Except it clearly isn't. Nobody is satirising the idea of this being an example of rape culture and harmful. The reason this movement doesn't get taken seriously even at times when it should is because there are people parading around calling themselves things like "rapey_raperson" and nobody calls them out on it. Though of course you realise World War II ended almost 70 years ago right? You can't compare conditions from 1939-1945 to today. Women we treated like utter shite in the 40's, but obviously we don't use that as an example of how women are treated now.

Yeah, one of the biggest issues with this subreddit, and a reason it gets a lot of criticism is that rather than be scientific and balanced regarding rape claims, it ALWAYS assumes the girl was lying and the accused was innocent even when it has little to no information. Being skeptical is a good thing, but not when it's selective.

What happens if a man wants a child and a woman doesn't, by the way? Should we force the woman to carry out the pregnancy so the man has an "equal" choice. Or do we agree that reproductive rights are not and can not be taken away from women for "equality"?

I'd talk to her about having an abortion, and give her the choice since it's her body and I'm not about to force anybody into an expensive, painful and potentially traumatic (which it will be if she doesn't want it) procedure. So I'd do the right thing and help support my child.

Child support and alimony work both ways, by the way. Women can and do pay both. I do agree that more health spending needs to go towards men, but this doesn't need to come from the budget for women and vice versa, as that has never been how health budgets are written.

Okay, so change "any point in the pregnancy" to "within 4 months" and my point remains unchanged. Legally the woman would be left with two options: forced abortion or raising the child by herself while the man takes no responsibility. That is your solution.

Also, I believe that particular domestic violence law is outdated and detrimental to both men and women. Is it an older law? Doesn't sound much like modern feminism as it removes agency from women.

When did you decide I don't care about the rights of immigrants? We were discussing gender, which is why I referred to gender. I probably talk about immigrant rights (this is a big issue in Australia) than I do gender issues in my every day life.

Okay, so a man can decide at any point during the pregnancy that he doesn't want to be responsible for the child, leaving the woman to either have a costly, painful and unwanted abortion, or to raise the child without income from the man half responsible for the pregnancy, while the man just continues on with his life as if it never happened? Feminists aren't advocating for that law in Spain, and I'd like you to show me data suggesting otherwise. And regardless, Saudi Arabian law says women can't drive, and if we're going to examine all laws in all countries, you're about to find out women are treated a lot worse than men in most places.

Sorry if I'm being ignorant about MRA lore (and I'm sure I am) but can you or somebody explain to me which "discriminatory laws" you're referring to. I'm a feminist and a man, and I'm (for several obvious reasons) not an advocate of any laws which will discriminate against me, nor are any of the male or female feminists I know.

Okay, so MRA only looks at the male perspective of equality (which is literally the opposite of equality, since it's looking at something from one side, by the way), because Feminism is already supporting the rights of women? It sound like she was telling a joke that she didn't realise was inappropriate. Instead of acting like a baby and being passive-agressive on Reddit, tell her it made you feel uncomfortable. If she refuses to consider it, then you obviously have an issue.
