1	How would you respond to initial pseudo-rejection? Good move man! This has happened to me a couple times and it doesn't necessarily mean rejection. Wait a week or two to ask again so you dont sound needy. Try to run into her at the gym and just chat a little. If she rejects you again it might be a dead end. Additional info: my (girl) best friend always rejects guys the first time they ask her out.
