Right or wrong being the victims I have life insurance, and I feel like protecting your offspring is priority number one. Better being alive and poor than dead. If any of us can be saved, it is worth taking, I'm not turning down an opportunity if the roles were reversed to leave my family on the plane. But I agree with the other commentor particularly with my children. In a hostage situation if there is any opportunity I'm not gonna cry and stomp my feet to be treated equally... My wife is the hiring manager for a position on her team in marketing and her company HR has sent her a handful of resumes all have been POC. While that wouldn't necessarily be a problem none of them have been even the slightest bit qualified. The conversations I've heard between her and HR are down right illegal. I understand a white person would have the privilege or opportunity to build a better resume in getting the education or the entry level job to be ready for this position. I don't see how he doesn't have self worth, he saved a young girl (his sister) from certain death at the expense of some life long scars.
