Tolstoi, Dostoievski are some of my favs :) But if you want to start with something to grow your reading expertise my recommendation would be Aldus Huxley - “brave new world”, was one of the first books I’ve ever read (I started to read late in life). People truly start to respect you more if you often read books in various situations of your daily life rather than be scrolling on social media/phone or watching Netflix.
