It is better than becoming a plumber, doctor, or baker. It shows selflessness to spend a portion of your life, risking your own defending the freedom of others. Now that's a whole other can of worms, whether the military has really defended liberty recently; but that is to no fault of the soldier.

You need to learn some respect. Being a veteran doesn't mean someone seeks out "unjust violence." Serving your country is an honorable action, definitely a positive attribute. While there are many vets who have PTSD, it is not at all reasonable to blanket all vets as unstable or paranoid from the things they've seen in service.

Are you married to her? Do you both have names in some sort of document such as an apartment lease? If not, and she does not change her mind, you should leave her and consider telling her employer. It's a boolean situation - stay or don't. If someone cannot understand that a sex organ shouldn't be mutilated, she doesn't deserve a job in the medical field or a significant other who cares.

There is definitely pandering to girls, however. Venturer scouts were born out of that, and my old troop before I moved was threatened with a lawsuit to let a girl join. She quit later because she couldn't handle sleeping in a tent or carrying her own gear or chopping wood. But my current troop hasn't had any bullshit like that. Thank god for a scoutmaster with an iron fist on preserving core values, troop wouldn't be the same without him.

This is almost 2016. Circumcising a child for sanitary reasons just doesn't make sense. Most of the time, people have access to a shower and soap and can clean themselves regularly. It is NOT an excuse to cut offs part of a baby's genitals.
