I think that's a bit of an exaggeration to be honest, male gender roles are just as damaging as female gender roles. Not to mention historically, the influence gender had on discrimination was tiny compared to that of class. Gender discrimination has only started to be dealt with in the past century because class discrimination has become less of an issue.

I can't think of any and it certainly needs to change. I think it's worth noting though that the way in which crimes are carried out by men and women usually differ. In the case of assault Women are more likely to encourage or manipulate others to do the crime for them. For some reason, this is usually punished less than people who've done the crime themselves. I've no idea why and it's not something I agree with.

When you generalize an entire group of individuals beliefs based on idiotic comments a small number of them have made you've already lost the battle for equality. Often people seem to think pointing out that something isn't sourced is the same thing as proving it wrong. If you don't believe what the person said or just want to double check for yourself then that's easily done. I've noticed this a lot myself. I've never seen merit to this argument anyway, perhaps I've had an isolated upbringing. Sexually successful men get just as much stick as sexually successful women, at least in my experience and even in popular culture, it's women who tend to propagate anything close to this stereotype. The reason all this keeps getting more and more insane is because the vast majority of men won't stand up for the rights. I wasn't suggesting all sports, just most. Obviously a sport solely focused on physical prowess is a no go. There's no good reason why a girl couldn't compete in a team sport however.
