Right, because they know they can get away with neglecting their partner's needs/feelings/etc so they push the envelope more and more. It's like a new babysitter, or a substitute teacher; the children see what they can get away with. I was in a relationship like this for a long time before I realized I wasn't being patiently perfect, and that I wasn't going to get a trophy at the end of the race.

False Advertising. Men don't suddenly realize they should be better to you as long as you're "always there" to clean up their messes, they realize that you'll always be there to clean up their messes. That's it.

Omg I know, it's amazing. I keep texting, "get used to it" to her because I can't get over it. She killed.

I love the honestly of the cringey-ness, it's so refreshing to see post from people (like me) who used to have a really toxic misunderstanding of their value, only to slum it enough to be better to yourself. I have SO many cringey gross memories like this, from Before When I, Too Was A Pickme. Thanks for the story, glad you're healthy and well and AWAY permanently from men like that. Thank you for this story!!!!!

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
