kantian ethics: as long as the ends survey a greater good than the means, it's justified. If we're talking st Augustine: as long as it glorifies God or is harmless, it's justified. Ethics was never ever a mindless thing. Take a philosophy class or two.

Ok, no. As someone who's dealt with machine learning before, we have a very good definition of confidence. Take, IBM Watson (which I did some small parts of some stuff within Watson). When it plays Jeapardy, it has a confidence score as to how accurate it's answer (err question) is. That confidence score is a probability between 0.0 and 1.0 We're literally saying based on the machine learning algorithm, the answer is x, and the probability of that being the answer is 0.79 (for example). The funny thing about confidence: and this comes from red pill and blackpill stuff: Confidence is usually a manifestation of one's circumstances. Low self esteem is the same thing. If someone is constantly rejected, do you really think they're going to have genuine confidence? Heck no. He's likely to feel like shit about himself until he has a few consistent wins. Think about confidence in any other setting. Do you feel confident when you lose many many bowling games in a row? Of fucking course …

Men looking at you sexually is fucking biology. Honey I think you have some issues with how you view men. Maybe talk to a therapist. I mean this sincerely.

A gesture can be a kind gesture and it can be a nice gesture. Gestures are actions. Please tell me I'm not taking crazy pills.

Again you're speaking backwards. You find certain people attractive and certain people not attractive based on looks alone. That's not a lie, that's biology. Secondly I didn't say anything about lying to them, I said don't be an asshole. You know there's ways to communicate the same thing with kindness. And boy are you only thinking from you current perspective and your time and place in "now". Let alone when he leaves you and you find yourself 5 years older and less men are noticing you. You'll…

So a guy the perforce nice actions for you is different from a guy that performs kind action for you? I'm sorry but those are literally interchangeable words. I don't know why you're attaching special meaning

I understand trying to be assertive, but a simple "sorry I'm not looking right now " would suffice. Those phrases you used are assertive yes, but a bit hostile and aggressive. The nice guys will probably think the "absolutely not" to mean they're extremely unattractive. Damaging their self esteem, while completely unnecessary. The assholes will only invite more conflict with more aggression. Also, if your dream guy was by happenstance in the same bookstore as you and saw that behavior he would t…

So you associate kindness with actions. Sure. But I would also call your kind stranger a nice stranger too. He did a nice thing for you. Vs he showed you kindness. The words are interchangeable.

OK, if it's that same guy that keep harassing you, yes. But if a guy in general went up to you, kindly asked you if you'd want to get to know him. Would you still be mean? That's what I'm asking. Obviously if Guy A doesn't accept no and continues to persist, then I can understand. But if guy B then comes along and is a perfect gentleman, he should not be cursed at or mocked; he didn't do anything to you to deserve that.

So I use faceapp to tweak small things on my face: remove a freckle here or there, contour cheekbones to be more well defined, and make my face slightly skinnier or give myself a small tan. I do this so that I can see how it improves my matches on OLD apps. I only change things that I can change in real life without major plastic surgery. So adding bigger cheekbones? No. But can you add makeup to your face to make your cheekbones more defined? Yes. (Guys can wear some makeup. There are guys that…

No. Sorry. That doesn't excuse your behavior. You don't get to be mean and nasty to someone just because others didn't accept your rejections. Men are individuals. The current guy asking you out is not the previous person you rejected. They are not deserving of your hate and vitriol. Get that through your head. News flash: you're playing minesweeper no matter where you go. If you think there's some magical place where all women will welcome you hitting on them, that doesn't exist. Only chads get that kind of world and even they don't 100% get accepted. Stop living in a fantasy and just get the fuck out there and actually TRY. You seem to dismiss every single person here. Whatever magical place you're thinking of doesn't exist.

Farmer’s market? You’re trolling. There’s millions of posts about woman complaining about men trying to talk them at grocery stores, albeit not the same thing but similar. You need to realize the guy that listens to those posts and the guys that ignore them and proceed anyways: those are the ones who get the girl in the coffee shop, the girl in the grocery store. You should know by now that what women say they want and what they actually want aren't always the same thing. You should know by now …

Hold on. I said I insult them if they were mean to me to were essentially bullying with the rejection. If they were nice and treated me with respect, then no insults at all. It's a simple principle: you disrespect me you open the floodgates for me to disrespect you back. Is it the higher ground? No. But women also need to know that kinda behavior is not tolerated and is not acceptable. And no, kind and nice are synonymous in the dictionary. I think you're giving a bad faith argument to that comment. Clearly we're talking about guys who have the belief that being kind or nice (the words are synonyms, come on dude) and being a "classic gentleman" is the way to get dates. It's not disingenuous unless that's also not part of your personality in general. I'm kind and generous to everyone I meet. But I'm unsuccessful in dating. Do I insult a women who reject me? Lol I would not ask that. That would be a decision up to her. The most I would do is when I get home send a message "thanks for helping me and all your advice. I enjoyed the practice date, and getting to know you as well. If you're interested in being friends or anything, let me know. Until then, thank you and TTYL" That leaves an open invitation to contact me but it is not aggressively or specifically asking her out.

I'm not afraid of women. I'm afraid of more than 1 woman at a time that I don't know in a social setting like a bar but that's irrelevant. And why not? I get like 2 matches a month on OLD. 1 of them might might want to meet me for coffee. I'm not exactly getting 1000s of opportunities.

Well fake in the sense that escorts are far more willing to um do more than just a date. Boundaries and barriers are even less real with them (at least that's how I imagine. I don't really know) because you're paying them to allow you into boundaries and barriers they wouldn't otherwise consent to.

I would pay an escort to. But a.) I have no idea how to legitimately find one that doesn't involve going to red light district type area. B.) Her consent would be fake and not real to regular dating. Escorts have a different view on men than regular women do. It would be a very poor simulation on how an average woman would react. I like intelligent and career focused women (careers that aren't transactional with desperate men).

I've done the "your hands are so small compared to mine" thing to break that touch barrier. Is that inappropriate? And the neck, yes there are erogenous zones on the neck but I was moreso referring to the small of the back near the neck. As in a comforting pat on the back if they say something that needs sympathy. I have done the too much touch too soon thing...oddly that actually didn't work out too bad 30% of the time.

I suppose it's a tall ask. What if the guy compensated you for it like $100 per date or something? I have shitty dating skills. And advice from my female friends have been way too generic and stuff my grandma would say, that it isn't useful. Well nevertheless do you have any useful, actionable advice on how guys can do better on first dates?

Why do people always "read between the lines" and assume people are not what they say they are? I am a person that mostly trusts other people at their word as long as I don't personally put myself in an unsafe situation.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/04/22 05:57 PM

Exactly. Thanks man. Me particularly is only with strangers I find attraction to. I have no issue talking to regular strangers. Only in the context of dating do I become not so great. Also things like initiating touch (still part of a first date) I tend to do extremely awkwardly. (Again, I'm not even talking about even as far as a kiss, I literally mean pats on neck and other small things to break touch barriers is what I struggle with).

Lots of dating coaches I've found online are mostly in the red pill space. I don't want to get trapped in that rabbit hole as a lot of red pill people (not all) have a very "one size fits all" view on women and overgeneralize or they're basically PUA advice. I want an unbiased experience in the real world that doesn't rely on generalizations or misogynistic world views. Also, I just said they'd get compensated in the form of activities, food, et cetera. That's sweet of you, but I will still say That's probably still immoral if your intentions were not to actually go in unbiased. What would of been the more ethical approach: tell the guys ahead of time "hey I don't consider you to be my type, but I think we could both benefit from a practice date. Would you be OK with that?" Then no feelings would be hurt, and the guys know it's just for practice. I've done that a few times, and the girls that I practiced with were appreciative of my transparenc…

I mean isn't that morally questionable? I mean these guys aren't robots. They're real people with real feelings. I hope you at least kept an open mind when you were on those dates? There's a number of studies that show if you decide rather you like or don't like something before interacting with it, that will influence how much you enjoy that thing. Take eating at a new restaurant: if you hear a bunch of rave reviews before going to eat there, you will be more likely to enjoy the food, whereas i…

Dafuq? Someone that threatens suicide doesn't actually mean it. If they were going to off themselves they would legitimately be depressed and not actually care about anything in life. Suicide isn't some thing anyone can randomly decide. It takes a sustained period of ongoing depression. Basically someone who is going to kill themselves was already depressed long before they attempted it. So yeah this wad plain and simple manipulation. I was, as a child often the mediator and counselor for her emotions and irrational behavior (a role a 12 year kid shouldn't be doing). Insistence isn't necessarily a red flag. I mean if you're heavily crushing on someone, and all it takes is a couple more asks to get a date....that might be worth it. Think about a guy you've been crushing on heavily. Someone you were really into....would you say "well that's too bad" the moment he said no? Understood. Yeah but the subconscious behavior does apply though. If a woman is feeling good about herself she will be more likely to accept an invitation to a date than if she is having a bad day. If she instead got excluded or rejected she will feel less accepting of someone asking her out or trying to befriend them. (I'd be willing to bet this also applies if she's Hangry too). Basically good moods/ego create pro-social behavior, bad moods/ego create anti-social behavior.
