You can't save everyone.. I know that you don't want to see your friend do it and let her go through the consequences but you can only really lead by example.. her other friend who does OF will eventually be in a bad place and you will still be standing. Hopefully your friend will see that you made the wiser choice..

Welp, just reading this made me realize I'm way too happy and outgoing on first dates.. If I had been more reserved when I met my baby daddy narc NVX, I'm sure he wouldn't have continued to pursue me.. It's a good way to weed out the narcs. And I have noticed I often got that pressure to smile and be open lest I be called a stuck up b*tch :)

Don't feel bad. I have a young baby (11 months soon) who takes up literally all of my time, I have a full-time job and robust friends circle and even then there are moments where I feel lonely. But that's just normal! It's normal to want companionship. But the reason I've stayed single (mostly lack of time) has been because I remember how lonely it feels to be in a love-less relationship. I am happier and full of life now that I've had no man in my life for 4 months (this is the first time I'm t…

Okay.... on IG: 18 I don't have snapchat, On Messenger/Fb: 30 something on my phone: over 100 I know it seems like a lot, but I am very very ruthless and I've been blocking even when I was a pick me. I have always been the type to block as soon as I see nothing going on. But to be fair, this is also because I was on dating apps all of the time and was such a PickMe that I would add whoever asked me for my profile info/number..I was such a pick me..smh..Now imagine my body count 🙃 (but I've been …

That's an interesting perspective. From now on, I will not even concern myself with anything other than making sure I get what I and my daughter want and need. How simple was that ? How simple was it to just realize that I've been set back by others' words like a grown elephant being held back by a stake.

How fitting, I only just started watching the show this last week. I could see myself crushing on man like Crawley or Branson, not only because they're handsome but because they showed that they truly loved and genuinely cared for their wives.

To tell you from personal experience, my mom married a LVM, my dad. It took her 14 years to separate. And she just seemed like a bitter old woman that got cheated on by her ex and swore off men for it, so I developed PickMe-isha tendencies because of how I saw this interaction between my parents. I was a fool. But I learned because my mother had candid conversations with me (even though I wrote her off a lot when I was younger) but also thanks to me making the same mistakes she made (but I left …

EXPLAINING TO THE WORLD THAT I'M NOT LONELY Have you ladies been in a similar situation? I'm single now and have a young daughter (she'll be 10months old this month) and her dad and I broke up in April, so almost 3 months now. I have not actively looked for a man in the same way that I used to during my pickmeisha days and after a pretty devastating break up 3 years ago. I'm allowing it to happen but I've focused more of my time on my career and on my daughter. I feel that loneliness less and le…

omg ! That last one is so true. I hooked up with a guy who was in his early 30s when I was 24. He had a 6-figure salary and seemed to have his shit together but that power imbalance and not really feeling connected to him because of the age gap is what made me fade out and stop seeing him.

Yes thank you, I didn't know grandparents rights exist. They live out of state, and it seems that they don't have much merit to try to take her from me. I am going to start the process of changing her name to mine and later on when I'm more financially stable, I'll petition the courts to give me full custody and I'll rescind child support payments from him.

OMG! My NVX was cheating on me too, I found out when I was pregnant. I never met his family cus he kept us away and I've only just met them after we broke up and my baby is 8 months old. I haven't spoken to my ex in months now but his parents, sister have stepped up and been reaching out to me for the last few weeks. I thought my situation was weird lol but now I see how common it is for a scrote to scrote..

My least favorite sexual partners (most of them because I participated in hookup culture for a while) were the ones without any sort of intimacy. My favorite sexual encounters were full of passion and love.. with men I cared about and had feelings for and who cared about me also.. Occasionally there were men who could pretend to care about me and who knew how to make it more passionate.. But unfortunately for me, I was led on, I was used and I fell in love with the wrong people. I'm not convince…

lol I just wanna remind y'all about something.. My ex never went 50/50. He always insisted on paying for everything. I pushed out his baby and got stitches in my crotch for it. Didn't stop him from being a cheating liar 🤪 (thanks FDS for helping me recover from my pickmeisha ways).

Omg! I was just on the phone with my baby's paternal grandmother and I was explaining just this same concept ! For a long time I never dated Mexicans because I was familiar with the culture and knew it wasn't cute or endearing when a Latino man said X or Y, I saw it for what it was, misogyny and I was turned off from it. But I fell for white men all of the time!!! Same shit, different race, different pick up strategies, different types of charm.

Omg I don't disagree one bit. My mechanic was just telling me that his mother had 12 kids and even then she was able to remarry. He said to not worry because I'm still young and beautiful and only have one baby and I'll be able to find a good man soon. And I said, nah I'm good I don't want to remarry I want to focus on my career and my daughter. And he really thought I was joking 😂 He couldn't wrap his mind around me not wanting to have a husband again???

Hey you're doing good. You feel sad and defeated now but that won't always be the case. At least you weren't strung along by a man who will inevitably faded out and/or ghost. If I were ready to date, I wouldn't want to be with someone who went through a recent break up either. That is not fair. He was most likely using you to keep from feeling lonely himself.. Lots of men these days can't stand the thought of being alone, it hurts their ego. But you're not going to be just an ego boost. You're g…

Okay, God damn. I had made a profile on a sugar baby site, I'm trying to get some extra cash without quitting my job. I haven't done sex work at all. and I was justifying it saying that men leave us with kids and no income and this was going to be my way to get myself back on my feet. I'm so glad I came across this. I'm only desperate and broke right now but I won't be in a few months time and now I know to just keep fighting on.. I will be fine some day soon !

Just say you like to be spoiled. The more men see that they have to spoil their women, the more they will. I will make it clear with any man I ever go out with that I expect to be spoiled and I will be turned off if he is not generous. No ifs ands or buts! Ironically it was my narc ex that spoiled me for the first time ever in my life, when he was love bombing me. He would actually buy me a lot of things all of the time too, including a car, laptop, etc. But he was a lying, cheater. There are me…

I think there's a reason they're all so obsessed with him, because he really is a good person. I'll seriously lose all faith in men if it turns out Keanu ever did anything horrible or turned out to be a creep. I wish more men were like him. It's not an unachieveable or unattainable thing either..

Thank you for adding that. I have a baby girl, and the baby daddy went AWOL. We each recently got entry level jobs but I'm already going to be out-earning him soon. I wanted to marry him because I needed someone to petition for my green-card. So it really does have to depend on personal scenarios, and it's got to be case-by-case. All we have to do is trust that we are here for each other to inform each other the cost-benefits of marriage.

I don't have much to add other than it is very common to live together before marriage here in the US, too. Even with children. I think it's a trend many countries are starting to go towards in the name of equality. Ask yourself, is living together and having children without a marriage beneficial for you financially and legally ? Laws are more progressive in Scandinavian countries in some respects, but do they justify not getting married ? If so, follow the FDS rule as much as you can.

I'm kind of wondering if I should warn the new victim or not..lol His mom met her just a few days before I showed up and she thought she was me. Apparently the new woman is 1. dumb and 2. rude. So I'm thinking he's already pitying her against everyone else.

I don't think it was ever going to be me leaving him, actually. I have been financially stuck for a while now (because I depended too much on his word) and was sticking around because I still had hope. He basically gave me the silent treatment again one day, and I got fed up. I told him that if he didn't contact me back within 24 hrs, that he and I would have absolutely no more contact and would deal with everything through the court. As the 24 hr mark came, I tried calling and calling. No answe…

Hey I was just texting with my ex's sister. She filled me in that he already brought a girl around and I mentioned to her that this break up is going to be especially tough for me because I'm not going to be letting men use me for sex just to try to get over him. She said that even though it's going to be the toughest, I'm going to grow the most out of it. And we all will.

Okay, I used to think it was my responsibility to help him through depression because he was going to be the father to my daughter, after-all, and I wanted to make steps towards creating a healthy, happy family. But if he never does anything for his own health, it's all pointless. I was wasting the energy I had on him instead of spending more time with my daughter or on myself. This is why FDS doesn't approve of dating men with mental health issues, because more likely than not, he's not taking …

Omg! I almost feel stupid too, for falling for these classic tactics. I had never been with a man like this, and have never need hurt as much as I have been with him but now I'm glad I'm on my path to healing, and I'm glad I'm finally getting my shit together:)

I'm not 100% out yet. He actually competent abandoned me and his daughter, without a job, money or car. He always told me I was better off without him, and I tried to rationalize his thinking as just low self-esteem. But he was right. He told me everything I needed to know right from the beginning. I just didn't listen. I have not had contact with him in over a month now. In a moment of weakness (something that happened here at home, and me being broke af), I went looking for him. I'm going to amend my post and add that my ex actually still lived with his family, lived leached off of them, and still wouldn't introduce us to each other (even after our baby, their first grandchild was born). He talked mad shit about the people he lived with.. So totally different scenario.. I think if your long-time SO wants to meet your family, then that's a green flag. If he doesn't even bother to meet your family after being official, automatic red flag. At that point, when your SO wants…
