Affirmative action was originally put in place to help what was once a disadvantaged gender reach social equity. It was an ugly solution to an ugly problem. The purpose of affirmative action in the college application process is to create a diverse campus. This has gone to the Supreme Court, see Grutter v. Bollinger. I don't why you are flipping out like this. Men have a ton of disadvantages in the job market and in fields in which they are the majority (the good ones). All I am saying is that as a dude who is currently a junior in college I can tell you that guys have a marginal advantage over girls when applying to college. In the same manner as I white guy I had a slight advantage over asians but a disadvantage compared to blacks. Obviously there are more feminists than men's rights advocates. However if you would ask these feminists to define Feminism you are told that it works for equality for all. The data in the article shows the huge discrepancy between people who identify as feminists and those who simply believe in equality and pretty damning evidence of what feminism really is. To be fair there are a lot of issues with this. First liberals split their votes between Nixon and W. Bush while conservatives voted primarily for Obama. Also there is the obvious issue that the longer a president has been out of office the higher his approval rate is. I would say that mens' rights advocates don't have a problem with feminism itself but rather with many individual feminists.
