Testosterone is one Hell of a drug.

Been on dating apps since years. Step 1: get off the dating apps. Their business model is closer to the gambling industry than a matchmaking one. They dangle the chance of a better prize in front of you that is just out of your reach. They do that because they rely on the bulk of the users staying subscribed for long periods of time and the best way to do that is to keep people restless, always chasing the big win This will lead to the kind of behaviour you describe - you'll get an interesting m…

Meeting new people = yes Cold approaching women there = no Join a hobby group for yourself, not to hit on women. If you do the latter you'll end up back at square one, just more cynical. You probably also won't be welcome back after hitting on anything with a pulse. I don't know where things went so wrong, it may well be Pick Up Artists amplifying some pretty poor dating advice and some guys seem to feel they need to be approaching random women constantly and trying for phone numbers. Back in th…

I was once dumped for being "too nice" but she said, via a friend, she'd reconsider if I was prepared to "treat her worse". I walked away. That's her problem, not mine, and I wasn't prepared to give the situation any more valuable mental real estate. You shouldn't change who you are to suit people who are always going to play games with you, find someone who likes you for who you are.

she didn't want me to be committed as there won't be any physical contact between us So someone largely unavailable again. You might want to have a think about that.

the fifth girl, was in a relationship and then distanced herself, sixth girl is in a relationship but a good friend of mine You are setting yourself up to fail, I know the heart wants what the heart wants but this is just making a hard task trickier. It's worked out for me before but it's also led to a lot of heartbreak. the fourth girl reciprocated but said no (as she was shifting and knew I am a physical person) Not really sure what this means, but I'm old and you young 'uns may have found new…

This isn't a dry conversation - it's hardly a conversation. She either thinks very little about your friendship or she is milking it for attention. Either way she is putting in the bare minimum to keep it alive. You can make allowances - is she working incredibly hard, for example? She may just have no energy left for chat. However, she might be expected to blow off some steam about it. My oldest best friend doesn't talk much, never has and I've always done the heavy lifting on the communication…

however my parents...I truly understand their concern and I don't blame them, their worried I may get hurt and it's absolutely understandable but I really feel I need to have this skill under my belt, how do I ensure that it'll all be ok? You can never guarantee that you'll be OK as everything has risks - you could take up pottery and be blinded in a clay-throwing mishap. The important thing is to reduce the risks involved in any activity, which in this case means you find a decent school run by…

They didn't have prom here when I was at the right age (it's A Big Thing now, thanks America) but I'd imagine it would have been a shitshow, so it's probably for the best.

Gym, music, walks, it all is nice but I can't spend 12 hours doing it without it getting drab/exhausting. To be fair most things will get a bit dull if you do them for 12 hours straight. You could try a smorgasbord of hobbies rather than one long stretch at any one. There are solo RPGs and board games with a solo option. You could try and get others involved in playing too. Or someone else mentioned 3D printing - you could print stuff for games, assemble and paint them. So you are doing a variet…

Because of all that, I freeze next to her. I have stomach ache, sleep issues, muscle shivering, I am really anxious. I cannot get tactile anymore. Sounds like you have PTSD, it would be well worth flagging this up with your therapist, especially if other unconnected events trigger it.

It's surprising tricky finding a guide for first-timers but I ruined my Google algorithm and found this. Enjoy but always lock the door. Showers are fine to domit in, baths get messy.

A man doing the same will be thrown out, and not gently. Back in less regulated times a man harming or threatening a member of staff would tend to be taken out of the back door and kicked up and down the alley. When I was young one of the biggest dangers on a night out were the bouncers who (at least roundy way) were run by a local gang and largely on steroids and/or cocaine (at least until the guy running them was shot).

Do you think that men are just naturally violent? Like it's just an inescapable part of our nature? Violence in men is down to a whole range of factors: Gender expectations - it's getting better but men are still expected to be strong, aggressive and not talk about their emotions. That's going to create a lot of anger, not helped by certain parts of society advocating make violence from parents of bullied kids telling them to go and go and punch the bully, to partners expecting men to sort out o…

The body dysmorphia, to me, is especially worrying. You have a LOT of these male fitness and weight-lifting influencers promoting this muscular body type as "natural". (Newsflash: it's steroids!) Also the time given over to how film stars got their superhero body through training and diet. (Newsflash:...

I even see this argument made in regards to things that are nowhere near necessities to living a healthy and fulfilled life, i.e. sending Christmas cards to the right people Well that's another social landmine I've blundered into. I don't send physical Christmas cards because it's wasteful.

Yeah, I can sympathise - I went through a bit of a crisis in my 20s and 30s when all my friends were getting married, having kids, etc. Getting over the need for external validation helped, as did a form of mindfulness, although I also accept I may have just run out of fucks to give. What has become clear is that few people are really happy - most of my married friends aren't, the divorced ones are still licking their wounds and even the happily married (and my sample is skewed as I tend to hang…
