new lawyer asap

The entitlement of women is fukin nuts lol, with so much money involved I would probably consult with some other lawyers. It’s also mind boggling that a completely amicable divorce costs $7600, I paid a third of that and fought my exwife for a year but my lawyer basically did nothing and I got screwed. So guess you get what you pay for but even so an amicable divorce is just filling out paperwork and getting judge to sign off doesn’t justify such a high amount.

That’s a pretty damn good deal, I would take it and run Also get everything in writing, notarized and signed off my lawyer so she can’t go back on her word after you move out

This is the way, gotta weigh your options. Could end up spending 1-2 years fighting with her and $20k+ on lawyers making the whole thing a waste of time.

My exwife didn’t have social media at all when we started dating in 2016. Then she got FB and it was all downhill from there, her whole life revolved around taking pics and portraying how “wonderful” her life was. She also accused me of cheating because I “searched for an ex gf” meanwhile I found out after the divorce she had multiples ex’s she was in contact with through FB. So after that experience I look for women who have social media but are not completely consumed by it and post very littl…

The more you get lawyers involved, the more money you will waste. If she is actually amicable it will 100% be worth it to settle asap and move on with your sanity and some money in your pocket.

Wonder when there will finally be some regulations put in place for these greedy lawyers.

Women are broken these days.

Option 1: do not get married, no point in it anymore at all Option 2: pay the $1-2k to get a good prenup drawn up Money changes everybody, especially women. The relationship may be wonderful now when you’re young & broke but in 10 years when your business/career takes off your perfect wife may decide to cash out and take everything you worked so hard for. Actually even with prenup you may be stuck with alimony after being married 10+ years depending on state so I’d say just stick with Option 1, …

I don’t trust lawyers one bit. For every “honest lawyer” there are 10 douchebags that will drag out divorces and/or keep them as contested as possible to keep racking up the fees. Extremely corrupt racket
/r/Divorce_Men22/08/24 01:12 AM

Very well said!
/r/Divorce_Men21/08/24 11:55 AM

Yea very little details to go off of here but if OP is paying $300k legal fees he should have a top notch attorney that can put an end to all this Tom fuckery. May be time to get new eyes on the case if the current attorney can’t handle things
/r/Divorce_Men11/08/24 03:52 AM

This is the best solution I’ve heard, great idea even just a required prenup would solve most of the problems.

Agree with all these posts. It’s so wild my mom who has been married almost 40 years keeps encouraging me to get married again. I’m just like you have no idea how lopsided marriage is for dudes these days. Tried to explain it a few times to no avail she still thinks there’s “some good women out there” yea sure until they have a bad day, friends get in their head, want to “live their best life” etc etc etc and then they not so good anymore and it’s back to good ole divorce court. Thats a hard pas…

Imagine charging somebody $40k and not getting a damn thing resolved. Just a normal day for a divorce lawyer. What a joke
/r/Divorce_Men08/06/24 02:05 AM

Fuck that judge. $900k house that was your moms and you don’t get any of it? Hell naw, that does not compute

To be blunt: what in the actual fuck are you thinking?

Sorry this happened but how tf is she banging multiple dudes for 4 years ON YOUR SECURITY CAMERA? And you had no idea? That part makes no sense

What a selfish & shitty person she is, good luck

Yup society and divorce courts have done a great job at getting us to hate the opposite gender and accept divorce as the norm these days. Sad times we live in

I’m at 2 years also and feel almost the exact same way. I am able to go to the gym a few times a week and that definitely helps but only temporarily. At the end of the day I just keep telling myself my exwife has had 2 years to change her mind and if she is that adamant on not being a “happy family” and trying to fix things then there is no changing her mind. I don’t have an answer but feel your pain. Hoping over time it gets easier.

I would have been cool with that too lol, I had nothing to look forward to just more yelling over ridiculous things.
/r/Divorce_Men02/08/23 07:19 PM

This is just a basic normal woman these days 🤣🤣 they all crazy But at least you get make up sex after the fighting, my ex would yell & scream then not talk or be cold for 3 days.

Gotta be a little more specific there…

Was gonna post this, glad somebody else thinks that way too lol. So many loser dudes out there that will date any woman with a pulse

The fact that lawyer prices vary so wildly from $500 to $500,000 for the exact same process is a very clear indicator of how corrupt and broken the divorce racket is. That would be the same as charging someone who makes 6 figures $200,000 for a Honda accord and then charging a minimum wage worker $10,000 for the exact same car. Complete and total scam lol

1) there’s always two sides of the story, it’s extremely rare to hear a woman say “my ex husband was a great guy” because that makes them looks bad (why would they leave a great guy?). They always say he was toxic, abusive, etc buts that’s very rarely the whole truth 2) if she has married and divorced once she will not hesitate to do it again, then you will be the guy she is trash talking. Don’t get married to her!
/r/Divorce_Men02/07/23 08:26 PM

Exactly, thought he was talking about my ex wife too. They are all the same

“God complex, no accountability, compares you & fam to her ex’s, mad about silly things for days” Sounds exactly like my ex wife it will only get worse and 10x worse with a kid involved. A lot of those traits are narcissism/bpd, my ex had a lot of trauma from her childhood I wasn’t fully aware of and it all came out on me & my family. Good luck

90% of women on dating apps are either batshit crazy and/or have a ton of baggage. You can get lucky and find a few diamonds in the rough but don’t hold your breath. Set your expectations very low and just have fun.

It’s real hard for me to wrap my head around 30 chickens, 2 goats, birds, etc running around in a $500k house. That’s fukin wild, pretty sure any judge would look at pic/vid evidence and give you full custody and send her to live in a mental institution, maybe one on a farm. Good luck!

None, I bought it with my Gi bill so no money down

Seems like such a huge factual error would make the agreement null & void. We made an agreement on something that was stated as “marital property” which technically should not have been considered marital property as it was purchased solely in my name before the marriage occurred. Not sure how this will play out, got consultation with new attorney next Tuesday.
/r/Divorce_Men22/09/22 03:54 AM

I gotcha, that’s a big part of the problem with my current lawyer. I was EXTREMELY meticulous and spent a week preparing 3 folders of documents I took into mediation. My lawyer was 2 hours late and instead of looking at my documents we spent 2 hours arguing over net vs gross income. This whole experience has been a nightmare I should have found a new lawyer months ago we are just not on the same page with anything.
/r/Divorce_Men20/09/22 01:04 AM

Yes was incorrectly listed as marital asset.
/r/Divorce_Men19/09/22 05:00 PM

Sure I’m open to any contrarian opinions. I filled out the financial disclosure and it had sections for “marital” and “non marital”. I incorrectly assumed the house was marital because we moved in while dating and then later got married. At time of purchase I was the only person listed on the deed & mortgage.

Thanks, yes I’m assuming I will have to Pay her SOMETHING, I’d be fine splitting appreciation. Hell I even offered giving her the house free and clear at the very beginning but she said that wasn’t enough and demanded I pay her $500/month too. I just want to turn the tables and finally take control of this train wreck. I’ve spent $25k on rent waiting to resolve this when it should have and could have been sorted out months ago if I was dealing with a rational woman which is apparently becoming h…

I also want to try and get things adjusted because I settled for 40/60 custody but my exwife is always expecting me to watch our child when she is sick or school is out. Everything about the situation is completely one sided and I’m tired of it

I’m on the opposite end. My lawyer is completely worthless and has basically done nothing to help me out so I haven’t even gone over my measly $2500 retainer meanwhile my ex has racked up between $5-8k on her bulldog lawyer that is the same way, filing motions, going above and beyond so he can keep charging her and all the while telling her she is getting the “friends & family discount”. Whole system is a complete joke I just want it over and done with asap at this point

Seems to be the way it goes these days. Women do whatever they want and men & kids suffer the consequences. Never getting married again myself, I learned my lesson.

I feel the same way man, and have been with a handful of woman since my divorce so you right going to escort won’t help lol

I’m in a very similar situation too. VA loan, stbxw still in house. My attorney said if we go to trial judge will most likely order us to sell it. I’ve tried offering to buy her out, sell house, or she can refinance and buy me out. She is not willing to negotiate and dragging things out too. Benefits her to just stay put for as long as possible while I go broke paying for $1600/month apartment. Sucks but not much I can do until we go to mediation or trial.
/r/Divorce_Men03/03/22 02:54 PM

Lol I’ve been giving this a lot of thought lately too. I’m almost 37 will definitely get snipped soon, kinda want to leave options open until 40 but we’ll see

My STBXW is a narcissist by all accounts and went to a social worker who convinced her I was the narcissist. Just want to be done with her but she won’t do any negotiating without lawyers involved.

I spent $3k a month on bills and never complained, now she “pushed me away” blames me for divorce and is stressed out and blaming me that she has to pay for everything on her own. /womanlogic
