I'm half white and half Hispanic though and grew up around white people so they might feel more comfortable around me. Lived in Chicago and moved to San Diego. Tried going out like I still lived in Chicago and no dice. Embraced SD for outdoor activities, craft beer and sun and everything started to click. San Diego - Embrace the year round summer. Hiking, biking and running are great ways to meet people outside of the usual hookup culture. Craft beer, craft beer, craft beer. Above comment is correct, good social circles and neighborhoods are a good start.
