Toxic masculinity isn’t meant to refer to natural masculinity, but the harmful attributes society makes them believe they need to have, such as: ‘the more sex you have, the better a man you are’; ‘crying is for girls’; ‘real men don’t hesitate to fight another guy’; etc. Qualities like these are harmful to men as individuals, and at times, influence them to harm others too, and that is why we call these ideas of masculinity ‘toxic’.
