Native english speaker. Had to look up what "take it offline" means yesterday http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Take%20it%20off-line For humour, I'm a sysadmin for this company... where taking things offline means something very explicit.

But not Amazon Prime Canada... I paid to try. Also, not amazon prime american content available internationally. Had a subscription to try. It could be that Amazon prime Canada didn't have it because I still had Amazon Prime USA connected as Canada... With Justin Trudeau pushing feminism, I feel now more than ever, Canadians need an easy access way to watch The Red Pill. This isn't to say our prime minister is all bad, actually he's mostly good, and fantastic in international relations.

Oh yeah, thoughts are just crazy. We think about crazy shit all the time. People have probably thought of killing me. Even a loved one, just randomly. Or me killing them. Eh. There's real world consequences, such as that more attractive people are seen as more trustworthy: http://journals.plos.org/plosone/article?id=10.1371/journal.pone.0025656 Funnily enough, this study directly contradicts the statement by the article "By contrast, women are often reduced to sexual beings, and their worth judg…

Oh I agree, in 99% of cases on all sides it shouldn't be an issue. I also agree that straight men seem to be the ones that get the flack for this natural thing. And I agree that feminists make a huge deal out of it. I'm just trying to gather where it becomes an issue, which is when you no longer see the person underneath. In day to day western walks of life I don't see this happen. People are still unwillingly objectified and used in Illegal sex trade, which seems to be what makes prostitution l…

I'm still trying to gather my thoughts on this so bear with me. It seems to only be an issue when the objectification over-rides that of the substance of the person. The goal, personally, is to have the substance of the person be tied to their identity - which objectification can harm. That leads to a lot of gray, for a few reasons: In the case of actors (movie, TV show, etc), being objectified for outside traits seems to be a reasonable goal. In reference to the above (#1), ignoring the substan…

I know your comment is old, but I think it's because there's a lot of controversy/concern over whether or not it might be making suicide glamorous (thereby causing people to commit suicide when they normally wouldn't).

So... not in Canada, it seems. Daring Docs seemed like a pretty cool subscription.

Would the women on dating sites be generally uglier than the status quo too? Edit: Just want to note that I think you brought up a good point.

Good way to turn me from a proponent of Netflix to an opponent. But they are free to do what they want.

Trying to find how many guys are killed, but this is deliberate avoidance of mentioning guys. Is there a religious reasoning behind this? Lets take a look at an article: 781 civilians killed... The report breaks down the death toll of January 2017 where Syrian regime forces killed 346 civilians including 48 children (two children are killed every day) and 37 women. Additionally, among the victims were 19 civilians who died due to torture. That leaves 242 'unclassified', where the only other uncl…

For whatever reason parents get into a mode of 'any danger is bad'. Statistics just seem to aggravate the situation, even if every walk/breath in life is a risk, and stats is just a nice way of measuring risk. For Canada and abductions specifically... Police statistics show 25 children of the 46,718 reported missing in 2011 listed as "abducted by stranger." However, the definition of stranger for these numbers includes anyone who is not a parent. In other words it could be a relative, a friend o…

I don't get it. Why is /u/average_shill so in the wrong here (if we're looking at votes as being right or wrong). An anecdote is merely an anecdote, and not enough to make any sweeping conclusions to support the latter part of OP's title "And they say online dating is dangerous for women?" (Implying that it's dangerous for men). I think if that part was left out, /u/average_shill wouldn't have a problem. How the title should have read: "They met on a dating site and went bowling. It was a setup,…

I know this is a late post, but this comforts me a bit. Trump will fuck things up. Hillary might set mensrights back a little bit. If global warming is as bad as I think it might be, then the difference is very easy. Even if Hillary puts mensrights back 10 fold, I'd still vote for her because the earth will be VERY miserable if we fuck it up. I can't vote, because I don't live in the USA, but I would.

Incidentally, I think this was similar to Canada's strategy in bringing in medals. On the world stage where countries often puts women second, you'll get a better bang for your buck by investing in Female athletes. No problems with this, it's strategy and life. Funnily enough, this is the same thing that pisses me off about about the "wage gap". Simply, if employers could pay women less - effectively getting more productivity for their buck... most of them would.

I briefly looked for some posters via google search and men are represented. Maybe it's just in this section of campus they weren't put up for likely no ill-intent... or maybe when they got the posters, it's just what they had in print. I do hope they get a section called women on the site. It looks like a good helpline, and I'd really hate for someone on the edge of suicide to feel dismissed when trying to seek help.

I have another hypothesis. It might be overall perceived value, look at the age segments for amount of suicides. Male seems to be pretty consistent between age 20 and 60. There's a gradual curve which seems to peak at 55ish, but doesn't jump more than 25%: http://www.statcan.gc.ca/tables-tableaux/sum-som/l01/cst01/hlth66c-eng.htm Women, the moment they hit age 45 it nearly doubles, this is about the age that they're not looked at the same way (sexually): http://www.statcan.gc.ca/tables-tableaux/…

TL;DR: I don't like the feminist slant, though I enjoyed the show. More importantly, I don't think society is healthy when artists are stifled (or worse, silenced - of course). So I'm keeping my subscription to Netflix. Netflix is pretty lax about content creation from what I understand (ie. They really don't intervene and are hands off). I actually like this attitude, though it undoubtedly has its issues. Blocking Netflix BECAUSE of a show would more indicate that you want them to oversee conte…

While I'm finding it very troubling that we're fulfilling a self fulfilling prophecy by not helping those most likely to be radicalized, I do actually agree with this 50/50 cabinet (to an extent). A group works best when there's there's fewer minorities, and so sometimes a fully meritocratic cabinet may NOT be the most well functioning cabinet. That said, the perfect 50/50 split was a bit extreme.

True, though I didn't want to type out a 100k numbers and it was just to open eyes to a possibility of not looking enough into the stats. A lot of it can be explained by things other than living to a ripe old age and dying naturally. Males are more prone to disease, and are more likely to be dead in a work injury.

Could this be a matter of statistics playing with your mind? Lets take 5 women and 5 men. Of the women, the ages and cause of death are as follows: 76 yrs, cancer / natural 74 yrs, cancer / natural 82 yrs, cancer / natural 80 yrs, cancer / natural 54 yrs, suicide = 73 yrs avg Now of the men, whom have higher suicide rates and admission rates to the army: 34 yrs, suicide 81 yrs, cancer / natural 77 yrs, cancer / natural 24 yrs, in service. 88 yrs, cancer / natural = 60.8 yrs avg.

Wow. The child support informational website for the USA and Canada really differ on their approach. The USA is all about Child Support Enforcement... where as Canada seems to be about coming to an agreement. Seriously; USA, and Canada. And indeed, I see nothing about rape in these. 60% is quite the wage cut though (it differs from state to state and income levels)... Should be based on poverty lines so that they can't garnish any less than the poverty line + 20%.

She's seriously insane to subject another person unwillingly to a lifelong burden. In my eyes it was only HER that wanted the baby so it should fall completely on HER to take care of it. Just like if it was only HIM to want the baby, it should only be HIM to take care of it. Maybe you can take a tape recorder to some talks you manage to have with her and see if you can get the truth out of her, that she purposefully got pregnant. Start out by saying that you're a bit shocked but accept that what…

Well - she'll likely be charged up the ass for falsely stating the guy had liquid explosives. After a lie like that I'd like to think that it would be hard to prove any other warrant that she may have placed against him to be true as well.

There's a whole series which I've enjoyed called What Would You Do?. Think you'd be interested in it. Edit: It's not just gender issues - but deals with age and race and parenting.

Re: Love. As someone who experimented a few years with the concept of unconditional love (ie. Loving everybody equally without judgement and not based on conditional reasons), I no longer tie love as something that's exclusive to a single mate. Love is, to put it aptly, of better use on a community scale. I just wouldn't want to hate the person and would want the person to be someone I can be around a lot. Essentially, a close friend. (I don't do the unconditional thing very strictly anymore). I…

Been in the same situation by choice for a few years. I had a friend that's been doing it for about a decade. It's really pretty nice, though I'm considering the risk/benefits in regards to entering a relationship as well. The only benefits to me are: Sex Cuddling. Chance to pass on DNA. Everything else I can manage myself or through a network of friends. If I want kids I can adopt. If I fuck up my life I have many layers of backup before I end up on the streets. The risks are of course there: b…

This might not be the response you're looking for: I used to work as a dispatcher that would dispatch the authorities when I saw a crime being taken place (90% theft). The response times for active crimes varied between 2 minutes and 45 depending on a two main things: How busy it is that night. How close the police station was. If the crime was no longer active - it could be hours before they showed up on scene (hard to remember when you get a call-back hours after the fact). Try to think about …

It's hard to know where to draw the line for media. Ads, movies, and any creative output has the power to be sexist - in both ways. Shutting it out completely isn't the answer because it shuts out conversation, and conversation is something we need more of, not less of. I want there to be complete artistic freedom. That being said, it isn't conversation when it's delivered to people to take it as the way things are, which are primarily a much younger audience. It also isn't conversation when it'…
