"stop rejecting out of hand every man and every approach that is not an absolute perfect match." For god's sake yes. I cannot count the amount of times I've actually approached a women, tried to make small talk while waiting at the bar/coffee counter/ bank line/whatever, or simply made a sarcastic aside in a social situation and met with a blank stare. Sometimes I'm actively trying to attract a woman, sometimes I'm giving it a shot because I'm bored, and sometimes I just say things to people. It…

I agree. Was simply pointing out the next BS argument that would've been made.

"Why the hell is a woman in the men's locker room in the first place? Can't she wait until the players are done changing?" Because (and here's the real bullshit), if only male reporters were allowed to do interviews in the men's locker room, it would be discrimination.

Benlarge1 is right. I'm a regular viewer of House and this episode is in no way indicative of the entire show being biased against men. In the same way we dislike radical feminists painting all men with the same brush of "dangerous molesting rapists," we shouldn't be so reactionary to condemn a tv show, company, social group, or anything or anyone else as "anti-male" based on one occurrence.

This is California law and not federal correct? I haven't looked up if there is a definition of rape federally, but it could make a difference.

It's not a grey area at all. If a woman, or the man (since you point out it is a pregnancy/health issue whether the condom is on or not) consents to sex on the condition a condom is used, taking it off negates all consent, and new consent is required. If a man got a woman to consent to sex with the condition a condom would be worn, once the condom is off, the woman has to consent or it can be rape. We could turn this around and say that if a man consented to sex with a woman with the condition h…

I wandered into your post fully armed to support a woman's right to choose, but you got me thinking, and you are right about the inherent contradiction in U.S. legal precedent on this issue. My main conundrum is if a man (or woman who has married legal status in the case of a sperm donor for a lesbian couple) gets a woman pregnant through consensual terms. What happens if the pregnant woman chooses to have an abortion? Legal precedent gives the other partner almost no recourse, even if they are …

Maybe I'm dense, but could someone fill me in on what the bill under discussion would do? The article doesn't explain it well. It appears to be some form of an affirmative action bill if I'm correct?

I disagree. As a male, I was raised to consider the safety, well-being, and happiness of others, not as paramount to my own well-being, but to be considered as equal (aside from my basic survival needs). I was taught to help others because they will invariably help you (regardless of gender). Emotional needs come second to survival, but often go hand in hand. I think women in our society should be exposed to this relationship.

While I appreciate your sentiments in the letter, and you make good arguments, I find a few places as a male where I disagree. In short, I agree that there is "unequal" judgement passed on males who show their emotion, I think there are fundamental ways that each gender shows emotion. As a heterosexual male, I experience emotions just like any other person; however, many do not move me to cry, or display my emotions outward. It could be the culture I was brought up in, but I also would place emp…

Fair point. All I'm saying is that there was way more shit and piss on the floor in the women's room, not to mention a higher state of general disarray.

I have. Used to clean restrooms at my old high school jobs. Women's rooms were way worse, hands down, everytime.

Thank you. My point is we both (Genders) make sacrifices and put a lot of effort into making our relationships work. Neither side should feel like they do more, nor should the other side be put down for "doing less." We should appreciate each others' efforts and work to make our partners happy.

I will take it upon myself to approach you, even though your first assumption is that I may rape you. I will pay for your drink. I will ask you out. I will purchase clothes, get a hair cut, shave, floss, apply cologne, and otherwise perform hygienic measures in order to please you and not exude my natural odors (just like you would). I will plan the date, details, and establish plans A, B, and C to anticipate alterations in your mood. I will pay for your dinner and drinks, drive you here and the…
