A birthday card costs like $4 at the nearest Target or grocery store near me. Funny how he wants to be in a relationship, but can’t even do the bare minimum. I was already reading halfway through and his excuses and lies, is the reason why I don’t give many second chances to guys who show this type of behavior to me.

I heard a line once from my favorite show. I think it went something like this: “I’d rather be alone forever than settle for you.” Something about how the main character realized her worth, and would rather be single than with someone she could deserve better than

Sadly my older sister and her boyfriend are at this stage. Dating for 9 years and when his parents asked what their future was going to be like they both replied “I don’t know”. Neither want to be engaged, but just live together. Since they don’t even know if they want to be together forever or not. I mean I get wanting to be ready or prepare for the future, but am I the only one who would feel bummed out over being with someone for nearly a decade, not engaged or seeing a long term future toget…

I deal with this, but on dating apps so I don’t know if it’s the same. Literally at some point the guy always asks me “what are you doing here on the app?” I answer that I’m looking for a serious relationship and then I get this sort of answer “I don’t know what I’m doing on here, but let’s just see where it goes.”

I was so concerned, like this man served chicken nuggets on a magazine or newspaper? I’d be concerned if he had kids or his family over and did the same

Agreed, this guy needs to see a therapist to work out his issues before he even considers getting into a relationship. I’d hate for some poor woman to fall into a relationship with him only to be his therapist or comfort for his ex.

From personal experience I’ve thought it was because they are insecure. That causes them to project their insecurities and end up sabotaging their own chances and possibilities. Like they think “I’m too ugly to be loved, so that’s why I want someone who’s attractive.”

“What’s wrong with that?” um the guy is literally old enough to be her dad. Oblivious and clueless guys are just gross and creeps.

A bouquet of flowers for the lowest price in stores around me are $5. That’s probably a cup of coffee right there. Those flowers are super pretty too, I really hope they didn’t come from somebody’s garden.

They only muted you because you spoke the truth. I bet they took a look just to see you were on FDS and used that as an excuse to ban you.

It’s like guys think you’re playing hard to get, but you really just don’t care

Girl me too, the guy I was with said he couldn’t handle things when it got hard for me when I got rear ended 2 months ago. Then the nerve of him because he slid into my Instagram dm’s after ending things, and was asking if I was better and wanted to try again. Here’s to a good recovery for both of us and being strong women

Don’t forget to add basic life skills that guys should have the bare minimum at least. I’m in college and have had the unfortunate chance to meet guys who were in their early 20’s, and still didn’t know how to cook, clean, or drive and expected me to do it. They were like “So I don’t really make food/drive, but I usually just get take out or Uber’s. Is that cool with you?”.

The passive aggressiveness is screaming in this post. Promises he isn’t mad like 3 times, but goes on a 5 minute lecture. As someone with irregular periods I couldn’t even predict when mine would come, so how does this guy think periods even work?

Just to add on to this, if a guy has to describe himself as nice chances are he isn’t. I don’t know why I’ve blindly went along with that before joining the sub. Guys would say “I’m a nice guy I promise you.” And then proceed to turn out to become a jerk. Moral of the story is it’s up to other people if they perceive you as nice or not.

Girl I got invited to this guy’s dorm room because he found out I played Mario Kart too, and it was supposed to be our first time meeting each other. Needless to say it didn’t happen because he actually thought I’d drive an hour over just to see him. I’m so thankful for this sub because here I was wondering if it was worth it or not.

Me too girl, like I think that people will try to come up with any reason to avoid trying to put effort in. I imagine that with an entree & drink it would only cost about $15 per person at a decent restaurant.

I had the same thing too, except the guy came back 2 months after and thought I would respond. I have to ask because I’m a little confused though, you said he blocked you and ghosted you, did that mean he unblocked you and tried to reach out afterwards to explain why he ghosted? I thought Snapchat meant you’d have to add someone as a friend to even see the message.

I thought it was one of those candy rings I would eat in elementary school 😭 But I saw your other comment and I’m so happy to hear you got your own ring, because girl we deserve better than these play doh looking things. I got myself a ring too because the guy I was with, I think he got me one of those grocery store (Target or Walmart) rings. I get well intentions, but it rusted after a few days of wearing it and the color would come onto my fingers. In conclusion, sometimes we just gotta do goo…

Girl I got the same thing at like midnight from the guy that ghosted me 2 months ago. Coincidentally I just thought the reason why he reached out was because it was holiday season and he was probably lonely. The person I was before joining this subreddit probably would’ve replied to see what was up, but I left that sucker on seen.

Am I the only one focused on that first paragraph? Where he says he wants to be taken care of which I immediately translated to: somebody to cook, clean, and more for him. All my time on this subreddit has helped me be able to see those little red flags I probably would’ve dismissed before. He sounds like he wants a mom.

I feel like anybody who talks about their ex in a one sided way is just a red flag bound to happen. I was in the talking stage with a guy I matched with on a dating app, and I don’t know how but he decided to bring up his previous relationship and then the idea of a first date the next day. Needless to say I did not go anyways.

Isn’t this why people say nice guys always finish last? But from a personal experience I had this happen. I went on a date with a guy and he got me flowers, which was a nice gesture, and a small dinner date at Chipotle. Then afterwards when I was getting ready to leave and thank him for the great time, he said it didn’t have to end there and that he could take me back to his place for some, without going into details you know what.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
