I’m not claiming to be RP. I said RP is BS.

“You remind me of people who say things you haven’t said. So I’m gonna judge you as having said those things.” Seriously? Why should I bother considering what you wrote and responding if you’re just going to put words in my mouth?
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/23 02:31 PM

Why do we need women to have three babies? With all the poverty and unsustainable energy use? We have too many people as it is
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/23 11:06 AM
2

Explain yourself then. You can’t claim someone was insinuating something and leave it at that. I don’t believe any of those things you wrote and would never say them.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/23 11:02 AM
1

Nothing I said suggests any of that.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/06/23 12:56 PM

I’m not sure I get how you’re dismissing all that. Are you saying because you personally have never seen the sex trade, it doesn’t exist? Don’t you realize how, as one human individual, limited your experience is?
/r/PurplePillDebate17/06/23 11:52 AM
2

No, that’s not what I’m insinuating. Context matters.

Everyone is more miserable. Picking feminism as the reason is ridiculous

If the guy has to ask for these things and then does ask for them, no it can’t be platonic. Platonic touches are spontaneous and known to be mutually wanted.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/06/23 10:29 AM

People like to make up cute words to write pulp articles about so they can sell their ad space. I don’t see how casual dating causes cognitive dissonance.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/06/23 10:26 AM
1

Why would you guess that? Why would a woman who wants sex and dates but doesn’t want to settle and commit want to be with just one man, any more than a man who wants the same things wants to be with just one woman?
/r/PurplePillDebate17/06/23 10:23 AM

In what sense ?
/r/PurplePillDebate17/06/23 10:12 AM

Not all women, but if that’s not what you’re leaving the country for, then why are you leaving the country? Do you figure your grandma is who these “passport bros” are searching for?

This really is the stupidest thing I’ve read all day. I hope you grow out of this, for your sake and the sake of everyone you encounter in the world.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/06/23 09:43 PM

No, it’s not. You’re stereotyping.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/06/23 09:42 PM

Yep sounds totally reasonable. All the women in the massive country of America are cunts and women in other countries are not. Thanks for clearing that up!
/r/PurplePillDebate16/06/23 09:02 PM

Because if they are, there’s no reason to go to other countries.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/06/23 08:48 PM

So you’re suggesting these guys are looking outside their country for love as an act of charity?
/r/PurplePillDebate16/06/23 08:47 PM
1

No, our nature is not the same and our emotions and behaviours are not the same. We’re individuals. Do you honestly believe that nonsense ???
/r/PurplePillDebate16/06/23 08:42 PM
-1

No it doesn’t. I never said it’s not possible in other countries. It’s possible all over the world.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/06/23 04:55 PM

Why wouldn’t we be here? The sub is called “debate” not “men only.”
/r/PurplePillDebate16/06/23 04:50 PM
1

Sorry wrong word. I meant oppressed. Corrected now.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/06/23 04:34 PM
1

You do realize that not all women are the same right? That we’re human individuals with unique personalities? Why do you talk like we’re a hive mind? You want to know what makes some men believe that being nice will help them with women? The answer is intelligence and morality. Why would you want someone who wants to be mistreated?
/r/PurplePillDebate16/06/23 01:59 PM
-2

I don’t think this is “sweeping” or a “movement.” It’s a vocal minority. But as for what I think of men who want oppressed women: they’re pieces of shit. Seek ethical, equal connection with your fellow humans or else go fuck yourselves.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/06/23 01:54 PM
4

No, it has nothing to do with instincts, nor with privilege or abundance. We are intentionally raised to have advanced social skills. Someone has to keep the community together while men go out and hunt.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/06/23 04:50 PM
2

Who are these women with then?
/r/PurplePillDebate02/06/23 01:25 AM
4

Your second point disproves your overall theory. It’s not that there’s more single men than women. It’s that women and men understand the word “single” differently. Ie there is no gap. Your first point — are you talking about polygamy?
/r/PurplePillDebate02/06/23 01:24 AM
1

Huh?
/r/PurplePillDebate30/05/23 12:17 PM

You didn’t say some. You said many. That’s the generalization I’m talking about.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/05/23 12:03 PM

Why would you bet that I call a bland or average looking person ugly? I mean… what am I supposed to do what that? Why even bother being here on Reddit if you’re gonna assume people are lying when they’re given no indication of such?
/r/PurplePillDebate30/05/23 12:46 AM
1

What does that have to do with this conversation?
/r/PurplePillDebate29/05/23 10:33 PM
1

“It’s not hard to understand” is such a weak and mean thing to say. Is that how you want someone who disagrees with you to speak to you? What should my response be now? I’m rubber, you’re glue? And framing whats going on in the states with abortion right now as about taxes of all things is so disingenuous. Yeah I’m done with this convo.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/05/23 10:30 PM
4

Body dysmorphia is an extreme mental illness. Not being as ugly as you think you are is not the definition of body dysmorphia. That’s like saying no one who isn’t a psychopath struggles with empathy.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/05/23 10:18 PM
-1

You implied “most” by rejecting OP’s “most.” And you said “many” men are as ugly as they think. Who are all these men you know the inner thoughts of that you can say that? There are 4 billion men in the world.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/05/23 10:17 PM
5

Do you genuinely believe that or are you trolling? Do you never go outside? Or are you rich yourself? I guarantee you there’s no one with money around when I step outside my door and there’s no shortage of ugly men and their women walking around.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/05/23 10:09 PM
-4

I don’t understand what you mean by those words. My point is that you’re finger wagging OP for generalizing but you too are generalizing.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/05/23 03:56 PM

“They’re dead weight,” you said. It’s an absurd claim, is my point. Children have massive value. We wouldn’t exist without them. Our society and biology drive us to create them. People steal them, buy/sell them, go to great lengths to adopt them. A significant chunk of our medical advancement has been to focus on how to make them, protect them in their fetal state, and birth them safely. Societies that let adults starve in the street provide free social services for children. The rights of adult…

How so?
/r/PurplePillDebate29/05/23 03:32 PM
11

But outlining it based on someone else’s anecdotal experience is wise?
/r/PurplePillDebate29/05/23 03:31 PM
3

Yes and before social media there was just media. Shows, movies, and ads, especially ads, all contributed to build the beauty myth which not only lines the pockets of the companies who sell beauty but also ravages our self-esteem, our acceptance of others, and our relationships. This is nothing new and it affects all of us. Men and women use social media almost equally.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/05/23 01:45 PM
1

Yes it’s hypocritical. Here’s the kind of girl you should want to be with: one you can trust. If you can’t be with a woman without trying to control her then you should not be with her at all.

Makeup, hair dos, hair removal, nail salon, skin and hair treatments, chemical peels and surgery, practicing how to sit, how to stand, how to walk, how to talk, clothes, accessories, etc etc etc. A LOT of effort and skill goes into “being pretty.” Sex when we don’t want to give it. Children that we don’t want. We are vilified when we don’t give these things on demand. This also takes a lot of mental, emotional, and physical energy. Where do you get your ideas from?
/r/PurplePillDebate29/05/23 10:21 AM
9

Yes, it is the same. There’s tons of traditionally unattractive men in relationships. Your view is skewed and fantastical. Open your eyes.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/05/23 10:06 AM

Women aren’t valued for what they are any more than men are. We’re all valued for what we provide. Men provide money. Women provide housework and children. All your observations have different reasons for why the world is like this. The “girl” in Physics Girl is emphasized because there are much less women in STEM fields than men. It’s not because being female carries value in itself. She’s calling out her sex because (1) it’s unusual in that context and (2) to try and encourage more girls to ge…

When something is forced upon you, sometimes your only defence is to embrace it.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/05/23 01:54 PM

It’s not really my point I was just repeating what the person above me said. My point is yes obv it’s a bad thing they’re doing but it happens anyway; saying it’s bad doesn’t change anything.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/05/23 01:52 PM
7

Yep it is more subtle 99% of the time. And those extreme times colour the more subtle interactions for us. If I let an innuendo go, or if I overlook the too long hug, what am I leaving myself open for? It doesn’t force us to be “in tune” in a healthy way. It forces us to be hyper-vigilant which damages everyone, men included.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/05/23 08:56 PM
6

That’s what the attention is, though. Even if it’s just honking like in the OP, it doesn’t feel good. We don’t “adjust” to it; we are damaged by it. Obviously it is predatory and they should be locked up but it’s incredibly common. I’ve never spoken to another woman about this who hasn’t experienced it too. (Which is not to say I’ve spoken to all women about it of course.)
/r/PurplePillDebate26/05/23 08:54 PM
3

Socially adjusted? Men hollering at us and showing us their penises when we haven’t even hit puberty doesn’t make us “socially adjusted.”
/r/PurplePillDebate26/05/23 07:21 PM

You realize I could just say the same to you right? What a useless thing to comment.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/05/23 09:40 PM

You figure how celebrities act is a sign of how normal people think and feel?
/r/PurplePillDebate24/05/23 11:48 AM

Ok let’s see it. Let’s start with this culture where women have a high degree of safety.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/05/23 04:35 AM
4

Our casual sex partners are less likely to kill us than our long term partners, so I can see why your first sentence might be true. I agree it’s likely that culture may be required for monogamy. After all, us women know our baby is bearing our genes. Evolutionarily speaking, we don’t care about monogamy. I don’t understand your last sentence tho.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/05/23 04:32 AM
1

Ah yes let’s look at one of the most restrictive cultures we know. Now let’s look at a permissive culture in comparison. What !?!? People don’t act the same in these cultures even tho women experience violence at the hands of men in both? Well, I never. I must be all wrong then. Why do you believe this would this would have led to less violence?
/r/PurplePillDebate24/05/23 04:25 AM
2

That’s not what you said. I was responding to what you said, not to the unspoken things in your head nor to whatever in particular you wished me to look at in your encyclopedia article. You: Violence is a negligible factor. Me: Nope.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/05/23 04:03 AM

Oh yes, ok I get it. 👍
/r/PurplePillDebate24/05/23 03:41 AM

Wut
/r/PurplePillDebate24/05/23 02:18 AM

Female selectivity is so high because male violence against women is so high. That’s it, that’s all. Has it gotten all twisted in our modern world so the connection seems tenuous? Yep. Is that still the connection at its root, though? Yes. Has that twisting happened intentionally to distract us? Unhuh.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/05/23 02:04 AM

It’s not healthy to need external validation like this. Recognize that women aren’t concerned about termites but rather rapists and stalkers, swallow your fucking pride, and grow up.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/05/23 11:35 PM
1

No, absolute bullshit. You’re making excuses.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/05/23 09:31 PM

I’m not offended that you’re asking, I’m offended that you’re ignoring the reason given. If you’re looking for more than one answer, why didn’t you say so? Why didn’t you engage with what she said at all. “Do you agree?” Etc.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/05/23 02:45 PM

Woman tells you right there in the video why people find it offensive. You’re gonna straight up ignore the woman you’re linking to and think I’m gonna give you the time of day with another answer? You’ve shown what you’ll do: ignore it. So no, I won’t be doing that.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/05/23 11:13 AM

I didn’t say they are.

/r/PurplePillDebate12/05/23 08:17 PM

We are oppressed. So are you. And you’re playing right into their hands with your misogyny. Open your eyes, man. I’m not asking for sympathy. I’m asking for intelligence and self-awareness.

What do you mean?
/r/PurplePillDebate12/05/23 05:59 PM

I don’t understand what you mean.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/05/23 05:57 PM

Everyone. What are women most highly praised for? Beauty.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/05/23 05:39 PM

It’s not bullshit. Why do we wear so much makeup? All the fancy clothes and salon treatments? And what are men doing while we’re busy with that shit?
/r/PurplePillDebate12/05/23 05:38 PM
19

Do any of those talk about the impact of gendered socialization? Women are raised to shut up and look pretty. Men are raised to speak their mind. I’m not sure why anyone would be surprised to learn humans do what they’re raised to do. I mean wasn’t that the whole point?
/r/PurplePillDebate12/05/23 05:20 PM
2

The opposite is just as true.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/05/23 02:41 AM

An extraordinary case that in no way counters the statement you quoted.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/05/23 04:24 PM

Those are the same things in this context. Like I said, it’s a direct consequence of it. Dismantling the gender norms established by the current power structure — which is the same power structure that has been in place for like ever — is the solution to your problem.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/05/23 07:13 PM

The connection is that it’s a reversal. The rule of virginity applies only to women, so what’s the rule for men? The opposite. And if women are shamed for not following the rule for women, then men should likewise be shamed for not following the rule for men. Men do it to reinforce the rules. Women do it for petty vengeance. All of this is right now. The patriarchy, sexism, and gender norms are not just a “back then” thing.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/05/23 03:31 PM
-1

You are fighting me/women by claiming this is “gynocentrism.” The real enemy is the current power structure.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/05/23 03:24 PM

What does voting have to do with anything I said?
/r/PurplePillDebate09/05/23 12:02 PM
-3

Virgin shaming for men is a direct consequence of sex shaming for women which was deliberately put in place by the patriarchy to keep women under control. You did this to yourself. Or more accurately: other men did this to you. Now stop fighting us and fight the real enemy.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/05/23 11:20 AM

Men have more social capital especially when it comes to laws and the beliefs of other men so no, we do not have as much power as you to prevent rape. Edit - Who has more power to change a violent situation? The victim or friends of the perpetrator?
/r/PurplePillDebate09/05/23 10:51 AM

Women are responsible for keeping men’s homes, cooking for them, washing their clothes Women are responsible for supporting men emotionally and psychologically and socially; for standing by them and not speaking against them even when they are wrong Women are responsible for reproducing and raising babies for men and for society at large Women are responsible for giving men their bodies for sexual satisfaction Of course I don’t believe any of this. All humans are responsible to be decent to othe…
/r/PurplePillDebate09/05/23 10:50 AM

When you want to know who is responsible for something, consider who benefits from it. So who benefits from the beauty industry? You really think it’s you? All the time and money and energy you spend on how you look, of all things. You’re the one profiting from that?
/r/PurplePillDebate06/05/23 03:37 PM

You legitimately think that the ratio of men who complain about no sex on social media vs those who brag about getting laid on social media is representative of the ratio of men getting laid vs not laid overall?
/r/PurplePillDebate05/05/23 06:40 PM

A bad period. It can be debilitating. And just think, many of us get it for a couple days every month.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/05/23 04:47 PM

Yeah it is
/r/PurplePillDebate02/05/23 10:24 AM

Because it contributes to this way of thinking about romance and love and sex as a list of desirable traits rather than connection between unique individuals. Just look at all the nonsense posts on here about people striving to meet some list of fictional ideals and still failing to meet anyone and all the frustration and anger and blame it sparks.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/05/23 04:42 PM

The thing is, I don’t think it is lighthearted, I think it’s destructive. I don’t want to scroll past because I want to call it out.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/05/23 12:12 PM

This is stupid. Do you want a fantasy creation or do you want to connect with a real human? What is the point of this exercise? It’s just another version of MASH. Grow up.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/05/23 11:59 AM
2

No. What is disgusting and threatening is when a man is aggressive about it, invading my space, not leaving me alone when I’ve made it clear I’m not interested in talking. And the reason it’s disgusting and threatening isn’t because he’s “low value” or some other nonsense, it’s because his aggressiveness and disrespect for my boundaries remind me of rape.

You’re shocked that manipulative people can trick people into believing things that aren’t true? I think that’s more reflective of your naïveté than of the common perspective. If it’s not widely acknowledged as part of the problem that’s only because it’s taken for granted that it is. When we talk about abusive husbands should we belabour the point that their abuse works? Or is the point more about understanding why women don’t leave immediately and what we can do to help them? The point of pick…

Ok fair enough. But all those examples are using data stored on your phone/computer or, in the case of the open source YouTube app, a commercial enterprise. Who will pay for the storage of everyone’s account info?

It’s one of thousands of attempts And in effect perpetuate the system you claim to hate. How about fight it instead? This isn’t “how women work.” It’s how many humans work who’ve been indoctrinated by traditional gender norms.

Are those direct quotes? I know someone else asked this but who are these women? And where does your 90% come from? I read the article you linked to and it is about the ick phenomenon but it doesn’t relate to anything else you’ve said. I am sceptical of what you’re saying but I do agree with you in a general way that some women are turned off by behaviours that aren’t traditionally masculine. But, like, yeah, obviously? No one anywhere said that women aren’t susceptible to believing in tradition…

As a lesbian with some light hetero tendencies, my ideal for both sexes is the same: Tall, long and thick dirty blonde hair, blue-grey eyes, slim and muscular, and “interesting” facial features. Alexander Skarsgård is the prettiest male version of my ideal, as far as facial features go, but my ideal doesn’t require pretty and even includes faces other people typically find kind of ugly but I find them very sexy. I am a tall woman. I have dated people shorter than me but I’m more comfortable when…

The experiences of eunuchs? You’re talking about thousands of years ago? How can you presume to know their interests? Have any evidence to back this up? I’ve known two women who’ve had their ovaries removed and they continue to love their husbands very much [edit] and it’s not financial support or children. One is remarriage and they don’t have children together. The other, children are in their 40s. And for both, they are financially independent.

/r/PurplePillDebate06/04/23 01:42 AM

The vast majority of beautification is shame-based. “Fix yourself,” is the message. It’s great if you’ve managed to side-step that, and if there’s some way to preserve makeup for people like you — to keep the baby and just throw out the bathwater, as it were — then I’m all for it. But as-is, it’s doing a ton of damage to people and society. Something has to change and I don’t see how opening the gates for men to join in will help that.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/04/23 12:43 PM
1

Oh ok. Well in that case I strongly disagree lol. The answer is to destroy the beauty industry completely. Just think about who it benefits. And about all the time and money and mental energy you spend on enhancing your looks — what else could you spend that on?

My advice is actionable. Approach every woman like an individual, curious to learn about her, and you will have a better chance of making genuine connections than by caring about trends. If you are right and OP just wants to understand trends, why then is he confused about different women saying different things? “Each of their long list of demands contradict each other.” Yeah, naturally, because we don’t share a hive mind. I don’t buy it. I think you’re reinterpreting OP falsely. If OP wants to…

I don’t understand any of it. I was very upfront about that. Learn grammar. It’s not “short sentences” that you’re writing. They aren’t sentences at all, they aren’t even complete thoughts.

Did you put this comment in the right place? It makes no sense in relation to what I wrote. And I wasn’t referring to you, I was quoting the comment above me, the one my comment is posted in response to.

If a man points out… But OP isn’t that man; at least not in this post. My response was to the OP. Why are you taking my response and putting it in a different context?

The ways in which women are made to be complicit in their own subjugation is a complicated topic. I would say they did good things and bad things in a mixed up world. They faced a lot of very difficult choices. I don’t blame them. We all do what we can. The OP however could very easily have chosen not to infantilise the women in this story. Super easy choice to make. And he made the wrong one.

I don’t believe that’s true. And even if it is, what good does knowing that do? You never know if the person you’re interested in is one of the “most” or not. So either way you have to approach every person as an individual. When it comes to public policy and such, sure, trends matter. You have to make decisions that impact a group of people do you should do what’s best for most of them. But when it comes to meeting people, to interpersonal relationships, trends are irrelevant.

I’m sorry, but I can’t understand what you’re saying. I tried to read your comment several times but you’re not writing sentences, which makes it very difficult and frustrating to try to understand you. It’s like a bunch of half-thoughts strung together. Your general point, if I understand right, is that women are the same enough that the OP’s question is answerable? I abjectly disagree. I meant what? That I think you’re only trying to target men? If that’s what I “meant” why is that the last thing I said in my second comment? No. I suggested it as a possible alternative to what I’d so far understood to be true — that you’re trying to reach everyone. I meant what I led with, not what I threw out as a possibility later on. I’m sorry you haven’t had success by being neutral. Maybe post asking about that. I don’t know why that hasn’t worked. If you ask, I’ll think about it. But ins…

I didn’t draw that conclusion. The first conclusion I drew is that you’re trying to reach everyone. That’s why I offered you the advice to change your approach. Because, in my opinion, for reasons I’ve explained, your current approach will not be successful.

Yes, defending men is what you’re trying to do. But if you’re also trying to reach a universal audience and not just men exclusively, then my point is you’re taking the wrong approach. If you are trying to reach men exclusively then you’re in the wrong sub.

I don’t think you or anyone else will achieve anything ever with this line of thinking. You can acknowledge all the awful things that happen to people and the terrible system that made them happen. You don’t have to compare sizes. Is it worse for us or for them? Is it equal? This kind of talk breeds nothing but pain because it makes people feel invalidated. Independence is better than dependence. Intimate friendships are better than no intimate friendships. Knowing how to cook and clean is better than not knowing how to cook and clean. Being trained in everything is better than not being trained in everything. That’s how your argument translates to “women have it better.” And just untrue. We aren’t trained to be independent or trained in everything, like with the examples I already gave.

I know you didn’t blame women but my point is, since we’re not the enemy, you should drop the sex comparisons from your arguments entirely. They don’t serve you. Going on about how women have it better than men in this way or that way is a kind of attack. Don’t attack other victims. You’ll just end up saying stupid, incorrect, and offensive things like “women are trained to be independent.” Your point shouldn’t be that we have it better. Your point should just be about the ways you have it bad. …

Women are not trained to be independent. We are trained to need men. An older, unmarried, childless woman is still very much presented as a scary/sad/ugly thing in today’s monoculture. We are trained to need beauty. So we spend our time, energy, and money on makeup, fashion, haircuts, diets, treatments, and surgery for the sake of looking good to other people — instead of on things that make us happy; instead of on developing independence. I think a lot of what you say about how men are treated …

Some people have natural social skills. For them, it’s “not that deep,” they “just talk,” and everything works out. Maybe thats how you are and that’s cool. But do not tell us you’ve never met someone who’s socially awkward and needs to learn some. Because then we just know you’ve never left your parents basement and you’re full of shit.

After a bit of chit chat and you’ve gauged her interest, sure. But not as an opener. It’s very forward. No one has ever asked me this as an opener but any man who has asked me this too soon gets a fake name while I try to get out of there. And when the time is right you don’t say “what’s your name.” You say “I’m John” (or whatever your name is) and you wait. It’s called etiquette. It’s been around for hundreds of years.

You’re acting like it’s either/or. It’s not. Women are oppressed. What a dumb ass thing to refute! But that doesn’t mean men aren’t. Fight for your rights. You don’t have to tear other oppressed people down to do it. That’s “what you can do.” Stop fighting women. We aren’t the fucking problem. Other men are. Fight them.

My argument is not anti-abortion. My argument is that adults should have full rights over their body. Men and women, equal rights. That’s the opposite of anti-abortion. Men can’t have abortions, so they don’t get the second chance decision about reproduction that women do. This isn’t a matter of law or politics. It’s nature. As for your tone: seriously? Grow the fuck up.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/03/23 04:34 PM

If you are upset about how many men kill themselves and are homeless, then fight it. Advocate. Etc. Instead you’d rather spend your time complaining about how women have it easier? Disingenuous bullshit. Age-old misogyny masked as compassion for men.

I’ve never insisted anything about universities or employers or engineering or software. I’ve said nothing about equal pay for athletes. You’re mixing me up with someone else. Men do not have zero reproductive rights. They have and should continue to have 100% right over what they do with their body. Don’t want to reproduce? Don’t have sex. reduced physical requirements for women to be hired in jobs Example?

No one is free to walk around soaked in urine. There would be consequences. Social ostracism at the very least. Getting pregnant doesn’t entitle women to additional rights. Men also should have rights to decide what to do with their own bodies. All humans should, regardless of sex. The difference is that only women’s bodies can have babies in them. That’s not a difference of right, it’s a difference of nature. Your pension argument just doesn’t make sense. Pension and retirement has nothing to d…

No, it’s absolutely not. The attitude you’re talking about is the patriarchy which refuses to acknowledge male vulnerability. It has zero to do with the point I’m making. To make myself crystal clear, I’ll add the word “consent” to my comment.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/03/23 01:35 AM

They can claim their pension earlier, anyone can. You just get less of it. How much pension you have has nothing to do with how much time you have left, it’s about how much time you’ve put in. But ok, let’s say your analogy is apt. No, they shouldn’t, for the exact same reason women can’t go about with urine-soaked clothes. For the exact same reason men can’t have abortions of their own. It’s like you’re proving my point.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/03/23 01:16 AM
1

I get what you’re saying but fundamentally I am against compromises on some things. We need to fight for what’s right, and in this case what’s right is that women should be allowed to have abortions and men must be held responsible for [consensually] impregnating women who choose not to. [Edit for clarity]
/r/PurplePillDebate11/03/23 11:54 PM

The argument is flawed to begin with. The only appropriate response is to point out the flaw. You’ve pointed out part of it: abortion is not a walk in the park. But there’s more to it. Equal doesn’t mean exactly the same. Men also have opportunity to avoid pregnancy: they can not have sex. Women just happen to have a second chance that men don’t get. It’s not unequal, it’s nature. Think about it: Men can pee quickly and easily because of nature. But no one is suggesting we let women off the resp…
/r/PurplePillDebate11/03/23 11:42 PM

No, I’m not. That’s the point of my question. A woman who has personality traits that society stereotypically assigns to men — traits that fall outside of loose, rough, sweeping generalized trends associated with women — is not an exception to a rule. It’s just normal variance. She is just as feminine as any other woman. Because the only thing feminine means, in the context of adult humans, is woman. If she has enough biological traits that we call her a woman, then she is feminine. Another exam…
/r/PurplePillDebate11/03/23 04:16 AM

/r/PurplePillDebate11/03/23 12:20 AM

Sure, but influence and dictate don’t mean the same thing. I mean, the influence of hormones is maybe enough to make trends but it’s not enough to make a rule. And if it’s not a rule that all women are something, then how can you say that something is feminine? Put another way, what I wrote in another comment: I don’t think “some level of influence” has relevance here. The OP asks what is feminine/masculine. It means nothing to me other than the traditional stereotype. Sex does not dictate personality. So ok I guess if it means anything to me then it means sex. It’s feminine to have a vulva and vagina. It’s feminine to have larger nipples than men. It’s feminine to have two X chromosomes.

It’s an unreasonable request to make. Unlike monogamy, which is a reasonable request to make. Problem 1. It’s an attempt to blame other people for your own psychological issues. She’s not doing anything wrong, but she is the one who needs to change? It’s an attempt to manage your issues by controlling other people, rather than owning and fixing your issues inside yourself. Problem 2. Splitting your partner off from their community is like psychological abuse 101. Come on now.

Not being a fan of her talking to other men is a you problem. Find a way to get over it. Control YOURSELF, not her. She isn’t doing anything wrong. And the intention of the other men is irrelevant. You’re not in a relationship with them.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/02/23 10:40 PM

I won’t “calm down” with it. Trying to control someone’s platonic interactions with other people IS abusive. What is the problem, exactly? Do you think she’s having non-platonic interactions? If yes then the problem isn’t social media, it’s that she’s not being monogamous. And if that’s the case, then putting her phone in the drawer isn’t going to help. She’ll find other ways. What next, lock her up in the closet?
/r/PurplePillDebate24/02/23 10:32 PM

Trying to control your girlfriend’s actions is not an appropriate response to your feelings. It’s abusive, actually. If you don’t like something that someone is doing, you can and should tell them what you feel and think about it. This gives them the opportunity to decide, with their own free will, if they want to change what they’re doing or not. And if they don’t, that gives you the opportunity to decide, with your free will, if you still want them in your life or not.
