I’m sorry but whoever signed the promissory note at the loan closing is still responsible until the loan is paid off. Even if they quit claim the rights to the other party the note isn’t changed.

Legally separate, take MC with her if she would go. I say this to show the kids that you tried but she is reason for the split.
