I used to get petrified when meeting new people, but chatting with people that I gamed with online helped me get over this phobia. This eventually translated into real life. In college I would attend things held by student clubs and make it a goal to have a one on one with a certain number of people. After a year or so I found that it was pretty energizing to meet new people and learn about them. Getting started is scary, but you’ll find your life open up once you get the hang of it.
