Serious dilemma Not sure where you got the idea that UTD is academically superior... to give you some context A&M is ranked as the #11 engineering school in the country and UT Austin at #9... UTD by comparison is #80. That being said, go to UT Dallas for two years, take advantage of your scholarship. Then apply to transfer to Texas A&M or UT Austin to finish your degree (both of which are far superior to UTD academically). And you don't need some sort of magic 'million dollar idea'. Identify a need and execute it well and you can generate a business that can make over 250k. Save it, reinvest it, and you can become wealthy. The problem is the average person doesn't do this.
