I like how the opener brings us full circle past all kinds of unnecessary over-thinking and silliness back to something simple and natural

I thought maybe they were trying to be ironic or something when the link for "it's not" didn't work haha "It’s a land where false rape claims are more common than rape, where the court system is biased against men (it’s not)..." edit: or rather, directed to about: blank

Yeah, if the generalization is accurate and used appropriately...

and what if 90% of women are actually lizard alien people that want to eat our brains? Making up numbers doesn't make it true.

We're bringing up biology here and ignoring the fact that men invest way less (a bit of sperm) through sex than women? It's in our biology to fuck almost everything that moves after all (Isn't this the sub that suggests spinning plates?). From an evolutionary point of view, more women than men fucked, and more men fucked multiple women rather than vice versa. Look at African tribes where men have multiple wives. "In many animals species, close to 90% of the females but only 20% of the males repr…

Is any Everyman capable of loving a woman so much that he turns down the hottest woman in the world for her?

Yeah lol before reading the article, since the title asked to guess what happens, I guessed double murder suicide.

I said this somewhere else in this thread, but I think part of it is because more women are at least subconsciously just making a cry for help while men are more likely to just straight up be trying to blow their brains out. You can try to connect that to women feeling more likely for society to take pity on them or something.

"While females tend to show higher rates of reported nonfatal suicidal behavior, males have a much higher rate of completed suicide. ... The reported difference in suicide rates for males and females is partially a result of the methods used by each gender. Although females attempt suicide at a higher rate, they are more likely to use methods that are less immediately lethal. Males frequently complete suicide via high mortality actions such as hanging, carbon-monoxide poisoning, and firearms. Th…

"While females tend to show higher rates of reported nonfatal suicidal behavior, males have a much higher rate of completed suicide." More from wikipedia: "Male gender roles tend to emphasize greater levels of strength, independence, and risk-taking behavior.[8] Reinforcement of this gender role often prevents males from seeking help for suicidal feelings and depression.[9] "Numerous other factors have been put forward as the cause of the gender paradox. Part of the gap may be explained by heigh…

Not sure about obesity, but there is plenty of research on changing preferences in terms of how much body fat is most attractive. In terms of what we consider obese, I doubt barely anyone way back in time was even capable of attaining obesity due to food limitations and being physically active a lot. But this paper has some interesting comments: "...the woman’s body shape, or hourglass figure as defined by the size of waist-to-hip-ratio (WHR), reliably conveys information about a woman’s age, fe…

No. She did not claim that he never used force or violence. She said that he didn't pin her down, or threaten violence. That doesn't exclude the possibility of other types of physical and psychological coersion. It is so annoying to see this type of willful ignorance or stretching of the truth to support twisted views of the world and/or women being against men and that it's all one-sided and there aren't any men that do anything wrong or some bullshit like that. Just because he didn't beat the …

Good stuff, agreed with almost all of that. That one part about "A woman who would only start interacting with men when she is grown would place all men as higher status since they are more capable in all aspects of life" seems a bit extreme though. Obviously most men are physically bigger, stronger etc than most women, and as far as careers, men tend to have more ambition, more likely to be leaders etc but it's not like there aren't some really talented women out there and some fucking hopeless…

Right. I don't know about him, but I could see myself coming off similarly, especially when I was younger. It's not like I wouldn't be turned on by being sexually aggressive, I just didn't want to come off as super rapey or pervy, but... "Those who hesitate, masterbate"

Idunno, It certainly fits into TRP theory in terms of what women actually crave sexually. I don't think her wanting a guy to gorilla fuck the shit out of her would be emasculating. Telling the guy she's with now that she wants him to be more alpha would probably make him feel like shit, but she's just being honest about what she wants and seems to be trying to avoid potentially hurting the guy she's in order to get it by seeking advice and not sleeping around, at least while she's with him.

Regardless of whether or not the story is real, how is she hamstering? "The rationalization hamster is an analogy for the thought processes used by women to turn bad behavior and bad decisions into acceptable ones to herself and her friends." I don't think anyone in TRP would consider a guy breaking up with a chick because he's into dirtier fucking than she is 'bad behaviour' - he's just trying to find the right matchup and/or get the most out of fucking. She didn't even cheat on him or anything…

Does that really make sense to you that you have some sort of argument here? What the fuck are you even talking about? Jesus christ. Deserving scorn has the same meaning as the other words. It means "the feeling or belief that someone or something is worthless or despicable; contempt." Just because part of the definition of the word contempt is that the person is "deserving of scorn" does not mean that the person actually deserves scorn. That is just what the word contempt means.

www.thefreedictionary.com/contempt‎ if you had googled it: the feeling that a person or a thing is beneath consideration, worthless, or deserving scorn. "he showed his contempt for his job by doing it very badly" synonyms: scorn, disdain, disrespect, scornfulness, contemptuousness, derision; disgust, loathing, hatred, abhorrence

That's an absurd simplification of reality. Does every women you know really fit into that stereotype? I think our society is doing a bit better than that. Yes, of course men and women have differing biology/chemistry/base instincts that influence our behaviour, but we also have higher cognitive functions that allow us to cooperate instead of murdering and fucking everything in sight. People differ immensely in many ways beyond gender. People don't always relate to each other for a million diffe…

Women are beyond contemptable contempt: inferior, base, or worthless Easy there. I like this forum for helping guys do/get what's best for them but let's not turn into complete psychopaths. They make up a little over half the population of the planet. Hating them/having such a bigoted view isn't going to do yourself any favours in getting along with most people... if you live somewhere civilized anyway.

I think #1 puts too much emphasis on playing the field. It's one thing to tell him not to be afraid to date different girls, but don't make him feel bad if he wants to just date one girl for a bit. You especially don't want your advice to be too divergent from what kids his age are thinking about and doing. Ideally he's comfortable enough around you that he's willing to give you an idea of where he and his classmates are at. You don't want to give him a philosophy way ahead of his classmates whe…

I just wanted to differentiate from "rape, at the hands of the enemy", as you put it.

But what about women in combat roles in the military? Those women are risking rape, at the hands of the enemy. The sad fact is that rape and war are synonymous. Women are more likely to be assaulted by a fellow soldier than killed in combat. wikipedia I'm sure there is also a risk of capture, rape etc from enemy combatants, but it sounds like most of the rape is coming from US soldiers...

In her defence, she didn't kill anyone. Plus (hopefully) no one died in that fight. And what's worse, enjoying watching a fight, or enjoying beating the shit out of someone? I'm not saying it's right, but there are plenty of guys that enjoy watching and/or taking part in violence. And it's not like all women, or all men, are into it. Some people are freaks... what are you gonna do?

Damn kind of had an epiphany imagining what I would want to tell that nice guy in the comic: How successful would a girl be in getting what she wanted in a relationship if she was the "nice guy" and just did whatever the guy wanted and hoped that would make him like her? If he was your average guy and he found out that this girl would pretty much let him do whatever he wanted to her, he would be like holy shit, she's letting me take her clothes off on the first date? If I suggest it, she'll blow…

yeah the theory is that they have this terrible memory they're trying to 'rewrite' by replacing it with similar, but less traumatizing memories. This can be applied more widely to other types of trauma. The other element is that they can be desensitized, as they more exposed you are to something, the more used to it you become.
