1	Circumcision's Pain and Benefits Re-Examined - Page 2 - New York Times According to today's logic yes it would make more sense to not perform the procedure, since they had no idea about microbes or bacteria. I doubt they would be using rusty blades or something just laying in the dirt; but then again that is how we learned about what did and didn't work.
