I wouldn't date someone in that situation, but I when I do purchase a home, it will have a separate area for rental income so someone else can basically pay some or all of my mortgage related expenses. I've rented rooms for years and the majority were owners getting their mortgage payments covered so they had more disposable income.

My advice is don't involve a middle person, Bob. You value his relationship. Its fine to ask how they're doing, but even though it is right to alert a woman that her boyfriend may be cheating, I feel it's just negative gossip to have that talk with Bob. My stbx has all the signs of sleep apnea. There's a sleep clinic that his insurance pays 100% of, but he refuses to go. "I don't want to wear a mask while I sleep!" I can't watch anything about this case without falling apart. I conceived my baby a few months after these murders and looked into it in disbelief while pregnant. What would happen? I don't really know and that scares me. I could be honest with my dr office over the phone, since I would have plenty of time to contact them when he's not home.
