The complicated situation is that one doesn't want to punish the child, but how would one only punish the mother without punishing the child? Perhaps taking the child from the mother (when its a baby and can't tell the difference) and adopting it to a law abiding couple would be a start.

But when more men are forced to pay alimony (ehem, 97%), it's all gravy, and in fact, it is men's fault for being successful. I never claimed it was anybody's fault. I said that the person with the highest paycheck tends to pay to settle the balance. Because of how families generally work; that role falls on the dad. On the otherhand, because there are more women now able to earn a good living and be a mom, there are more women who have to pay.

Irrational collectivist confirmed. The rules are supposed to apply to everybody equally. The fact that there are different outcomes do not prove inequality. There might be issues in the system that specifically targets men, if so, it should be delt with, but the fact that unequal results exist is not proof that the game is rigged.

Men generally work more in a heterosexual family unit, therefore because they generally have bigger paychecks; they are more likely to be the one that doles out to the other party. This system doesn't stop women from paying alimony and child support, but because of other factors; it is less likely to happen. I assume you are refering to the American declaration of independence which happened in 1776. I am refering to the french revolution that began in 1789. Even though the American revolution is an earlier event it doesn't fit as it isn't European. Introducing the American war for independence would be a mistake as is in many ways is of no relation to the events 0f 1848, while the french revolution does have such a connection.
