I met my husband on tinder.. we've been together for over four years, and the first anniversary of our wedding is coming up this April. He was the first guy I met in person after downloading the app. We hit it off immediately and are both still immensely happy to be together. Definitely not a good representation of what OLD (tinder especially) usually looks like.

so basically he's going to be single for sure whenever he gives her this "makeup"gift 🤣 Dude if your relationship is on thin ice, and the thing you buy to desperately try to salvage it is a fucking vagina egg.... you will be dropped so fast it'll give you whiplash lol!!

This early on, he should be cooking for YOU. Only agree to cook together if he has already proven he is a competent cook. Otherwise you will just be babysitting him the whole time to make sure he doesn't do anything wrong.

"if I have to put more effort than I want to in a relationship, I lose all interest" lmao I bet this guy doesn't respect women who are "too easy" either 🙄

I think there's a correlation between lazy texting and lv/nv, though not necessarily black and white. If he uses omw when he's coming to pick you up for a date, but still spells out all his "you"s, I wouldn't consider that a red flag. If you're having a genuine conversation and he barely spells out any full words.... something about that doesn't sit right with me. Like, at least try maybe?

This guy clearly doesn't know what he's talking about, but in a way he's right. As someone who uses a lifeless object whenever I feel like it, only to climax and then set aside where I don't have to look at it again, I definitely don't want to be treated like that by a man!!!!!

Can men grow and change for the better? Yes, they can. Will a man who has truly changed for the better come back to harass you into being with him again? Absolutely not. Don't trust anyone who tries to convince you they have changed. First off, they're already boundary stomping by doing that. Second, it's too easy for a man to put on a show long enough to lure you back in to the same bullshit all over again.

THIS!! This is the root of the issue. Everyone should actually evaluate if a romantic partner adds value to their life! Men are far more likely to underestimate that value, but there are still LV women out there, and it's not wrong to leave a relationship that isn't beneficial to both parties. When you straight up ask a woman what she brings to the table, though? That's not cOmMuNiCaTiOn, that's belittling and manipulative. It's a deliberate move designed to ensnare pickmes who have been brainwa…

Girl, first off, stop considering your time in that relationship as time "wasted". Think of it as a long, arduous learning experience, one that brought you to where you are today, to WHO you are today. And who you are today is a person who is beginning to understand her true worth, and who is ready to use everything she has learned to propel herself forward into genuine, fulfilling relationships, not only with a man but also with herself!! You have a lot of love to give, so be sure to give at le…

Ah, that makes a lot of sense. Love to hear it 👍 I totally agree that you don't need to be actively dating to learn what qualities you'd look for in a romantic relationship. Honestly, I think I learned most about what I need in a partner when I took some time to be single for a while. It sounds like you're putting a lot of thought into that, so you'll be fine 😊 And screening out the ones with the most obvious red flags is definitely a nice skill to have 😉

Not the original commenter of course, but I thought I'd throw in my own two cents on the topic 🙃 There's definitely plenty of use for learning to recognizing the signs of a lvm upfront so you can nope the hell out without wasting any of your valuable time! But it's equally important to learn the qualities that you look for in a good partner -- many of which might be specific to you. Because you deserve a partner who is not only decent, but who also adds genuine value to your life, who makes it a…

This is so nice to read tbh. I've been a bit nervous about some comment chains I've seen that reflect ideologies that I definitely don't agree with, and I'm here wondering, "is FDS turning into this or that?" Because FDS has always fundamentally been about changing the script of hetero relationships such that women aren't constantly getting the shit end of the stick in every conceivable way. That's it. That's the glue that binds us together. We may have our similarities or differences, but those…

Honestly, I'm loathe to condemn any man who tells other men to fuck off. Does he deserve praise and commendation? Not really, no. But it's still nice to see. If men only want to listen to other men, then they might as well get an earful.

As a bisexual woman and former pickmeisha, I've found that "checking girls out together" -- even with a guy I wasn't dating -- was really uncomfortable. The way they talk about women and the things they find attractive don't make any goddamn sense to me. Pretty sure that's just because I actually see women as people, though ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Exactly 👌👌👌 or like in those Scottish competitions who wear kilts and lift up enormous logs from giant trees and throw them or whatever. Weight doesn't bother me as much as long as you're taking care of your body

You know how the strongest guys in the world are actually heavy set? Like, they look pretty chunky, but then they go and lift up a whole friggin car, and you go "ohhh, that's 90% muscle, huh.” That's my ideal body type. I don't care about seeing the muscle definition so much as knowing that the muscle is there.

I was pretty forthright about making the first move on OLD, but it was more like "Hi, engage in a conversation with me so I can weed out the boring creeps from the ones I might actually be interested in :)". Cause I see OLD as more like screening applicants for a job... profile being the resumé, first interview over text, then second on a video call, etc. until there's an applicant that seems worth my time. In person, though? Terrible idea. From experience, it doesn't work. I think it follows FD…

That was an amazing read tbh. Especially near the end, where she talks about how graphic tees used to indicate that you had gone to an event or store in support of a cause, whereas now they are really just performative... I hadn't really thought about that!

For reasons I don't entirely understand, reddit men think they are entitled to a ""debate"" everywhere, all the time, for any reason, on any topic, ESPECIALLY topics they have literally no authority on. Yo fr, men who complain about being "silenced" on a hundred platforms and articles and news clips can Fxck Off. They don't seem to have any concept of what actual consequences are? What it really means to be ignored and belittled? And when they do experience that-- on a personal and individual scale mind you, certainly not on an institutional level -- they scream and cry as loud as they can on every possible platform that it's BECAUSE they are a man, that it's MISANDRY. 🙄 OK, sure, whatever you …

I weirdly like this? I know it's satire, but also I think that it could help to conceptualize what is meant by LV, ZV, and NV. What does he add to your life vs what he ruins or takes away. It's not even half as dehumanizing as rating a person's body on a 10-point scale, because it's something everyone can change. What you bring to a relationship, the effort you put into everything from daily chores to grand gestures to taking over everything when your partner is sick... that is all something tha…

For real. He clearly misses the point of FDS entirely... Attracting men isn't the problem, since most men will chase after anything with a pulse. We're trying to help each other weed through the garbage to find the men that will actually add something to our lives. I literally can't imagine a single HVM actually getting bent out of shape just because he can't share his shit opinions on one subreddit out of thousands.

The more indifferent and dismissive your replies, the better. Typing long paragraphs in response to his paragraphs is putting in way too much time and effort into just entertaining him. imho the perfect final text before blocking and deleting is "lol no thanks, boy bye"

Honestly? The whole "men need to be allowed to be emotional" really refers to men expressing their emotions healthily with other men. Not just bottling it up until you find one approachable female person to unload on over and over again like they're a human dump truck.

Try hundreds of authors. It was common for a man's wife to type while he dictated, so even if he wasn't straight up stealing her ideas, she was at least doing all the editing work.

I think the quote must be phrased wrong... it should be "Only dogs and women are able to love unconditionally. Men can only love someone for what they do." Just makes more sense that way!

Why don't men pull their weight you ask? .....Because they can get away with it. There's a lot of intricacies to this question, but it essentially boils down to that. There are plenty of people, men and (pickme) women, who would say that asking for a real balanced partnership is too much, and that you should just be happy with what you have. Truth is, those who cry out for 50/50 on everything in a relationship never take into consideration that women are raised to carry emotional and mental burd…

That's pretty much how you do it! 😂 Say nothing and walk away like they don't exist, don't give them a second more of your energy or time! It's far from a 100% foolproof way of avoiding male wrath, but it sure does take the piss out of 'em. Plus, many harassers' primary goal is attention, bad or good -- take that away and they leave to find attention somewhere else.

Let's be real, men would sooner overthrow the entire government for instating the curfew in the first place than go to such lengths just to protect women 😔

Notice the deliberate avoidance of the words "wife" or "girlfriend", substituted with terms that are gender neutral as though this actually isn't only aimed at hetero men. Calling your "partner" a "real bitch" who "nags" you about doing basic chores makes it pretty clear what demographic you're talking to!

I wonder if this has something to do with the way that marriage is seen as like, the end goal after which you don't need to try anymore. There's a lot of focus on "getting the girl", as opposed to "constructing and maintaining a healthy & happy relationship with the girl", for which marriage is seen as a milestone but not the final step. If he stops putting effort into the relationship after marriage, couple's therapy ain't gonna do much to alter this mindset.

Yessss, congratulations!!!! One of my favorite FDS lessons is that a man's attention isn't worth shit <3 It just frees up so much space mentally and emotionally to actually evaluate who they are as a person, and if you'd even want them in your life.

The absolute worst time to seek a relationship is when you're feeling vulnerable and seeking comfort. Predatory and abusive men can sense that immediately and will waste no time taking advantage of your pain. 😔 Ideally, the only time you should be putting yourself out there is when you are unshakably confident and not willing to entertain LV behavior for a second. You should know that you're HV to such a degree that any attempts to damage your self esteem are pathetic failures that you can laugh…

1 word: ~projection~ Men say we'll die alone because they fear dying alone. They say we hit the wall at 30 because they know they age like milk. They accuse us of cheating the most when they have 2 or 3 side chicks. They call us shallow yet are disgusted by any woman without an hourglass figure and <1% body fat. They-- you get the idea. Personally, I think it's because men generally don't know how to process emotion. They bury their fears and pretend they don't exist, then proceed to lash out at…

She said be wary of a man that doesn’t know his feelings for you early. I think that's the key takeaway here. If a man DOESN'T instantly know he wants to pursue you, then don't even bother letting him waste any more of your time. Not every man who has that moment of "she's the one" is going to actually follow through and add value to your life, and you should continue to vet thoroughly... but if he's on the fence at first then it's never going to get better from there.
