| 1 | Tried as an adult vs. statutory rape. Double standard?TL:DR; The law is not only trying to protect minors. It is also trying to protect people from minors. A basic premise is that minors have not yet developed their decision-making abilities completely. When someone takes advantage of this (e.g: statutory rape) the law tries to protects the minor. On the other hand some minors commit crimes. The law is also trying to protect the victims of those minors. Lawmakers don't want that being a minor is a get-out-of-jail-for-free card. The same reasoning e… | /r/MensRights | 01/09/14 11:31 PM |
| 1 | Did my professor really say this? The deans job is to make sure you can go somewhere with those issues. At small universities (s)he probably will care. So I have to admit my reaction was probably pointed too much to big universities. At big universities going immediately to the dean for a discussion with a professor is a bit like mailing yishan wong because you forgot your password. | /r/MensRights | 22/04/14 11:39 AM |
| 1 | Did my professor really say this?If your philosophy professor, of all people, is going to deduct points from your grade due to a different viewpoint you have no way to prove it. The dean has probably more important issues than a yes-no discussion between a professor and a student. | /r/MensRights | 21/04/14 10:12 PM |
| -3 | Swedish newspaper: men shouldn't be taller than women and the only reason they are is because of discriminationDon't talk about pretenses of someone else's comment being false and conclusions being overly simplistic when you open with this : Point taken. It was meant as an example to indicate that even using some simple mechanics the idea of the post was not entirely true. But on this point you are totally right. Height is largely genetic, although it is affected by the environment (proper nutrition and health). In the past a similar discussion existed about races being smaller. Nowadays it has been wild… | /r/MensRights | 26/02/14 12:25 PM |
| -8 | Swedish newspaper: men shouldn't be taller than women and the only reason they are is because of discriminationIt is not obvious: (and not even true) Some simple examples. * If you eat junk you grow fat, not tall. * It is only about discrimination at a young age. So it is perfectly possible you don't eat enough when you are young and don't grow tall. But during puberty you start eating junk and grow fat. Your premise is false fat girls not being taller disproves this? I quote from this article. ... but the extra height associated with more fat in the child is unrelated to the height or weight of either p… | /r/MensRights | 26/02/14 11:07 AM |

| -1 | My take on the wage gapThis reads as a quite bigoted an offensive post to a normal question. I don't, no. Men don't get that flexibility - and no one cares about their issues. The point (s)he gives is that woman are expected to raise the kids and don't get 'that flexibility' either. Additionally out of the 74,000 jobs created none of them went to men last quarter. Concurrently women are ahead financially while it is men that struggle. Which jobs, any source? So far you've run from every single call to support your var… | /r/MensRights | 22/01/14 07:32 PM |
| 0 | Even Beyonce is spreading the 77% mythAverages have a couple of disadvantages. Outliers Bill gates has an income of 6 billion dollars per year. (I find a couple of contradicting sources but just watch the magnitude). This increases the average income of an American man with approximately 18$ per year. The sum average is highly unfair for incomes, (which are allways positive). A person who has 0 income and lives by eating rats has a much smaller effect. So for income only the positive outliers have a great effect. Suppose that man ju… | /r/MensRights | 15/01/14 05:00 PM |

| 4 | This is abuse. Only for women apparently. This video shows clearly abuse. Guy checks his girlfriends cellphone Guy forbids his girlfriend to wear perfectly decent clothes In the right context the words are acceptable. But in this context it seems like a threat. Please show the entire video, you are making a fool of yourself. | /r/MensRights | 11/12/13 11:03 PM |
