Please go outside and talk to actual people instead of trying to extrapolate what’s going on outside from whatever weird shit the algorithm feeds you. (Especially considering you seem to be unable to even parse the English language. “I’ll never settle for the bare minimum after him” = he WASN’T the bare minimum, unlike other people. How you got the exact opposite from that to further fuel your freak out is beyond me). “Is this really how women think???” Jesus Christ brother. People who go outsid…

Is this… a joke? You’re literally just quoting my second to last paragraph lol. If it is a joke, sorry lol. It’s not always clear on this sub. Disregard the next paragraph. If it’s not, please re-read everything I said. It’s all been addressed. And for someone who wants clear communication where words mean things, you sure are assuming a lot of intention for why someone would phrase themselves a certain way, one which is not in my post at all lol. In fact, a completely other explanation is.

Yeah, I simply don’t relate to this dichotomy that talking to people like it’s their first day on earth and explaining every minute detail of a thought or idea with more and more words is the only “clear” or “good” communication. Certainly not for me, or really anyone neurotypical I know. If I’m resting my head in my hands and say “I’ve had such a long day, would you grab me a water?” to anyone neurotypical, they can put 2 and 2 together and suss out that I’m physically tired, maybe even have a …

Considering it was 0% under traditional patriarchal modes of operation— yeah, actually lol. Much feminism. Lmao that’s a 400% increase from without feminism. A field doesn’t have to be exactly 50/50 to be “feminist”. Just whatever x>0% that it was when women were literally barred from it lol. No one ever said “women need to make up 50% of the army! Just that the women who are interested (despite cultural norms and being raised otherwise) have the ability to do so. Youre fighting a straw man dude…

Like I linked the other commenter, 43,000 women are there in Ukraine fighting now that the war has already started. Go find it and read. And many less women in Ukraine, probably especially among women who left, would even identify as “feminist” compared to other countries like US, UK, Germany, Scandinavian countries, etc. So women in general leaving is still not a dunk on “feminism” lol. Not every action a woman takes is feminist, because not all women even are feminists lol. And (obviously tbh)…

Doing something just to say they did it Lmao women literally joined. What are you talking about? This is not an argument. You’re not a mind reader, mind reading isn’t evidence, and the real evidence of women actually joining these fields disproves this outright. I can’t believe I’m even responding to this lol. Absurd thing to say like it’s reasonable and factual in a debate. Underrepresented in manual labor and warfare Hmm.. could it have something to do with them not being wanted there and lega…

That’s what participating is— not resisting, blinding doing what your culture has always done without thinking is a form by-standing and is participation lol. And again, participating at one point, in something that was already started, is still not causing it. Which is the argument the OP commenter was making. Tradition and patriarchal beliefs caused it. This is objective fact. It is nonsensical to pin feminism as the cause for something that began before it even existed. The argument is that i…

Huh? I’m not even sure what you’re saying here. Added to what? The patriarchal norms that already existed about war? No they didn’t add to it, they just hadn’t resisted yet, as I said. Resistance which feminists have done consistently since then, much more than reactionary anti-feminism and tradition ever have. Consistent post-1920s resistance that makes the argument OP was making about males fighting in Ukraine or any modern war a result or hypocrisy of feminism completely incoherent. Again, as…

Yeah— a cultural practice that is as old as Ancient Rome lol. Men have always been shamed for avoiding service in wars, long before feminism lol. And, sure, a specific subset of feminists in certain countries at the turn of the 20th century hadn’t evolved and shaken that historically patriarchal idea off yet. Feminists are still products of the cultural they grew up in lmao. They joined in what was already the patriarchal norm at the time, they didn’t create it, they just hadn’t resisted it yet.…

It means blaming a millennia old behavior on feminism, which hasn’t even had a slight foothold on the culture for even 70 years, is bad argument for how “feminism harms men” lmao. That’s basic logic. So no, I’m sure plenty of those men don’t want to be cannon fodder, but it’s not feminism’s fault anymore than it’s fucking Buddhism’s. It’s just an incoherent argument. And feminists have campaigned to be allowed more than just nursing and clerical positions in the army all around the world. It was…

Men fighting in wars and women and children not doing so is from way before feminism lmao. In fact it’s like the definition of patriarchal gender roles. And most feminists are anti-war in general. This point makes absolutely zero sense lmao

Pot meet kettle? My opinion is based on the data— the exact opposite of you. I’m not saying “you’re wrong because you’re ignoring people”— I’m saying you’re wrong because you’re extrapolating your personal experience to society at large when the data doesn’t support that. I’m not even sure you understand what I’m explaining to you if you think this is a “pot meet kettle” moment. If your experience with dating were reflected in the numbers, go ahead act like it’s average— but in this case it isn’…

I don’t know how to break this to you… but people tend to end up in spaces in with people similar to them. If you’re a man who struggles with women— you’re probably not going to find yourself socially mingling with men who do well with them. You have different interests, different rhythms of life, different spaces IRL, and just overall different lifestyles. And that’s just in person— online is even more of an echo chamber. 20k men complaining about never dating sounds like a lot until you rememb…

I’ve always thought a lot of the more rage inclined, rant-y, “everything is fucked and I’m doomed” ones would be diagnosed as borderline if they were women. The black and white thinking, splitting, rejection dysphoria, neediness, clear hierarchical/game theory thinking in interpersonal relationships, emotional outbursts (especially about what they think people think about them that sounds bizarre to any third parties), hostility/idealization, grandiosity, lack of insight, risk aversion to puttin…

There’s not a single woman on earth that you would call hot, and fantasize about fucking, but never actually date/marry? Or a lifestyle that seems exciting for a little bit or in an alternate reality, but you know would make you miserable long term in real life? It’s fantasy. Do I really want to ride off on the back of a motorcycle and travel the country, bathing in gas stations? No, in reality it’d be gross and dangerous. But there is something romantic about doing something drastic and differe…

Yeah no, that has literally nothing to do with it, at least not for me. and I’ve craved/done both with anyone I’ve dated long term, so it’s definitely not just a “strictly this type with this guy” “strictly that type with the other one” thing. It’s literally a just a “mood” thing— like picking a meal. What feels like it would hit the spot right now. Sometimes it’s lazy and gentle, other times I’m dying to get thrown around a little. Usually it’s just random what kind of stuff I’m feeling, but I …

Exactly what I was going to say. I was artsy and had a strong aesthetic sense very early on, and I always ended up hanging out with either the uptight (usually religious) Pinterest crafty girls, or the makeup/hair/nails/fashion girls. They were the people who were interested in conversations about color pallets, shapes, textures, application techniques and tools, etc. No one was ever excluded, but not everyone wants to talk about which shade of pink goes better with which shade of cream and what…

I mean like women who wear makeup don’t get called names? Clown-faced, fake, lipstick on a pig, painted like a whore, high maintenance, vain, “like two different people”, trashy/dated, insecure, etc. People are going to have opinions on what you do with your appearance— that is not a uniquely male experience, not even with makeup. Every girl that you think supposedly “jumped two points with makeup” has people who think she looks terrible or has issues. It’s the price of using it.

And then acting self righteous when someone brings up cell functioning— “see, called it!”. I mean.. yeah you did… but you didn’t really argue or offer any evidence against it lol. Exactly. If everyone is wearing makeup, then the 9s with makeup are still 9s comparatively to the 8s, 7s, 6s, etc. The women would still exist in the exact same brackets they do now, just look a little more tired lol. No one is going from a 3 to 9 with makeup when the “real” 9s still look better barefaced and also have access to makeup lol. They just look like a dolled up 3 next to a dolled up 9. Makeup works even better on people who have naturally good features to highlight, so if anything, 6-…

Exactlyyyyyy. And, as if men go “oh nooooooo, I must repent and change my ways. What, oh god, what, have I done to the culture?” every time similar talking points around women exiting the dating pool come up. They have the exact same response as those women on this sub every single day— “good, natural consequence of their relationship desires. I mean it’s reasonable to want a lot of things. I’d want a million dollars in my bank account tomorrow, and I think a lot of people could relate to that want. Reasonable to expect, though? The person who understands why I want a million tomorrow— I work hard at my specific job, and money is often tied to hard work— would still tell me I’m discounting other, additional factors like the field I’m in and the temporal aspect of how fast that is (by tomorrow) that still make the expectation unreasona…

If she leaves, then that’s not the woman he “got”… obviously. I’m talking about general bouts of monogamy interspersed with bouts of singleness before settling down with “the one”, which even the most average man can and does accomplish in current day, but (silently) isn’t good enough for the men on this sub. The dating market isn’t “fair” or successful in their eyes unless they can generally “play the field” and attract large amounts of women consistently and simultaneously. “Success” and “fair…

This is nonsense. Have you ever heard the term “necessary, but not sufficient”? It’s a basic tenet of logic. Having gas in the tank is necessary for a regular car to run, but not sufficient. You’re not getting anywhere without four non-flat wheels, an engine, etc etc. That doesn’t make “well you need to fill up your tank, first of all” bad communication to someone asking why their car isn’t getting the results they want. Her statement can be 100% true— that she likes tall men and preferentially …

This is exactly why I don’t give men dating advice. They don’t hear advice or probabilities with all the limited controllability of reality, they hear a a promise. All you’ve done is make him feel like the woman who didn’t like him has broken some sort of vow, and given him “justified” anger at her for it. Have you ever heard men call women “liars”? When you actually drill down and ask about that, they basically just describe us not being a monolith or a video game they can grind out. The fact w…

I genuinely think a large amount of “pilled” men on this sub would be diagnosed Borderline (BPD) if they were women. Seriously, go check out the common beliefs/behaviors/cognitive distortions. Go read the posts on the borderline sub and compare them to the rage/pity/poorly coping posts, about the exact same thoughts and feelings and fears, on here. It’s uncanny. They’re exactly the same. Yeah I got to that part and was waiting… like and….? It’s not women’s fault you have zero hobbies or social network and have to specifically “go on the prowl” like an animal. It’s not that hard to have a life, it’s a pretty reasonable expectation of a partner. It’s hilarious how the chronically online men in this sub see having mutual friends or a mutual hobby as this outrageous, 1/100,000,000 thing when it’s an incredibly low bar to expect in circles of well adjusted people. Please take a look at your own comments on this thread and on this sub in general and see if they would qualify as “shutting up” the way you just used it and proposed it for women. They wouldn’t. DTMFA? What are you even talking about? I touch grass regularly, so you’re going to have to fill me in on whatever bizarre man-o-sphere acronym that is. In your comment you describe literally anything women say about their dating life as either “bragging” or “complaining”. Leaving the only option to not be wrong to you (the man) when they talk about dating as: to just not talk at all. When they do the “correct” thing or are struggling. And were upvoted. Is it fair in that men can find sex partners as easily as women? No, obviously not. Is it more fair when you consider the higher risks women hold going into relationships (short or long)? Yes, quite a bit more so. Mostly though, I don’t think dating should be “fair”, if by “fair” you mean “guaranteed success for everyone involved”. Nothing that’s completely optional (I don’t have to date anyone my whole life) and consent based can ever guarantee success for everyone or you’re taking away people’…

I mean that’s just the difference between consent and not consent? Like “wow you let that hot guy you like bang you, but when I do it I’m a sex offender?? Fucking women and their different rules for men they’re attracted to” Like, yeah I’m not going to be mad if a guy I think is attractive and I’m flirting with is in my personal space. I consent to it. That’s absurd. We’re genuinely living in different realities if you think men never comment on women’s appearances, in the media or otherwise. The literal president did it. Every Ben Shapiro type online, including Ben Shapiro himself, has done it to AOC. You’re either being extremely intellectually dishonest in this conversation or it’s just so natural to hear that you barely notice it. Either way, reality says you’re wrong. Don’t make me wrong. If you have to discount the ENTIRE internet, and stick solely to fashion paper media, the only place that kind of talk IS relevant, to erase the cognitive dissonance you have about men doing it— lol you might just be wrong. As a woman who has experienced it, I categorically disagree. At best it’s 50/50. Men constantly talk about how sexy/gross any women they see are, which very often includes calling their clothes and styling “granny” “trashy” “Karen” etc. Especially in contexts where it’s completely irrelevant, like an older female politician. It’s always some random men in the comments bringing up how “gross” she is or how bitch-y her haircut and granny suit looks. Do girls and women care more about fashion and s…

Yeah it’s typically aimed “outsiders”— be it via race or sex, etc. So I agree that race is relevant in why they bothered AIMING it at Obama (when they typically don’t think to for white liberal male politicians), but the reason people recognized and called it out as ridiculous at much higher levels (by a completely different group than the one who originally deployed it) is that he is male, and that most men aren’t used to fashion critiques aimed at themselves or other men. If you watch a video of any woman— doesn’t matter who or what they’re doing, there will comments about their appearance. It’s constantly evaluated. I can watch a video of an old male politician and not find a single comment about what he looks like. Why do people push back about caring about n-count? Probably insecurity. Probably the same misguided idea that the widest appeal possible is necessary to find anyone. Possibly because of perceived hypocrisy and historical ties to unsavory acts against women. I don’t know, I personally don’t care what n-count opinions men have. I can guess as to why other women do, but again, I’m not their keeper. We’re just as varied in our opinions as men are and I don’t have to answer for them. This really doe…

I’m not blaming or faulting anyone**. I get the impulse. Being understandable on an emotional level doesn’t make it a great strategy in reality, which was the point I was making. I think most men are capable of finding someone. I just think that it might only happen once in their entire life, or only twice, or only three times, etc. That they may spend long stretches in between people. And that trying to increase artificially it is an exercise in wasted time, lying, and warping their own mind. And I don’t think that fact is pointless, fruitless, or redundant. /r/PurplePillDebate14/07/22 03:45 PM

I just categorically disagree with the “get numbers -> apply filters” idea. The tactics work on the types of women they work on. They are a filter in and of themselves, and I think the continued rage men feel despite applying these tactics shows that if those are not the type of women that you respect or that you could have a truly fulfilling relationship with, then this tactic doesn’t actually make you “better at dating”. You guys debunk your own method every day with how rage filled you are at…
/r/PurplePillDebate14/07/22 12:54 PM

Inauthentic is anything you’re not going to keep up over the course of the relationship. Or that a partner will see eventually for what it was— a tactic. Inauthentic traits are transitory and strategic, and as such are always a pretty bad basis for trying to find a partner. And no, not really. I think asking the question of “how” is inherently implying there’s some monolith (or should be), and the rage at there not being one (and thus there being no truly good advice) based on not much but misog…

No irony, was speaking on the men in the sub where that is titular question. Also, more importantly, no where do I imply that that one commonality makes it possible for me to give any woman advice on dating you all. Despite the trend on this sub that I was commenting on, I ultimately recognize men are individuals and give no advice based on that one commonality. My whole point is that there is no “dating” advice, and that that’s not the result of any “wrong doing”. There’s only life advice because women are people and “game-ing” dating hasn’t actually made you all successful either.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/07/22 12:33 PM

Well, firstly a lot of men want to be with many women and not only find one. Yes, as I said word for word in my post. Because they do not actually want to date, they are seeking ego comfort and a social hierarchy ranking, which women often misunderstand when give them dating advice. Women give them advice on how to get in a relationship (which is what they ask) and don’t understand why men get mad at that advice and say it doesn’t work on everyone. They didn’t realize it was supposed to. That wh…
/r/PurplePillDebate14/07/22 06:10 AM

YES. They always view dating as getting “women” in general and ask advice along that vein, while women tend have A man in mind, who they already like and want to connect further with if they ask for advice and talk about dating. Like I’m amazed at how generic or inauthentic the men on this sub recommend being just because it’s been proven to “up the numbers”— as if upping the numbers inherently makes it good dating advice. Or they think that there's ONE type of personality that women mean when they say this, and see deviations from the success of that personality type as evidence that personalities don't matter at all. It's why I object to the idea of giving men advice on dating at all--- they cannot help but filter anything you say through their belief that women are a monolith, and if two women contradict each other in their desires, that they've done something "wrong". If we can accept that some men put things like "love to work out" to weed out undesirable (in their eyes) women, why couldn't women, who typically get even more messages and attention online than men, do the same thing? If you don't want a couch potato, post about how much shit you. It's common sense without being an actual asshole. But you seem committed to a specific narrative so... okay.

Uh... no, there are plenty of things women do to narrow down who they hear from on dating apps vs. men who are often trying to appeal to the widest amount of women possible (although they do this too. A la "I love working out" to weed out overweight women, as opposed to finding it being particularly impressive about them self.) It's actually a very good point by OP. I have a super "conventional" appearance (it helps in my industry), I look "sweet" and apparently super approachable---all this des…

the chance that we have the issues you are talking about are slim to nil The... issues? They aren't issues. They're facets of the data themselves. No type of distribution is ideal over the other, it's not a "problem" to get a distribution that isn't the classic Normal Distribution, they all just exist and describe different sets of data and are different from each other. Anything you can plot on as distribution has one of these types of distributions (like Normal vs Bernoulli) that it best appro…

Random in that there isn't defined "way" it's supposed to be. Sexual attraction (or conventional attractiveness) is a cultural phenomena that changes based on the incidentals of one's time and place. Not random in that it comes out of thin air. It's enforced by human culture, but human culture is just created as we go and shifts over stretches of time and across places. And I'm not scared at all. I've never argued that they don't, just that it's not some huge act against nature and "how things s…

Your whole assumption comes from the fact that you're STILL assuming that the distribution of people labeled attractive would have a meaningful "average" to find. An assumption that is based on an assumed natural Normal Distribution of sexual attraction. It's very likely that for respondents anyone who wasn't a "hell yes" was a "hell no", and their answers are valid by definition. Which would turn the results into something like a Bernoulli Distribution, with no meaningful average between the tw…

Basically what's skewed is women's standard of how many attractive traits a man is supposed to have to be attractive. Skewed in what way? It's a random human phenomena. It's not "supposed" to be in any certain way and has changed drastically over centuries and across cultures. There's never been one "way" it always was or is supposed to be. You are aware that attractiveness is modeled with a normal distribution in pretty much every relevant scientific paper right? It isn't. You're talking out yo…

Its the attractive traits that plot a normal distribution (according to CLT) , not women's perception of them. This is hilariously circular logic. How is a feature attractive if it's not perceived to be? "Attractive" features do not exist objectively outside of the human mind. Features that increase chances of survival in a situation? Sure. But without that situation, and no new cultural appreciation for it, it just becomes "a feature". A feature that does not increase the ability to gain partne…

Sure, for one, humans are some of the most complex animals on earth and one of THE only animals that passes on shifting and nuanced cultural values to their young. "Attractiveness", accordingly, as humans, is a partly cultural phenomena when compared to other animals for whom it is entirely instinctual and only changes under high selective pressure. Humans, on the other hand, have minds that create art and perceive aesthetics in ways no other animals do (culturally). So is the actual distributio…

Phenomena within large populations follow a normal distribution. On a 1-10 scale, the center of a normal distribution is 5 . They TEND to have normal distributions. There are plenty of other distributions that are found in nature and have names and whole books dedicated to them. You should read one. It's called the "natural" distribution but it's not a literal law of fucking nature like gravity. That's absurd and no "the math" does not work like that, as you wrongly and smugly replied to /u/Hell…

Yeah it's the accent and the actually being from somewhere else part. It's why the effect is stronger for Brits/Australians/French etc. in the US and almost non existent for Canadians. Even if you're of indian descent, you live and grew up here when you're swiping on girls in the states. You don't have the accent or the conversation about another country to talk about. You have to understand that when posters say stuff about women on this sub they're exclusively referring to instagram bunnies and wives from sitcoms. I thought I made this very clear, but "externalizing feelings" in this context is referring to where the BLAME is laid (on yourself versus on a thing or idea outside yourself) NOT whether you are opening up about those feelings. That 100% depends on the industry. There may be less women in the work force in general but there are definitely fields where they equal or even outnumber male counterparts. Made up for by industries where it's rare to find any women whatsoever.
