Relationships are hard, but worth it. Both partners have to put in effort to make it worthwhile. If it's one-sided it won't work. People complaining everyone is boring are usually not able to keep themselves entertained which is a red flag. They have unrealistic expectations; and do not realize how dull they are (often more boring than the people they criticize).

I live in a college town this is like saying you live in beverly hills and extrapolating everyone in america must be thin, rich and attractive. you live in a town with more educated people; education correlates with being less fat. go see rural/middle america or any location with food deserts and you will see a much different demography (and body types).

The way you meet women is the same way you meet men Men should learn how to make a lot of male friends. Then make a lot of female friends, and then girlfriends. The rules are the same for everyone. A lot of guys have low social intelligence and this would help improve their skillset.

"Don't judge a book by its cover." How they look doesn't determine how they behave. To presume otherwise is unfair; give the person a chance to show who they really are. In every level of ugly to attractive there's a range of bad to good people. Anything else is confirmation bias.

I like to think I'm pretty objective. Women are morally superior to men on almost all dimensions lol

All of my friends in school and college are happily in relationships In this instagram age, I think the word "happy" is thrown out way too much. People fake it all the time, even close friends, and it's near impossible to know what is genuine and what is not. Real relationships are hard.

So I don't get why everyone responds to people who are having dating troubles ... where they're fully and totally responsible for their own success or failure, and that they just need to keep trying harder to succeed, because it doesn't work that way. Then don't try - that's completely your decision. Good luck.

The very lonely men with no woman contact are a small minority it's a sliding scale. There's terms for men in other countries that are isolated (eg Hikikomori in Japan). Men without any contact with women is probably small. But there is a crisis of general loneliness in many countries. In a digital age where we're all connected so many more are lonely.

what's happening to the typical thirty year old Typical American 30 y/o (both men and women) are overweight to obese and take terrible care of themselves. I'm translating "typical" to mean average.

The headline doesn't state causation, only correlation. It doesn't say that housework causes less sex, it says that men that do housework have less sex. We don't know why this is. The reasons people have sex is varied. Housework or lack or it doesn't factor into the top 5 reasons couples have or avoid sex. As a thought experiment: If you do a ton of housework or do none, but keep everything else the same. It won't significantly change the number of times you have sex.

why should ppl have children then? To propagate the species. People come up with a lot of other reasons, but we're genetically wired to reproduce.

Any post that starts out "change my view" is from someone who doesnt want their view changed. It's a waste of time to argue with these people. They're actively looking to argue their position, not find holes in their position.

in two short sentences you’ve shaped my perception of you and i’ve never seen or met you. how you present yourself matters. think about that. i’ve never seen you and immediately have a negative perception after reading two short sentences; you can’t blame the shape of your head. get rid of that downer vibe. be someone others want to be around (fun, confident, a leader, or whatever works for you) instead of being a pity party. i did upvote you for putting yourself out there in all your self doubt…

why is it that so many men give up entirely on improving themselves in any measurable way? It's easier to blame everyone else but themselves.

Having been to a mostly Male engineering school and spent a lot of time around military guys I can absolutely say men absolutely change their view of how attractive a girl is based on what's available. Also true for prisoners. Guys change their gender preference in the most extreme cases. They just need a warm hole.

Yeah, there are definitely leagues. The Victoria's Secret model isn't going to date any schlub. She has her pick of hot, rich, smart, fun guys/gals (some who have all these qualities) lining up outside her door. That's her league. If you're average Joe Schmoe (100 IQ, median $50k/year wage, driving a Honda Civic, decent but not outrageous personality) that has his act together but otherwise unexceptional, odds are poor. If women are such branch swingers/hypergamous (that men like to claim), why …

Offer and demand mismatch Welcome to Lake Wobegon where everyone thinks they are above average. Another post today described the average male: https://www.reddit.com/r/PurplePillDebate/comments/b3r175/is_casual_sex_a_luxury_that_most_men_cant_afford/ej1gzfn/ Median male stats Overweight 5'9.5" $31,000 a year income High school education 100iq Sedentary lifestyle Harmless disposition Many would describe him as fat, short, dumb, poor, lazy, but in reality he's average.

28% of homosexual men had more than 1000 partners: "Bell and Weinberg reported evidence of widespread sexual compulsion among homosexual men. 83% of the homosexual men surveyed estimated they had had sex with 50 or more partners in their lifetime, 43% estimated they had sex with 500 or more partners; 28% with 1,000 or more partners. Bell and Weinberg p 308." I'd like to know how many partners lesbian couples and straight couples had. I'd expect lesbian couples to have the least number of partner…

A lot of people argue, despite being given solid advice. Arguing is a defensive mechanism to protect a fragile ego. They are easy to identify. Ignore them since advice is being wasted. The smart ones will shut up and listen, even if they disagree.

All long term relationships are hard. Both need to work at it, or it's likely not going to be a healthy one. Working means both sides communicate clearly and effectively; both sides need to just fucking listen and put aside their egos. Most people are terrible at communicating. Even more are terrible at listening. Living together is hard. It sucks to live with anyone because they just irritate you and do stupid shit. We're also a pain to our partners (it goes both ways). Every relationships has …

Is it still flirting if there is no possibility of sex ever happening? This is the definition of flirting: https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/flirt to behave amorously without serious intent // He flirts with every attractive woman he meets.

You'll attract more guys if you learn to dress and look "sexier". Sexier depends on the person's attributes; whatever your best attributes are, figure out how to show them off in the best way. Also good posture helps.

The main thing (for me at least) is: Take care of your family and friends since close relationships are the most important thing. Treat them as such. Everything else follows from this. That suggests not sacrificing family and friends for money or fame. Don't work so much you never see them, or screw your friends over for a few bucks. It's easier to be yourself and express yourself, and therefore be happier when you're surrounded by quality people. They will accept all your quirks. When I'm elder…
