See its from city to city. I, in phoenix, take no pride in my vehicle, however riding the bus to work would require at least an hour and a half each way to work, in my car it takes a maximum of 30 minutes in heavy traffic. Not to mention bus tickets are at least 4 bucks per ride or day, don't recall.
