Your baking comment reminded me, sometimes I rinse glasses and then put them in the freezer, so they frost up nicely for an ice cold g&t or beer. It looks fancy.

I don't have children, but I saw there is a place nearby where mums can bring their babies or toddlers to classes. Might be worth looking into eventually. :)

I'm doing the free 30 day plan at yogawithadriene.com, plus adult ballet and local yoga class when we can afford it. I do sit ups and use small weights while watching Netflix.

If you are looking for another style of language learning, check out the michel thomas method. I used it when I first relocated overseas. :) It's slower, but I think in the end you develop a better grasp of sentence structure and pronunciation.

I think this is a really lovely idea. It sounds like you are more interested in improving in your current job rather than actually going overseas as an expat. Since I read The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up I have bought little rectangular baskets to fold my underwear into and I keep my bras tidy. I also used her folding method to fold my husband's work tshirts and I also set the kitchen sponge outside to disinfect. I really recommend her book, especially if you have an interest in Japan.

My husband is in the military (not US) and I've found having talk radio on to things like BBC 4 (history! radio plays!) or classical music to be helpful. Of course you can turn on Netflix, but sometimes it turns into a bit of a time suck because you end up watching a screen rather than working with your hands.

Not a blog, but I recommend Victoria magazine. It went a bit downhill in the 2000s, but I treasure all my old copies from the 90s and it recently came back. I have all the old issues on disc now. You are still young and while doing a master's degree you'll have plenty of chances to meet people. I'm also afraid 'making out' might mean 'doing everything but' or they had just had sex. I'd check out the fashion photography in Victoria magazine. I prefer a more romantic or elegant look than the pin-up styles, so I just bought all the old issues on disc. I also love the clothing worn by the Duchess of Cambridge, so I follow a few fashion blogs related to her and sometimes they make brand recommendations. That's how I chose my wedding dress. :)
