3	The sinking ship I agree that it is unfair that a woman gets a seat before a man just because she is a woman. However, from a biological sense it makes some sense for continuation of the species. Say of you had 1000 survivors, half of each gender, in sample 1. Sample 2 has 1000 people, 900 women and 100 men. Both samples wash up on separate deserted islands.
