I was making a joke. I didn't take what you said seriously. The thing is objectification puts fear in me. Sometimes its just a comment, other times it's a grab, and it makes me scared that it could become more than that. I am fully aware that the majority of guys checking out women would never assault her and I am not trying to make that argument. In fact sexual assault is about power, not sex. Unfortunately for me, objectification still makes me nervous, which is why female only hours at the gy…

He probably was always homosexual but you know how Victorians were. Plus his marriage gave him access to a pretty decent dowry, which he took full advantage of.

this made me laugh. I'll try to keep in in my pants around all your money, personality, and charm. By the way, I love being called a man hating disgusting pig. I think you left out mooch or maybe soul sucking?

No. I simply have no control over what people say or think. If people can practice decorum in some settings then they can practice decorum in other settings. You have no idea what I wear anywhere, that being said, I should be able to wear whatever I want without being objectified. My body does not exist for the pleasure of men. Were I marketing it that way, then it would be an entirely different story.

disagreeing with one point does not make one a troll. Perhaps you like being objectified but I, and many women I know, do not. It doesn't make us feel great to be on the treadmill and hear men talking about our asses. It makes us feel incredibly uncomfortable. If men want to do that then make sure women don't hear it. Constant objectification and catcalling makes me want to hide. A man wouldn't audibly comment on a women's ass in the workplace so then why is it ok in spaces like the gym, a bar, …

I don't know I'm an avid Zara shopper and it's tough to find clothes that are extra small and small in their stores. Their clothes seem to be running bigger and bigger and I wonder if it's because they've expanded into the US.

that or date an asian man. If looking western was attractive to women in Asia then I'll assume it's attractive to men in Asia. I have no idea because I've only ever been to China once. I thought the comments in the askMen thread weren't too bad. A guy got a girl to acknowledge that the bf was not in the wrong for not being attracted to her. Not all the comments were great. He's not the bad guy and the girl should have made changes in herself only if it was what she wanted, not for a guy. I feel …

yeah but she's lost 10 kg and had lipo and that seemed to appease the bf for a while. So I would assume she's probably not overweight anymore. They might both be better off on their own/with other people.

thank you that is helpful. I guess I became confused because yesterday many of the users were speaking about how there needs to be actual equality in our society, not pseudo-equality where there institutional benefits for being a woman. So I guess I misunderstood.

eating 500 calories a day will not help. You won't be able to maintain that and when you stop restricting as much you will gain it back and probably more. It's not about a diet, its about making a lifestyle change. Once again I suggest seeing a doctor, nutritionist, and/or trainer to help you make this lifestyle change.

I don't think I underscored the health concerns. I alluded to the fact that if she stays overweight, that weight around her midsection can be indicative of cute heart disease. She should see a doctor, perhaps a nutritionist or trainer, haver her percent of fat calculated and with the help of professionals come up with a workout plan, diet plan, and weight goal. She's taking about eating 500 calories a day and that she wants to restrict even more. Clearly losing weight on her own and listening to…

No I should have clarified that false rape claims hurt women in that it makes it that much more difficult for a women that has actually been raped to come forward and have her allegations taken seriously. False rape claims hurt the men who are wrongfully accused.

she's overweight for sure, my issue is with you telling her she needs to be around 120. You don't know what a healthy weight for her is. I said get healthy. That means eat right, work out, and lose weight. The weight around the midsection is dangerous because it can lead to heart disease.
/r/TheRedPill07/05/13 02:23 PM

look without seeing her body and actually being licensed to talk to her about her diet and a healthy body weight, you have no idea what a healthy weight is for her. OP get healthy and realize these are very biased views. I highly doubt any of these men are anywhere qualified to be calling you obese and ugly.

I do think there is a bit more nuance to a rape claim. I am aware that plenty of women make up fake rape accusations and that only hurts women because plenty of women actually experience rape.

I'm sorry you took such offense to my post. Luckily not everyone in this forum did and were able to give me a different perspective. I kept an open mind and I learned. I don't necessarily agree but I appreciate everyone patiently answering my questions and being receptive even after a poorly worded initial post.

well it's not exactly like that in the society where I grew up. Women are expected to be educated, cultured, sophisticated. But yes, there is a safety net in place. But I imagine its comparable to people with trust funds. The money was not personally earned and yet it is there.
/r/TheRedPill06/05/13 09:53 PM

No I'm Puerto Rican and grew up in Mexico. The latino alpha is quite different and latino women are quite different. My only disagreement is that I've observed plenty of men who were primary caregivers and some were alpha and some were beta. Also, there are female soldiers. Yes women are not drafted but plenty of women in the service.

That was a very specific situation. I realize many times it happens under different circumstances. I guess I'm still not sure if a man should have zero responsibility. I think the correct thing for a woman to do would be to state that it will be her child 100% and the man will have no parental rights, but it rarely happens that way.

interesting, I guess my culture breeds entitlement in women. But women in my culture also behave very differently from women in the US.

in what ways? is there anything women are better at then men? Is it too hard to compare men to women? I feel like stating that men and women can never be equal goes a bit against what I've read in this forum.

do you mind if I posit something just to play devil's advocate? We've acknowledged that no one has intrinsic value to strangers. My having a vagina does not give me value. However, in my experience, being an attractive female has given me value. Does that mean that physical attractiveness is a way one becomes valued? Or is the fact that I have a vagina make men think I am attractive and therefore the value I am being given is strictly because of my vagina?

you don't think there is any situation where a man should take some responsibility? Obviously not if she lied to him about using birth control or manipulated him in another similar way? Like what would you sugest if a man and women have unprotected sex. They both know the woman is not on birth control and they both know the woman is anti-abortion. The woman gets pregnant and keeps it despite the man being against it. Do you still think a man should not have to any form of responsibility. I know …

honestly I am trying very hard to be receptive because I think it's the only way I could get any sort of replies. I was curious and the idea of a male identity fits into research I've done for courses on risk factors in academia. This isn't my forum, I did not read all the literature, therefore I have to come from a respectful place with a very open mind. I came here to ask the question. None of you came to me. so I assume you oppose the argument that men shouldn't have a say in whether a woman has a baby or not because it's her body? I definitely do not think it's fair that a man is trapped by a woman but the baby will be growing in her body. So perhaps the gives a woman's decision a bit more value. Not that men should not have any say in the decision. I am completely against trapping a man.

ok thanks. I guess because I read its a sexual strategy forum in a society that hinders the development of a positive male identity, I thought it could lend itself to a racial framework.

do you mean race itself is not a risk factor in general or race is is not a risk factor in regards to a healthy masculine identity?
/r/TheRedPill06/05/13 06:42 PM

I'm sorry you still view me as a troll. I am not trying to catch anyone in anything. My questions about race had more to do with this forums view that the society in which we live hinder a positive male identity. I was intrigued if some races struggled more than others. My questions on race were never about racial background of women. I have also never read anything racist in this forum so I would not even begin to make that accusation. Race is important to me as I am a woman of a minority group…

you don't believe certain racial groups have more difficulty establishing a healthy collective identity specifically as men?

I also wonder if different cultures have different conceptions of the alpha male?
/r/TheRedPill06/05/13 06:08 PM

do you think they go easy on girls or just do not know how to reach the boys in their classroom?
/r/TheRedPill06/05/13 06:06 PM

ok, I get that. The only thing is I have never not aired a grievance with a boyfriend for fear of not having sex with him. Does that simply point to a gender difference?

ok, that anecdote is helpful.

I see how society allows for women to sexually assault men and physically assault men. Did you ever watch that Louie episode where Louis CK examines sexual assault? I thought it was quite poignant. What do you mean women using violence by proxy? Is society really still complacent to women trapping kids and using children as a way to get a check?
/r/TheRedPill06/05/13 05:57 PM

Thanks! Do you think a discussion on race and members identifying their race would benefit or take away from the forum?
/r/TheRedPill06/05/13 05:48 PM

ok, thanks, but I'm assuming you are not saying that all women have no interest in loyalty towards men? Only that you have observed women that have displayed no interest in loyalty towards men.

ok, do you mind my asking what your views on it are?
/r/TheRedPill06/05/13 05:45 PM

I ask whether this forum addresses those issues. Since it seems like this forum is about men becoming better men, then does the material address the challenges of race or is it color blind?
/r/TheRedPill06/05/13 05:45 PM

ok thank for this. That seems to sum up things nicely for me. Do you mind going into what kinds of things women do that socially men are not supposed to talk about?
/r/TheRedPill06/05/13 05:40 PM

I mean this forum states that we are in a culture increasingly lacking a positive identity for men. Do you believe that maybe certain races are even more lacking in positive identity for men while other races are less lacking?

Thanks for all users who entertained my poorly worded post. I am wondering if this forum views gender as a risk factor? If being of the male gender puts one at risk for example in the academic environment. My education professor views the male gender as being at risk, in particular in elementary classrooms, because often their behavior is seem as inappropriate which gets them in trouble and sometimes leads to poor academic performance. Literature we read on it suggested lessons where the student…

I acknowledge there are certain benefits to being a woman. Dating is easier, I am never perceived as a rapist or pedophile, also less pressure is placed on me by society. However, like anything, there are negative aspects. As well, being a minority woman has its own challenges. Which makes me wonder about the role of race in this forum. Is the red pill color blind? Does it address the challenges of other races?
/r/TheRedPill06/05/13 05:30 PM

ok that was a very helpful response. Thanks
/r/TheRedPill06/05/13 05:28 PM

You are absolutely correct. But I do think much of this forum is intertwined with how men and women relate to one another. So then maybe expressions about women are not so incidental?
/r/TheRedPill06/05/13 05:23 PM
2

how so? I'm honestly and sincerely wondering. I've seen some good aspects to this forum. Users have also clarified some good aspects of this forum to me and pointed me to more literature. I've also seen negative aspects to this forum. I believe I have focused too much on the negative aspects.

The men in my life have never been one or the other. I also read on this forum that cheating is in no way synonymous with the red pill. In fact I read a post where a man states he is going to cheat on his wife and most users told him that being alpha would be confronting his wife with the issues of their marriage. I agree and disagree because there is a time and place for everything. No one should allow anyone to walk all over them. That does not mean being an asshole.
/r/TheRedPill06/05/13 05:15 PM

ok thank you, I appreciate your response.
/r/TheRedPill06/05/13 05:07 PM

You are correct I was anthropomorphizing the forum. I see the issue in doing that. So I guess I am focusing on the very worst aspects of the forum as opposed to the forum as a whole? Kind of like only focusing on femi-natzi rants and thinking that makes up the entirety of women?
/r/TheRedPill06/05/13 05:06 PM

I've always thought I've only dated men who were alphas. The men in my life are confident, athletic, and quick to point out when I'm being a brat. However they also have been some of the kindest men. Have supported me in ways none of my friends have and have also taken my own criticism of them and tried to become better men.
/r/TheRedPill06/05/13 05:01 PM

I do see that. Thank you for pointing that out. My apologies about my wording, I hope other posts have clarified what I actually think.
/r/TheRedPill06/05/13 04:59 PM

I wouldn't expect more respect and some users have been kind enough to point out how the wording in my initial posts was counterproductive and signaled that I did believe everyone here was a misogynist. That was not my original intent so my apologies.
/r/TheRedPill06/05/13 04:59 PM
4

I guess I just have a hard time thinking that being a woman makes me amoral and means I will use all men. Do you mind explaining what you mean by the over-idealized view most men have of women?

Thank you!

So speaking disparagingly of women and viewing women negatively automatically makes one a misogynist? I do not perceive users here as misogynists. I have read posts where women are spoken of disparagingly and women are viewed negatively. That was my perception of the posts. Users here have a different perspective from me and I am trying to understand it.
/r/TheRedPill06/05/13 04:52 PM

I guess nothing inherently, I guess I was just taken aback by the tone of it. I've never heard men talk about women like that. I must be very sheltered.

I don't believe I hold any intrinsic value to strangers. I was wondering more so what value the women in the lives of these users of this subreddit have? Does that make sense? I don't think I should have intrinsic value but is asking for respect from strangers expecting to be valued? It's not a rhetorical I am actually wondering. Please stop referring to me as a troll. I read some of the actual posts and I believe I have been much more respectful. My apologies if I have been perceived as disresp…

I did read that. I read about how being the nice guy contradicts what users on this subreddit perceive to be what women actually want and are attracted to. I both agree and disagree with that idea. I also wonder if men can be both alpha and beta. I read it is on a spectrum, a man is not either one or the other. Could a man be alpha in some aspect of his life and beta in others?
/r/TheRedPill06/05/13 04:43 PM
3

I'm sorry but how did I dismiss hobnob? I believe I apologized to him and tried to be respectful. If anything he was immediately dismissive by just deciding that I was a troll. Regardless I did read the why are you here, in fact I mention it in another post and explain my question about that. I found the why are we here to be only a fact of this subreddit and therefore I am left with more questions.
/r/TheRedPill06/05/13 04:38 PM

My apologies, I did read the posting rules before posting and did not think my post was in violation. My question is because in the why are we here section it states that this subreddit is about sexual strategy in a culture increasingly lacking a positive identity for men but I've seen the material to go past that. There almost seems to be a lifestyle approach to this subreddit and also a fairly negative view on women. I would like to understand the perspective of this subreddit from actual user…

my apologies, I didn't mean to waste anyone's time. I am honestly coming from a good place but clearly I have offended you. I don't expect my mind to be changed. I want to understand a perspective outside of my own. I can see different points of views without agreeing with them.
