Divorce may be challenging, but co-parenting can be a nightmare.I second this.... Ex went off the deep end when I moved on after she asked for divorce(she had multiple affair partners). I've been paying for it ever since. At the time, Divorce was supposed to scare me into conforming to becoming a person and father that sue saw fit to raise her kids. I basically needed to devote every waking, and nonworking, hour to kids, activities, church, playing outside, reading books, etc. Expectations most men wouldn't be able to live up to. Co-parenting with her has be… | /r/Divorce_Men | 21/01/23 02:17 PM
Was divorce the biggest failure of your life?Right there with ya buddy! Thankful for my kids but the rest was a big huge waste of time and energy. On to bigger and better things. | /r/Divorce_Men | 03/01/23 10:36 PM
50/50 custody and child supportThat's the worst-case scenario. Consult a lawyer and they will give you the lowdown on what your options are. It may not turn out as bad as you think. | /r/Divorce_Men | 06/12/22 12:31 AM
50/50 custody and child supportBeen thru this, wife cheated multiple times, divorced with three teenagers. Fight to your last dollar for 50/50. It was the difference between 1500.00+/month and about 200.00 a month( I live in MN). I also pay for and hold the health insurance for the kids which factors into the calculations for child support (this is spelled out in my divorce decree). Your state may have a different formula so best to check with dept of human services or the equivalent in your state. A good lawyer is also very … | /r/Divorce_Men | 06/12/22 12:14 AM
Can my wife stay on my health insurance after we are divorced? This is very admirable and hats off to both of you for working together. I know it’s not easy on anyone but It’s always refreshing to hear that divorce doesn’t have to be an ongoing, horrible, traumatic event. | /r/Divorce_Men | 21/11/22 10:55 PM
told my wife the truth yesterdayThe pool of ego maniac guys are a plenty out there. I’m sure they would be happy to go to the bar while you cook, clean, and take care of the kids. I game, have kids work a full time job, cook, clean, do the outside shit and much more. It’s unfortunate for you that a hobby is your line in the sand. | /r/Divorce_Men | 25/10/22 12:04 AM
My family still talks to my ex-wife as if we aren’t divorced. This is not normal, right?Three separate affairs on her part (over many years) and a bankruptcy after the third affair as she lost her job because of said affair. So, after all of the pain and BS, my family associating with her is almost a slap in the face after all that happened. | /r/Divorce_Men | 29/07/22 03:49 PM
My family still talks to my ex-wife as if we aren’t divorced. This is not normal, right?I can see how that would be confusing. I am 41, Mom is 20 years older | /r/Divorce_Men | 29/07/22 02:35 PM
Periodic reminder about the Golden Uterus SyndromeI second this! My ex wonders why the kids don’t listen/respect her. Well…. Maybe try being a parent/Mom rather than being their teenage friend. FFS! | /r/Divorce_Men | 27/03/22 12:40 PM
***Head of household taxes tip***I am divorced and have been claiming head of house hold the last couple of years. I have three kids, I claim one, she claims one and we alternate the third. It’s helped me with taxes that’s for sure. Taxes are not me expertise so I don’t have any advice here other than to say it’s worth checking into. | /r/Divorce_Men | 11/03/22 11:22 PM
A meme I wish I had seen in my early twenties.Yeah this about sums it up for me. Except that multiple guys showed up for coffee over the span of the entire marriage (I didn’t know about most of them until after the divorce). If only the guy worked harder, did more around the house and played with the kids more…… | /r/Divorce_Men | 24/06/21 12:45 PM
Everyone takes a piece [OC]Sometimes the fighting it out of principle is worth it. With that said, where wouldn't have been more beneficial to the the kids to have put the money spent on legal fees away for the kids?? To help with college, a car, or whatever they need!? I'm divorced and have seen the selfishness and greed come out first hand. Sorry your having to go through this B.S. Keep fighting the good fight!! | /r/Divorce_Men | 29/08/20 05:25 AM
