other races arent going to save us or do the work for us. Those movements were led by their own people which is why they are powerful. We as indians and SE Asians need to come together and find a way to work together against indian hate, its a huge task as were constantly infighting, casteism and out communtiy still deeply and absolutely believe in the model minority myth.

Hi im an indian woman married to an indian man were both 2nd gen in NZ. Indian women usually date white men to get away from toxic cultural norms and gender expectations especially around dealing with in laws, and of course there is a subset of them who have a fetish -no doubt- just like indian men who date white women and hate indian women. Indian women are also victims and perpetrators of sexist ideas around gender especially older ones. I do understand your frustration but turning to the redp…

And im not replying anymore because quite honestly your comments have been dismissive to a survivor of woman on woman SA. I know what my personal experience was, keenly aware of how my family reacted and how this woman was allowed to abuse multiple other girls because my mother decided it wasnt bad enough because 'how bad it could it be she was a woman' to let other family know. Yes, women are not the majority of offenders but when they are there are a number of people who dont see it as bad or …

I CAN because thats what they said, including my mother. Thats what my mother said and her gender definitely made a huge difference. They took my cousin raping girls more seriously but still kept him around however he had more consequences. In MY circumstances it was gendered even if in your case it wasnt. Also im sorry you went through that.

I was also told my abuse from my aunt cant be that bad, honestly no one in my family gave a fuck because shes a woman. Shes a pedophile that my family keeps around and chose her. I have cptsd that took me out of the workforce, they dont care. And yet, i still believe women, i still support them and i believe men. I will always believe survivors of abuse.

Im going to be absolutely honest as a fellow survivor, woman and person who worked at rape crisis centre. A lot of people cant handle what to do with survivors of abuse including women. They do not know how to support or affirm survivors of abuse. They would rather not know and not see it and once they know and they see it they would rather ignore it and pretend it doesnt exist and this is a unique kind of othering that people who have been through trauma exist with. Include biases that men cant…

If they have unrestricted access to the internet its likely they've come across it -unfortunately- it would be worth while having a conversation with them without using what men can perceive as attacks by talking about toxic masculinity. I don't think the majority of young men who don't study humanities can wrap their head around that without feeling slighted. Ask them about their dating life, how they approach dating, has anyone talked about consent when it comes to sex? do they have friends th…

Sexual attraction in long term relationships is complicated its not one size fits all and therapists often get the worst end of the spectrum of relationship issues. There are definitely people out there who have had fucked up things happen to them and replay that pattern in relationships, unconsciously seeking toxic relationships and find healthy safe ones unfamiliar and therefore dangerous and unstimulating, some people become aware of their patterns and some dont. But there are also people in …

Therapy is usually a tool to work on yourself like your inner self rather than you go in and tell a therapist im here because i cant find a gf, they might instead work on getting you being comfortable in your own company, or dysfunctional ways that you think about the situation, past trauma, living a full life. That being said working on all those things will make you a better partner and make your relationships more likely to be successful. CBT is helpful for unhelpful thought patterns, if you …

Im a woman and honestly Im here to understand this social phenomena and look for red flags in the guys in my life. Its really easy for people especially men to fall down this line of thinking because of social media exposure that radicalises them. I also used to research and did my masters on culture that perpetuates sexual violence and I tend to notice themes that i wrote about years ago. I also come from a very dysfunctional patiarchal community and family system and genuinely want to understa…
