Bodyweight FitnessThe idea of lifting heavy weights is the massive amount of testosterone you release (the deadlift being number 1). Of course that doesn't mean shit if you aren't eating or sleeping. Same goes for calisthenics. | /r/askTRP | 07/07/16 04:19 AM
Saving MoneyBuy in bulk. Costco and Sams have an annual fee, but it's cheap like $30/year and worth it. I split shop. I go to HEB for eggs, oats and fruits, and Sprouts for meat and vegetables. Invest in a blender and a slow cooker. Most of the time, I just throw a bunch of shit that I think sounds good into a slow cooker in the morning, boom dinner's read when I get home. AND there's plenty leftover for lunch the next day. | /r/askTRP | 07/07/16 04:15 AM

Anyone available for a few back and forth pm's?This. I was feeling pretty anxious about 2 hours ago (haven't been anxious in years) and went to the gym for the 2nd time today. Squats kill anxiety and frustration | /r/askTRP | 07/07/16 03:25 AM
Running my life into the ground. Need TRPGo get professional help for your adderall addiction. If you can't afford it, go to Narcotics Anonymous meetings and grab a sponsor. I'm speaking from personal experience here. You need to fill the time of drugs and gaming with something productive. If you're broke, start doing pushups and chin ups. Every day. Every day. Don't stop until you can afford a gym membership. Start putting in job applications. Everywhere. You too proud to work fast food? Apply at Starbucks. It gets you used to being a… | /r/askTRP | 06/07/16 10:18 PM
Confidence and self doubt are my mental blocks. How do I overcome this?Self confidence is achieved through repetition. I personally believe that having to get tipsy to do anything is a false sense of confidence and is only setting you back. I suggest do some reading and start applying what you've read in real life. Listen to Art of Manliness podcasts and read his blog. Click on all the outside links he provides too. I'm also going to suggest squatting 4x week. Why? Because crushing PRs on squats gives you an amazing sense of accomplishment. Before Elliot Hulse went… | /r/askTRP | 06/07/16 10:03 PM
3x a week 5x5 squats isn't too much? That's not a lot volume in terms of beginner weight. Once you get to intermediate weights, the volume WILL catch up to you. Do yourself a favor, when you start stalling on lifts (should be about 4-6 months from now) don't drop the weight and start over. Instead start looking into intermediate programs. They take into account the weights being lifted and divides your volume throughout the week so you don't get burnt out and can still progress. Only do that AFTER you are missing your 5x5 lifts. 5x… | /r/askTRP | 06/07/16 08:56 PM

Biggest obstacle in my journey: becoming tolerant and less irritableSounds all to familiar. Do extensive reading on Epictetus' dichotomy of control. I used to think I was impatient but I was actually trying to control things that I had no control over. The situation/person wasn't bothering me, it was my lack of control over them. Another solution I've recently embraced was unplugging from all forms of media (aside from trp). I've always hated facebook so that wasn't a big deal, but Twitter and YouTube were my vices. I also don't watch TV at all. It sounds like y… | /r/askTRP | 06/07/16 05:29 AM
What your diet look like? Here's a weight gainer shake I use: 6 eggs, 2 cups oats, 1tsp coconut oil, dark cherries, blueberries, 2tbsp peanut butter, 1cup kale Macro count: 52g protein @130g carb (i don't measure the fruits) 38g fat Give or take 1,220 calories. If you're on a high volume program (which you should be for at least 6 weeks), drink that twice a day on top of the food you eat. I get my eggs from HEB. $9 for 64 count. Store brand oats and fruit. The only thing I splurge on is the coconut oil and kale. On a sid… | /r/askTRP | 06/07/16 02:31 AM

What set and rep range is best for aesthetics? You can gain mass in the 10-12 rep range, you can gain mass in the 3-5 rep range. The key is taking it to a 9/10 on the rpe scale. After all the linear programs I ran, nothing yielded better results than autoregulated training. It's high volume, high frequency and teaches you how to measure fatigue. Go spend a couple of hours on Mike Tuscherer's Reactive Training Systems forums. | /r/askTRP | 05/07/16 09:22 PM
Collected Advice and Methods for BeginnersAwesome write up. Two men that went unmentioned (and deserve an honorable mention) are Chad Howse and Brett McKay. Chad Howse usually posts motivational videos specifically for men and Brett McKay's (Art of Manliness) blog covers everything in this post from being frugal to how to boost testosterone to how to dress. | /r/TheRedPill | 05/07/16 07:37 PM
Dealing wth death, Give it to me straight boys. When my uncle died of cancer this year, I found solice by re reading Seneca's Letters From A Stoic. He has quite a few excerpts about how to deal with loss. But like others have mentioned, it's perfectly fine to feel sad. It takes processing those emotions and accepting them as a way to begin to overcome them. I would highly suggest giving Seneca a read. We're all gonna make it bro | /r/askTRP | 05/07/16 07:16 PM

Good workout routines with Dumbbells? Why would you be afraid of hurting yourself on a barbell squat? Set up safety pins and learn how to dump the bar in a failed squat attempt. Also if you're afraid of getting trapped under a bench press, just overhead press. Overhead pressing is the truth. Or you could bench in the power rack with safety pins. Problems solved | /r/askTRP | 04/07/16 03:23 AM
I will never be able to be redpill. How can I cope?I think the underlying problem here is that you don't question what you believe to be true. Consumerism, religion, blue pill philosophy. These are all things that are forced upon us at a very early age and the ones that are able to question these things are the ones who are successful at changing and improving themselves. You wanna continue to be a brain dead zombie believing and accepting everything you believe in, or are you going to kickstart some god damn change? Go start reading everything … | /r/askTRP | 03/07/16 02:50 PM
I fucking hate my brother I stopped talking to him for a month, today he comes crying to me saying sorry. What do I do?Why do you "hate him so much"? I have experience with this from both sides. Has he made poor decisions? Or does he just not act the way you want him to act? Ya know, I've seen a few posts on trp mentioning stoicism, but I have yet to find any real practical stoic advice. The philosophy of stoicism revolves around a dichotomy, things you can control and things you cannot, and being indifferent to the things which are outside of your control. Anything from the past, wether it be yours or someone e… | /r/askTRP | 03/07/16 02:31 PM

Feelings are for faggotsApparently some people are still under the notion that stoicism is about not feeling or expressing emotion...which is completely wrong | /r/TheRedPill | 01/07/16 10:43 PM
I've never sought the attention of women, but I've always wanted men to acknowledge me - why?Like other posters have mentioned, you need mentors. I was raised by my mom (dad left when I was 4) and obviously that impacted me negatively. I didn't have a male role model. Luckily, I found them in recovery when I got sober. I also went through the mankind project a couple years ago. It's life changing for a lot of people. It did help me get over my dad leaving and the fact that they're all about male development is another plus. If you're interested in developing as a man, I would highly rec… | /r/askTRP | 29/06/16 05:13 PM
What is better for size? 5x5 or 3x10The most important variable is adequate volume. You increase volume to build muscle then decrease it and increase intensity to get the best results possible. How is doing a set of 10 on squats to failure any different than doing a set of 3,4 or 5 to failure? It's not. I was my biggest when I was using Mike T's RTS program. The highest rep set out of the whole 9 weeks were sets of 5. | /r/askTRP | 29/06/16 02:35 PM
What does lifting do to your mind and outlook on life?I've been lifting for about 2 years now and I never really felt the mental aspects of it outside of the gym until I did two things: Pause squats and 2 months of the bulgarian method. The pause squats, well, pause squats fucking suck. Doing them after my squat workout showed me how far I was capable of pushing myself mentally and physically. Now I love pause squats because they increase my comp squat. The Bulgarian Method taught me two things: 1) I can make time to do whatever I want. If I really… | /r/askTRP | 29/06/16 02:25 PM
LiftingBefore I was able to afford a gym, I did bodyweight exercises and gained a pretty decent amount of muscle. Do a shit load of pushups, chin ups, and high rep bodyweight squats with that dumbbell. When I say a shit load I do mean a shit load. At the height of my bodyweight routine, I was cranking out 400 pushups everyday along with chin ups and squats. Look up sealfit exercises too. | /r/askTRP | 28/06/16 06:56 PM
Where do i find unbiased News? When you hear about a news story, understand that what you're taking in is your perception of someone else's perception. Then, if you're still intrigued, do the research to get to the facts. I try to keep an open mind and read and hear both sides of the issue (conservative vs liberal) and then form my own opinion. | /r/askTRP | 27/06/16 04:01 AM
from alpha to beta in less than few minutesYou're getting the answers you need but not the answers you want. That's why you keep posting excuses. Take what these men are offering you. They're giving you solutions so apply them accordingly | /r/askTRP | 27/06/16 01:16 AM
Overhead Press: To bend the wrists or not bend the wrists, That is the Question! The idea is to keep them as straight as possible. Yes they are going to bend but they should not be bending back a whopping 90 degrees. Youtube 70s Big '3 Press Fixes' | /r/askTRP | 27/06/16 01:06 AM
If TRP is just sexual strategy, then what about constructing a life philosophy?Read A Guide to the Good Life by William B Irvine. Great start to finding your philosophy of life. | /r/askTRP | 27/06/16 12:56 AM
Overhead Press: To bend the wrists or not bend the wrists, That is the Question! From everything I've heard and read (and from my own experience), you want the kenetic chain to be as strong as possible. Just like in the bench press, the wrists will bend a little. I noticed that as long as my wrists are 'locked' I don't have any discomfort. Another cue that helped me was (just like the bench press) squeeze the bar as hard as you can. It will automatically strengthen the wrists and forearms. | /r/askTRP | 27/06/16 12:37 AM
