You and me both brother! I haven’t read anything like that in years. I walked out of the church never to return after witnessing a serious conversation between pastors about “what type of table (round or square) was more esthetically pleasing and would promote attendee retention”. I was dumb founded. You’re not trying to teach people the gospel. You’re running a business and selling a product. Don’t misunderstand - I’m a deeply religious person and a believer. I just have no patience for that no…

The insane thing is that’s not even what the Bible teaches at all. A good portion of the Old Testament is a red pill lesson for men. And did they even read Proverbs 31? That’s precisely why I left the institutional church. They don’t even teach the lessons of the Bible - they just peddle nonsense for profit.

I find your comment very fascinating, since I can’t disagree with you more emphatically. I take this opportunity to differentiate between what the Bible actually says, and what preachers “teach” from it. I encourage you to read it for yourself without the filter of a preacher telling you what they think it means. The Bible is full of based stories. It’s got many stories of women (and men) acting horribly. Samson’s wife? Lot’s wife? Etc. The takeaway that I’ve gleaned is that a husband and wife t…

Oh, I am very aware. I’ve already taken steps in that regard. For a couple of years now, I’ll take a carefully curated dating profile (curated for content, since profiles today can be unbelievably graphic / obscene), and posit the question: “What do you think this says about the “lady” that posted it?” At this point, she’s very capable at explaining to me why the posting is a train wreck. She’s been raised (as much as I’m capable) to see through the bullshit, and judge the character within. The …

I couldn’t agree more. Just celebrated 22 years last weekend. I chalk up my success to the fact that my wife was raised by strong grounded parents. Her mom is a sweet but no nonsense, highly logical lady. My favorite quote from her is “well…. sometimes violence is the answer. (In regards to defending yourself) My wife’s grandma was the exact same way. I’m interested in the current dating landscape due to the fact that we have a teenage daughter. We’ve raised her in the same fashion - that her ac…

I’ve never seen the “nature vs nurture” argument on display more clearly then my wife’s family. Out of 4 siblings, two are level headed, logical, pleasant people to be around (my wife, and one of the siblings). The other two ... hot messes. They were all raised by the same loving, patient, and strong father. He’s awesome. And my mother in law? She’s incredible too. They love their kids, disciplined in love when called for, and brokered no nonsense. So the answer is: it’s both. Nurture can get yo…

I appreciate the juxtaposition that while 120 lbs may be unhealthy for some women, at least its obtainable - they could match that standard if they wanted to. Vs men’s height, which isn’t obtainable at all once fully matured.
