Yeah I'm not even going to continue commenting because people do not want to believe it which is fine but like...the amount of scams that are being run on men who go to these countries to find their "demure perfect wife" are jaw dropping. I've been told a few in detail...they have it figured out. They're willing to date outside of their ethnicity and culture and very likely move an entire continent away. Sounds pretty modern to me. And they're on their Ps and Qs to get to The West. I wonder why?…

Lol! A free meal and unreasonable expectations on dating profiles is the worst kind of manipulation you can imagine? Bless your heart. First worlders live in a fantasy. Both men and women. Those same women going on dates for food are crying over loser men while searching for their prince charming, while first world men hold onto these fantasy idea of a Mad Men type wife sitting at home all day with a roast in the oven. Most people here don't know struggle and don't even realize their own delusio…

I'll argue it's worse. Those women are far more savvy, intentional, and manipulative than any woman you could get in a first world country. They know why you're there, they know what they want, they know what you want from them, and they know what your prospects mean to them. A 60k salary a year is more than they could make in 30 years. I've spent months living in a passport bro highlight destination. I met other foreigners, knew the women and even translated for them. If I tried to warn someone…

Hm, clearly you've never known anyone hospitalized whose life partner was not able to visit them because they were not legally married. When children or parents had to make life or death decisions that they were either too young to make, or that went against the wishes of someone's life partner. There's an overwhelming amount of naivete and ignorance in this post, but then again, I'm not surprised.

You need a combination of both. I've dated purely for passion and purely out of calculated logic. Neither worked out or were sustainable. Figure out the nonnegotiables of who you are and what you need in a partner, and then find people who make you feel like you can fly. They won't always be the same person. Follow your heart and your gut, but stay true to what you know about yourself and your needs. It's not always easy, but it's the best policy (or goal if you will).

It's exactly LARPing. It's so funny to come from a culture where the sort of "trad wife" ideal was heavily and aggressively enforced until somewhat recently. On one hand you're looking for something that literally NEVER existed, on the other hand you are cosplaying poverty.

I listened to a BBC podcast about daily life for young people in South Korea, I couldnt believe it. One woman was an accountant and regularly went more than an entire day without sleeping. Her free time was catching up with friends for like an hour or two, then work, 3 hours sleep, more work. I can't imagine how anyone in that culture has the time or energy for a family.

I went on a research rabbit hole and it's super disturbing. Apparently its the HIGHEST IN THE WORLD and we aren't talking about it like the crisis it is?

Yes it's insanely sad. I couldn't help but laugh when I was reading an article from his country about how the family and country are falling apart because now a whopping 2% of families are single parent households. I'd be curious to see some studies as to why the single parent household rate in the US is so high.

"jobs paying more for a reason" is such a fallacy, especially when you get into high level degrees and corporate work vs blue collar work. When I was in grad school I dated a guy who worked blue collar job 12 hours a day 6 days a week, with a lot of physical labor. I made what he made in a day in 2-3 hours of tutoring. My current job isn't well paying for my field because it's public interest, but if I wanted to switch to a more cushy corporate job, I would be getting paid double and working hal…

That's a great position to be in. My aunt was able to retire around the same age because of great investing on her and her husbands part, she works as a part time teacher to little kids and LOVES it. Sounds like a nightmare to me but ya know, to each their own. Is there anything that you've always wanted to do, or some way that you've wanted to give back to your community that you've never done? (teaching, etc.)

I don't support any restrictions on access to birth control and I don't think the world would be better if sex came with MORE consequences. However, I do think women, especially younger ones, should be better educated about the physical and hormonal dangers of going on hormonal birth control at a young age. Besides the health risk, plenty of studies show that it messes with partner selection, which is kind of scary. An alternate perspective: My SO is from the Balkans. In his country, it's very u…

It's not even logical. If you're really worried about safety, statistic you should go for a smaller man since most crimes like DV/murder etc are by your partner.

I have a high level degree and a fancy job and my longest relationship was with a guy with a GED lol. I made double what he made. He was a really hard worker and that was sexy. I made more than like...almost every guy Ive gone out with. I know I'm an outlier but I make my own money, so long as the person isn't lazy I don't care.

Ugly no, less conventionally attractive, yes. I need to be attracted to my partner. Most of my exes/flings were attractive and probably my looksmatch, but that becomes less important once you start building a relationship. I'd rather have a less attractive SO than one who gets smashed at my Christmas party and embarrasses me, or one with fuckboy tendencies cuz he's cute and he knows it, etc.

I'm pretty extraverted and chatty so no. I've also never needed to approach a man for a date or anything, but I've struck up plenty of conversations with random men sitting alone in bars. Last guy I went after pretty aggressively I started the convo, we had fun talking, and I gave him my number. He was working though so I sort of had to be aggressive there. 😅

I mean I work in a big place. Most 35+ are married with kids/coupled up. A few in my age range are married (27-32) but not most, that's normal for my city. But most youngish working professionals don’t make a minimum of low six-figures. MOST is true, but not so for my field. 😅 If you play your cards right, get into a top school and want to suffer, there are jobs waiting to pay you 160k post graduation. I imagine that's true for careers like computer science, engineering, etc., but I don't know. …

Yeah I mean statistically you're right, I'm just assuming based on her focus on the man's career that she's a working professional looking to date other working professionals. I'm also a working professional and in my field even if we all don't make exactly 6 figures, we make close enough. In my professional group I can think of quite a few guys who fit this description, but again, that's my life and my circle, and theres a lot of intermarriage. Personally I don't care how much a man makes and t…

Whaaaaaat? That's not true. Almost all of my male friends are like this, only caveat being most want kids. But for the most part it looks like a pretty normal list for a woman in a professional field wanting to date another professional who isn't insane lol.

Thats nice to hear, I grew up in the area. Miami DEFINITELY the men pay. NYC it seems to be "split the bill" among working professionals.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/12/21 08:25 PM

LMFAO. I've dated Southern Europeans and Latin Americans, literally all have insisted to pay. Living in a major US city, it's definitely the norm to split dates when I go out with American men, especially in my city and socioeconomic class. Whereas my current SO is Balkan and he won't even let me buy my own groceries when we're together. But sure, my lived reality is a lie. 🤣 Maybe more woke parts of Europe or Asia? Dunno.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/12/21 04:52 AM

I see the rationale, but I think you should be able to get a vibe from the type of woman if you're worried about being used for your money. I date mostly foreigners and the guys I go out with, including my current SO, always insist on paying. The amount of money I make isn't even a factor. If I'm lucky they'll let me split a check once in a while. When I explain that it's more common to split dates in the US, they're appalled. None of them have been losers getting taken advantage of by women. I …

No. I have good genes, my mom is in her 50s and people think she's my sister. Plus I take care of myself. Moreso I want children and am aware of the biological timeline there, but you don't need to be married for that.

Not even a question. The only time I ever pay full price for something is when I'm abroad and shopping in a place known for its quality. I have two pairs of Italian shoes that have lasted me 3+ years, and a leather jacket i bought in Argentina in 2013 that i still wear regularly. Hell, I'll be buried it in if I can. All under each 200 dollars. Sure a one time purchase of 200 dollars isn't cheap for an article of clothing, but if it lasts, it lasts. Whereas, the boots i bought at DSW last year ar…

There's nothing I would do for a female friend that I wouldn't do for a male friend. I literally helped my male friend MOVE A TABLE the other day, okay? And that's a lot for me because I explicitly hate moving and lifting ANY object. None of my male friends "send me money," that's not a friendship. The most theyve done is buy a few drinks for me because I had to spend a shit ton of money on my dogs vet bill. I'd do the same! That's actual friendship. Not whatever you're talking about.

I think how people handle stress effects it too as does medication and nerds tend to be more likely to be on medication. I'm a nerd on meds too! And I try to be understanding but at some point, I need the D. Did you ever run into the issue of initially the sex is good but after the initial dating period their libido starts to drop a lot which was super frustrating for you? A lot of high libido women I talk to complain about that issue. This was exactly my issue with my ex. It fucking suckedddd. …

Just bad lol. My instinct told me the guy had ego issues, he named dropped Harvard a bunch, but he never did anything wrong necessarily, and he was nice enough, so I was like, "eh, lets be open minded and give him another shot." Second date, everything was fine, until I beat him at scrabble. He completely lost his shit. Insulted my job, my education, my upbringing, like...it was unhinged lol. So yeah. Been sticking with my gut from now on.

For women, have you ever felt like you could have better handled your actions with a man you cut off early? 100000%, but I'm talking more long term things, not first date stuff. I have some attachment issues so I used to cut people off because I just didn't have the EQ to like, argue, and I'd get so anxious if things weren't black and white. I'm better and therapized now, but I still have zero chill. I have scared away MANY men because of it. It's something I know is a problem and I actively wor…

My basic experience with nerd women is it almost feels like they fetishize the CEO or frat boy mentality dude in sales even if they themselves were in the engineering department. I don't see how dating a fellow engineer is dating down so it just leaves me so confused. That's super lame. That's not my peer group but I believe it. I still think it's about status. Some nerdy girls also carry weird issues from high school, like being the nerd that the "cool guys" didn't want. That was and is still a…

I used to never sleep with guys on the first date but at this point I'm open to it if the chemistry is there. And like I've said, I've dated both. If i didn't date the super nerdy guy why would I include it?

That is exactly what I hear these women complain about which makes me really not understand why they keep wanting this type. If you know you hate being treated as submissive why do you keep going for dominant guys? If you know they don't want someone smart can't you understand that means they are not going to like you? At least in my experience, a lot of women are afraid of "dating down" due to social pressure, plus it's just who we run into most often if we're in that field. My personality is a…

I have a very masculine personality as a woman, but I look and present very feminine. Anytime a man hits on me I'm just like my full forced self intentionally so I can tell if they can vibe or not. No need to waste either of our time. My male friends will be like "look youre hot, but I could not date a woman like you." Which is fine! There are plenty of men who like it. We're all allowed to have preferences. But realistically, if I was less attractive, I'd have a much harder time dating lol.

I'm a woman and I date men. I'm highly educated. I do not like "business suit guy," I actively avoid men in my field and education level(doctors/lawyers). 99% of the time they want me to be dumb and submissive, and it turns into a competition. It has happened enough times that I can tell right off the bat whether a guy is going to have issues with me or not. Plus I'm assertive and a lot of guys don't like that either. My friends who don't drink cuz they don't like it (both men) usually just get a soda or club soda with lime, or they'll order a super low alcohol drink (like cider, weak beer or something) and just nurse it the whole night so people leave them alone. If someone harasses them I just yell at the person but ya know I have a big mouth lol. It's really shitty that you sort of have to "hide" that you're not drinking but honestly, both of my friends do it because they say it's less annoying for them to…

Lmfaooooo this was/is me. Not depressed but definitely emotionally troubled lmfao. I'm good and treated now but I feel bad retrospectively for the men who didn't realize that my perfect work-life and my generally outgoing, friendly attitude was in stark contrast with the fact that my personal life and mental state was a huge mess. Now, when I was youner... I used to get quite a bit of crap from the other guys about it. However, instead of conforming to their standards I just kind of embraced it. Hm how do you know she lied? I feel bad for women who do that but I know it's common. The only reason I'd "lie" is like as I previously stated, I forgot someone. I don't keep active count so I'd have to like go back and think, and when you're sexually active for 10+ years it's super easy to forget people. I mean that still leaves 40% though and while it's technically a minority that's still 2 out of 5 women. Men do worse in academic environments than women and it's dumb that women miss out on good guys because they don't have fancy careers. There's so much more to offer each other in terms of compatibility. With guys in my socioeconomic status, especially in my career field, it ends up getting competitive, either about status or money or whatever. I also think women can keep their dating value hi…

I don't make a guy wait if I want him. Why would I? The last guy I made "wait" was because I was about to get on a flight when we met. I'm picky but I have good intuition and know what I want. I'm not dating or looking to date at the moment, but my most recent hookups we had sex the night of, and still see each other. I'm back on the market after like 6 years of LTRs and not a single guy has asked me this. I think once people hit their late 20s/30s it becomes less of an issue. That's what I used to think but two of the biggest mansluts I know lost their virginity at 21? I was like damn wtf, I thought I was a late bloomer at 18. Combined the two of them have probably screwed half the single women in NYC.

Oh no theyre quite interested in me, I get asked out by fellow attorneys all the time. I just find it turns competitive or they tend to expect me to put their work before mine which is never going to happen, because I have no safety net and have to support my family. I would date another person in my socioeconomic class, it's just Im from a single parent working class family who really busted ass to get here. Its not the same with a lot of my colleagues. Many have generational wealth or educated…

.Laziness is unattractive. Work ethic is attractive. Exactly. Im a huge believer in work-life balance which is really missing in the US, but laziness is unattractive, full stop. I dated a blue collar dude who worked 60+ hours a week literally moving heavy shit and he still helped me around the house, took out the trash, cooked if I worked late, and still wanted to like, DO STUFF, and when he was working and I had time I picked up the household slack. It was ideal. Comparatively, I dated another …

Oh i mean I grew up in a suburban/rural purple state, we had first day of hunting season off every year. It's dumb to assume based on clothing or whatever. I mean do most city people think that? Yeah, cuz they're close minded idiots who don't realize how close minded they are and have superiority complexes. Which is why I avoid them lol. I mean you had me at the title, lost me at text. I'm a female attorney who lives in a major city, I tend to date blue collar dudes. Don't even care how much they make, as long as they work hard. I'm just not interested in the men in my socioeconomic class. They have little to offer me in terms of skills, compatibility, etc. Blue collar, hard working man? Yessir, let's go. I'm a woman, I've only done it one time in my life. I liked the guy, we had good chemistry, I wanted it and it felt right. Still seeing him. 🤷 I didn't say anything about it. Why would I? I'm a grown ass woman, I dont need to justify my sexual behavior. Maybe I'll tell him if we end up in an LTR or something just for a laugh because it was actually my first time doing that. I'm sure some women feel the need to make "excuses" because of judgment, but who cares? If you wanna fuck on the first date…

I don't think so. But it's nice when a guy does it, not because I save money, but because it shows interest and makes me feel like I'm being "taken out" instead of going out with a friend. This never happened in my past relationships, but I'm seeing a guy who I make more money than, and he always insists on paying. It's honestly sweet and shows that he's taking me seriously. It's also a realllllly nice change.

Some women's faces just take really well to makeup. They're both pretty without it but their faces are like perfect makeup pallets. Kinda simple, no overwhelmingly stand out features, cute button noses. Whenever people try to do heavy makeup on me I just look like a clown lol.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/10/21 07:35 PM

Personally I really don't like polo shirts, I think it's dad clothing lol. Slacks are fine. I think it's hard for a man to pull of shorts unless he already has a good sense of style. I'd switch the polos for button ups or just plain, good quality T shirts. No reason to wear a suit or tie unless it's a formal event.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/10/21 07:25 PM

Honestly just a plain T, jeans, and a nice jacket + nice shoes is really enough. Sneakers are fine so long as they aren't dorky. So long as everything fits. If you want to look more professional, just swap the T shirt for a button up. I find a lot of guys can really rock black turtlenecks as well. Just depends on the vibe you're going for. Also polo shirts can die in a fire. I think they look like shit and cringe when a man wears one.

I love Atlanta! Really beautiful city, affordable, lots of green space, and very fun. Also something for everyone, each little neighborhood is unique. My only complaint is the shitty public transit and horrible traffic, but it's a southern city so.

Even though I'm a man, I'm low key jealous of people who get attention from the opposite sex because of their looks. I mean I'm a woman so it's generally easier. I also did nothing to look this way so it is what it is, besides like, not being overweight and taking care do my skin. Of course I could be hotter but ya know, I got my grandpa's nose, kinda rude to change that. Just for clarity, you elaborated on why you don't wanna date someone who thinks the former. Meh I mean I look how I look and I get most male attraction because of my looks, but I have a very...non traditional personality lol. If someone just thinks I'm hot and they don't like my personality, it 100% doesn't work. But I also don't want to date someone who doesn't think I'm hot cuz??? I'm trying to get laid here lol. Yes! Depends on the man of course. Last guy I hooked up with was pretty Dom so he made it clear what he wanted, current guy is more quiet so I always ask before doing like...most things really. Except kissing and cuddling or whatever cuz you don't have to ask once youve established that.

Well for IG/Facebook normally for my family since I have a big nosy family. Mostly travel pictures. Nothing else really lol, unless maybe I have a fun night with friends. My dad once told me "no one wants to see pictures without people in it, especially for posterity. We can always look up a picture of the Eiffel Tower, but not a picture of you there." So that's my rationale. 🤷 I'm not a good person to ask, I don't post selfies.

100%. I'm on social media and OLD, I post very basic pictures of myself with no makeup, just hanging out and being myself. No thirst traps. I think there are definitely women who prefer that the men they date make more money than them, or who want the man to be the primary breadwinner. That's fine. I also think most people realize that in order to say, support a family in the modern world, two incomes are required.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/10/21 07:44 PM
4

Meh I disagree, capitalism is a false meritocracy, the harder you work doesn't mean the more money you make. Plus, wealth can be inherited, which has nothing to do with competence. I know and have dated men who work far longer hours and harder jobs than I do but they make less money, and I don't see them as less competent at all. Work ethic is more attractive to me than the amount of money a person makes.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/10/21 07:30 PM
2

Hmm. I'm a woman but I still don't really understand the question or options. Obviously I'd prefer more dating options, but I dont see why money has to limit the options. I also almost exclusively date men who make less money and have less earning potential than I do so. 🤷 It's not really an issue for me.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/10/21 07:22 PM

Oh that sucks you got injured. You'll be able to get it back, weight is so fickle, and guys gain muscle mass so much more easily. I live in a major city so my options are either gym (which I'm not doing now) or running/body weight stuff. Im getting back into it, but I just get so tired of being home all the time. Was so much easier to wake up, run, do my push ups/sit ups/squats etc then head to the office. Now I just wake up and...walk to the other room to work. 🥲
/r/PurplePillDebate12/10/21 11:33 PM

Ugh I knowwww. I weigh the same but I swear any weight fluctuations during COVID just ate away at my muscle mass. I used to be super active and have cute little abs and everything. Now all my friends are like "OMG EAT" and I'm like "listen I'm the same weight I just stopped working out okay 😭. " Just need to find a new routine with all the COVID weirdness.

Those aren't the standards for most women. Some yes, but they're completely unrealistic and the bubble will burst eventually. IME guys who have one of the three: make good money, genetically attractive, or in good physical shape, tend to do just fine with women. Personally I'm just not into white collar rich dudes or gym rats. Let the other women have them.

Mmm I think it will always depend on the person. COVID definitely hasn't helped. Personally, I used to always prefer meeting people in person: I'm social, go out a lot, talk to people, etc. Met all my LTRs in person. But my social group doesn't really reflect my type, so my friends convinced me to try the apps and I've been able to meet people who I get along with, but normally wouldn't come across IRL. I'm thin so this doesn't apply to me, but just to be fair, there are plenty of women out there who are blessed with hourglass body types and amazing fat distribution who can really rock that kind of weight. Some of my friends have 50+lbs on me and they look hot as shit. Plus that look is pretty in now (big ass, thick thighs, etc). Sometimes my male friends tease me that I need to gain more weight and it's like listen, I'm not gonna have a Beyonce bod lol.

Depends so much on the guy and how we get along interpersonally and sexually. I rarely hookup with someone I'm not attracted to in both ways. Chemistry doesn't have anything to do with flaws, it's just a lack of innate compatibility. Everyone has flaws, that doesn't mean you don't have chemistry with them. I don't think you can really force chemistry, but I guess a tip for you is to just focus on her and her interests and let her do most of the talking. That makes most people more comfortable. You can drop women too you know. Both parties should be selective and have standards.

I have a male best friend of many years. We act like siblings. The longer the friendship is, the more clearly platonic it is in my experience. I'll take my female friends to meet him and they'll be like "wtf you didn't tell me he was hot!" And I'm like "oh is he??" Like we just dont feel sexual attraction to each other. I don't think there's really an easily articulated answer to this. Think about it more generally: there are people you get along with in life and connect with (friends, etc) and people you don't. Someone can be attractive but after talking to them for a few minutes you can realize you have nothing in common, don't have a natural flow of conversation, etc., and that it's probably not worth continuing. Or someone might not be your ideal physical type but you realize you get along super well. Try t…

Idk, I think people are hurt, sad, and confused, and easily misled in their own mind. You can't prove a negative, so nothing will ever "prove" the alternative to something like that. Also "debating" is dumb, no one goes into debates with an open mind, you only go into it to prove a point. Anyway, i would gladly chat or game with such a person. I don't think you can really absolve negative feelings towards the opposite sex unless you have some generally positive experiences with them that aren't …

Oh no don't know if that's a compliment or not lmfao. Truthfully most practicing lawyers are super busy and the last thing we want to do is type more stuff online. I'm in a bit of a summer/post COVID lull work wise, so I have the time to mess around on reddit. Either way it's probably much easier and more fun to pretend to be a lawyer online than going to law school, passing the bar, and entering this hellish profession. 😬

Exactly. "Standard of living" is a factor as well!!! That's how the spouses of super rich celebrities end up with 100k+ monthly in alimony and child support payments. And can't keep up with the payments because they're excessive? Too bad, warrant issued for your arrest, while the "funds due" keep accumulating because you're, ya know, in jail. Anyway, this is why, ladies and gentlemen, I have never, and will never, practice family law, and why carceral feminism can go straight to hell.

THANK YOU. I've said this already on this thread but people seem to not get it. One of the most annoying parts of being an attorney is people being mad that the law doesn't work the way they envision it in their head. 🙄 No, for the millionth time, you cannot write child custody and child support into a prenup. Even if you do, a judge will not uphold it, it is illegal. Jfc.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/06/21 09:30 PM

Yep. I've helped a few people with amicable divorces pro-bono. The men usually just let the women file first. 🤷 It doesn't matter for the outcome.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/06/21 09:27 PM
2

I'm a child of a messy divorce as well so I get it. Most judges like 50-50 custody. They aren't enforcing the custody provision of the prenup because it's illegal to do so- the judge is just respecting the parents wishes without a reason to do otherwise. It's pedantic legalize, but it's important to recognize the distinction. I've helped a few people handle amicable divorces pro bono without prenups and the judges largely prefer to let people resolve their divorces and custody issues in the way …
/r/PurplePillDebate25/06/21 09:20 PM
1

Yeah but like I said, and we all know, people move around. And then you need to figure out the choice of law provisions in each state. If you signed a prenup in a state where the infidelity clause is legal, but then move to California, it's hard to say if a California court would uphold something that is per-se invalid in California. I think your point about hiring lawyers is the most valid though per this discussion. 😅
/r/PurplePillDebate25/06/21 09:10 PM
2

Unfortunately, these don't hold in all states, like California, for example. 🤷 See what I mean? Family law is a mess lol.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/06/21 09:05 PM
2

This is a good counterargument to the OP, but i would rebut by saying that if you can't afford two independent lawyers for an impartial and fair prenup you can't afford the ring, wedding or honeymoon either. Yeah this is probably true, but that's assuming people are rational creatures. Many people don't pay for big weddings or honeymoons either, you can just get married at the courthouse if you want. Also a prenup is allowed to touch CUSTODY PERCENTAGE which often determines level of child suppo…

Family court is literally like the wild west. There are few areas of law as State dependent as family law. The judges have IMMENSE discretion when it comes to stuff like asset allocution, alimony, etc, and things change so much over time in a marriage that it's hard to predict where things end up. Each state has different laws so far as what constitutes joint property, and if you sign a prenup in one state then move to another you could even get into choice of laws issues. Not everyone has acces…

Not always. It can be that you two get off to different things, or that both parties prefer to take a more dominate role, for example. Sex is primal so there can also just be a lack of chemistry in how two people move in that state. 🤷

I could be forgetting someone but i think 8. I've had 3 LTRs all longer than 2 years. I lost my virginity to my first boyfriend at 18 and we stayed together until I was 21. A few FWBs then my next LTR when I was about to turn 23 I think was 3~years long, then I met my current SO like 2 months later and we've been dating for 2ish years. Never had a one night stand or one time fling, it's not my style.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/06/21 06:57 PM

Yeah i think your instinct is pretty accurate. Almost all of my relationships/flings started off as friendships but I might be a bit more old fashioned that way. My younger female friends prefer dating apps and such but they get snatched up pretty quickly through that route as well.

TRP has an outdated view of what women find attractive, it's the male gaze assumed onto women. Study after study shows that women find humor, altruism, etc. more attractive than the big buff gym bro. Generally, culture is also a factor in attractiveness. In the 90s, the skinny blonde girl was the epitome of hot; now a more curvy figure is in. Personally as a millennial in her late 20s, I was in an LTR with a more masculine, traditional guy 8 years older and the relationship fell apart. He was th…

Yeah from what I've heard from my Finnish friends you lot aren't huge dancers. Contrast with Latin America for example, dancing and clubbing is a huge part of the culture and socialization. It's definitely not just about going to try to score.

Clubs exist solely because people want to have sex Man this is just sad. Are you American? Dancing at a club is so much fun especially if you go with a group of friends. If you hate dancing and it's not your scene that's fine, but there are large portions of the population who genuinely like going out and dancing because it's fun.

I'm in my late 20s now, but it was always just to have fun. When I was in college I'd flirt more with guys at bars or parties but it never went beyond that. Obviously the vibe from the guys was looking for a hook up but w/e. I love going out dancing with friends. Ive spent a lot of time in Latin America and that's just a thing you do. When COVID is over I'll be right back to that. Parties, they're mostly parties of friends at my age and I'm obviously going just to have fun. Bars...I used to go t…

100000% agree as a criminal defense attorney. This concept is sickening and screams of carceral feminism, which I'm really afraid in this new era of pseudo-wokeness is going to lead to the incarceration of more minority men. I could rant about what I see on the daily for hours but I can say for certain, it is very easy for a woman to make up criminal charges, ADMIT they're made up, and the man still ends up with a record or at the least an order of protection at the end of the day because it's e…

As we enter the grey area discussion we're going to need statistics so we don't fall to hearsay What statistics? Arrest statistics? To use them to demonstrate anything beyond literally, what gender/race was arrested for what, ignores so many qualifiers. It says nothing about convictions, false reports, dispositions, cares not for the realities of policing which are focused in low-income areas, and the different legal standards in different states for what constitutes a crime. Those shitty behavi…

I mean are we talking about criminal cases or lived experiences? Because those are completely different worlds. Many women (and men) experience sexual assault or even physical violence from partners and don't report it, for good reason. The US criminal justice system isn't the best reflection of general society, which is a totally different discussion. What's more common is just generally shitty and debasing behavior from men who come from stable, upper/middle class backgrounds who should know b…

it's not Connor the rambunctious college kid we are worried about.1% of men are legitimately antisocial. Creatures of the night. Monsters for all intents and purposes. These are the people we worry about. "teach them how to behave" is about are effective as "teach blind people to see". Eh I disagree with this entire argument. I've been to college, seen date rape/roofie parties/etc., very few of these men get punished or face consequences. Most violent crimes are committed by men with trauma hist…

Men commit more violent crimes, mostly against men, but also against women. Doesn't mean that "violence against women" is hysteria or non-existent. Yeah, not exactly "men". A tiny subset of the population who are mostly repeat offenders. They are often the most anti-social, disagreeable, and aggressive people in society. In my experience, it's mostly men who are the victims are trauma and abuse themselves growing up, who go on to inflict their trauma on others. Men tend to externalize trauma/men…

I've considered this with two male friends before, one of those "if neither of us is dating anyone by the time I'm 33 do you want to have a kid together" situations. Both men have been close friends of mine for years, want kids but struggle with LTRs and/or monogamy, and they have big wonderful families. I dunno, I think it would work out just fine. Might be a bit confusing for the kid but I'm sure it would be better than having a deadbeat dad or going through the crazy divorce my siblings and I…

Men are also far likelier to be the perpetrators of violent crime, so it's sort of a moot point. Doesn't mean women aren't also victims.

Wow that is horrible. Common law marriages are allowed in very few states in the US and they're pretty hard to prove even in those states. 2 years of cohabiting? Yikes.

As a woman, the obsession with men's heights really surprised me. It's 100% real. I thought it was overblown initially because I don't really care personally, but I started talking to men online about how being 5'9 made it impossible for them to get a tinder date...like what the hell? That's just really insane and horribly shallow, especially when some of these women aren't even 5 feet tall.

Lol y'all are nuts. Some people just like dancing, especially with friends. It's a club, not a swingers party. Ive been going clubbing with friends since I was in my late teens and I don't think I've so much as gotten a dudes number at a club, we literally go to dance. If a guy I was dating had a problem with that I'd laugh and laugh and then kick him to the curb.

Don't really see any trends in the way birth control has impacted my dating life, although I've only ever been low hormone birth control. Was on Nuvaring from the ages of 17-20 during which I dated a guy who was chill and somewhat effeminate. Then went off birth control for a year and didn't really hook up with anyone. Got a hormonal IUD and then dated a stereotypical masculine dude who was the total opposite of my first ex, so one effeminate dude on birth control and one hyper-masculine dude on…

You can't control what other people do. You could be the most perfect, suave, big-dicked alpha Chad in the world and your girl could still leave you, fuck around, or whatever. People are stupid and irrational. The best thing you can do is be confident, determine and assert your boundaries, and walk away when those boundaries aren't respected. You only have control of yourself. Besides, that sort of self-confidence is sexy and surprisingly hard to come by, especially to women who have guys consta…

Unfortunately, this is not true. There are many situations in which it's in a woman's best interest to give false statements to police about sexual assault, domestic violence, etc., especially if the police have already been called in response to a noise disturbance or something like that. Sometimes people are angry, high/drunk, or just caught off guard and make stuff up when the officer pulls up and starts asking questions. You don't have to file a police report yourself to be a witness or vict…

Non-marital domestic violence cases are extremely common, probably more so than DV cases where the people are married nowadays. Some states have statutes specifically for DV in cases of exes, etc. Still get tried and charged as DV. And even if there was an issue, you could still just charge with battery/assault/etc. There’s almost always a victim advocate assigned to the victim as well regardless of the people’s marital status. I dunno, I haven’t seen at least criminally speaking that the courts…

Fantasies are not the same as an actual desire to have something play out in reality, that's why it's called a fantasy. Now you’re just being pedantic, change the wording from submissive to most women in BDSM communities then, the issue still stands. Your title: most women are sexually submissive, then provide anecdotes and studies about women in BDSM communities. Don’t even disagree with your premise but the anecdotes and data about niche sexual communities doesn’t prove your point and is a misuse of stats.

The problem stems from women who follow the herd and either delude themselves into thinking they won't be happy with a partner or a child or who succumb to peer pressure and are too afraid to go after what they want. I'm in a white collar field, I've been shocked at the number of women who put on the "I don't need no man" front only to later cry over drinks about how they want a man and "want to one day feel a baby growing inside of them." Just because rejection doesn’t always lead to resentment doesn’t mean that it doesn’t or can’t some of the time. But I don’t think we really disagree, if you’re making it known to a person that you want to sleep with them and they make it clear they aren’t interested, then sure, the man was certainly rejected. And a man’s SMV is solely dependent on his looks. Why do you think that?
/r/PurplePillDebate17/09/18 11:07 AM

In what world are the majority of 10/10 men socially awkward or lack confidence? I don’t know? Never made anything close to that claim. When you’re getting to 10s of physical attractiveness or SMV there’s definitely more personal preference involved.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/09/18 11:03 AM

It is about aim, without aim there is no rejection. Constant rejection tends to make people bitter and resentful. Without an action, there’s nothing to spawn rejection. If a man sits around passively pining over a beautiful woman and perceives rejection because the woman doesn’t magically fall into his lap, then yes, it’s a false feeling of rejection. This is not true. They are still equally unattractive because a man’s appearance is more important than personality, charisma and self confidence …

I’m not sure bias is the right word if it’s the result of a mutually agreed upon decision. Overall it should depend on the circumstances of the individuals and the families. Generally, women do most of the child rearing and men are more willing to give up primary custody. In cases where the father is much more stable psychologically, emotionally, financially etc. and has an interest in raising the child, then the father should be given priority. If both parents have equal interest but the mom ha…

There are actually a good amount of men who aim for women with the same SMV, or at least level of physical attractiveness. Even if they objectively realize one woman is a 9 and the other is a 4, if they’re a 4 or 5 themselves these guys will focus on the 4 or 5. They’ll point out their version of the “hot chick” who is the furthest thing from the hottest girl in the room. I’d like to think there’s some sort of animal brain natural selection going on. IME guys who aim for women of much higher SMV…

What is the purpose of shaming someone for something like this? Of course it doesn't "make sense" as there is little to be gained by anyone for shaming in this context, beyond making someone feel inadequate. I suppose the most reasonable rationale would be to point out that for many RPers, it's not logic that underlies a RP worldview, but emotional pain and feelings of rejection. Emotional pain can cloud one's ability to analyze objectively the object that caused pain. IME the most zealous red p…
