Here is a link if you would like to read the essay in which I responded: https://artandobjecthood.files.wordpress.com/2012/06/cixous_the_laugh_of_the_medusa.pdf I'm on mobile otherwise I would put it in the description.

He is no doubt a very intelligent person.

Ah, I see what you mean. Honestly, I was surprised I got a B+ but I think he did a good job of separating the paper from his opinions. We've had multiple face-to-face discussions about this, once where he said women were treated as bad as slaves were.

Please elaborate.

lol that "whole/hole" thing cracked me up. But yeah, you're right! If she wanted to break the system, wouldn't she not have tried to gain so much power in the "male-dominated world"?

It's actually a man. I think he feels guilty for being a man so he justifies it with this argument.

I decided to just take a picture of the paper instead of scanning it.

So I had a meeting with him today. I brought a lot of these points up. His response to women getting less jail time than men is that this is a symptom of the patriarchy. We think women are only good for being mothers so we get them out faster.

No problem! Someone needs to speak up.

That's a much better word! Thank you!

Update: apparently the treatment of women is similar to that of a slave in the 1800s.

I was doing this so people would know my professor is a male and I am a female. It might alter the responses.

True. A better word would probably be "double bind". But I'm more looking for negative " lose lose " type situations. Your stay at home example is good!

Yes. They were both drunk, but Alex was still to blame, apparently.

I had a plan that if the director was rude, I was going to say "This is why male victims don't speak up!" But she was very polite, which was the best case scenario anyway :)

Wow, check your privilege please.

Thanks! I just wanted them to know that I, a woman, took notice. I feel bad for the males who feel like their cases aren't taken seriously, largely due to courses like this.

As far as I take it, if you feel like you're being harassed you probably are. In my opinion, try to fix it yourself and if the offender won't stop, take it to the boss. But set a boundary between "harassment" and "annoyance."

Also, the video made a specific emphasis on it.

I was relieved to hear that! I think I would have complained if the company hadn't included that part. Edit: I cannot grammar today

I didn't say anything. I was just present for the event. But I might have a word with her if she talks to me about it ever.
/r/MensRights23/10/13 11:08 PM
You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
