Do not confront Bob. He has the power in this situation and will be able to spin it any way he wants. If you confront him, he'll most likely claim that you were aggressive and threatening. Something very similar happened to me and my lawyer told me to completely cut contact with these people. Anything you say to them can be weaponized and used against you. If anyone asks you about it, disconfirm the story but don't hand out details. WORK WITH A LAWYER. As far as the mental and emotional aspect…

I support this advice. I'd just like to add that most of the damage done from a false accusation isn't legal, but social. Being labeled a rapist totally destroys your reputation. This happened to me a few months ago and I lost 90% of my social circle, many of whom were childhood friends. Also, people are fucking stupid and vindictive. They want to earn points with the in-crowd by destroying another person's life without a shred of evidence. Because people are stupid and vindictive, I don't how t…

Wisdom right here. I don't know, maybe most of life isn't supposed to be tied up in a nice little bow. Maybe the only resolution necessary is moving on.

Everyone is saying this is a shit test, but you're essentially showing up to work in an undergarment. Unless you're from the hood or working on a farm, you aren't wearing acceptable attire at the workplace. What's the work uniform?

Same situation. I just shave my head. I haven't bothered with Propecia because it can cause impotence and negatively affect cognition. Having a clear head and a hard dick are far more important to me than hair. I also feel like by taking Rogaine, you aren't solving anything. You're just prolonging the inevitable and forming a harmful attachment to a physical characteristic.

Damn, so true. I worked with a 26-year-old guy who got married young. The women he married already had a child from her first marriage and he also knocked her up three more times like a moron. He would always talk about how he was the shit before he was married: he was fucking mad girls, had a great body, had a Mustang, etc. Apparently, he was always cool and just happened to turn into a fat loser that everyone hated after he got married. Anyways, he would always shit on people who were trying…

Someone who resorts to screaming is showing you that they lack self-control. Self-control is one of the qualities that primarily distinguishes adults from children. If someone is easily provoked, over-indulgent, or resorts to violence when the situation doesn't warrant it, they're an immature person that isn't worth bothering with. Over-reactivity is found in both men and women, but let's be honest, women are more likely to freak out over little things.

It's good that you're aware of it. Even if it's true, I don't think it's very useful to see yourself as better than other people or to see other people as better than you. People notice when someone else thinks that they're superior to them and are usually repulsed by it. Try to develop a little humility because there will always be someone more "alpha" than you. It's a game that you can never win, so why play it? When this thought pops up, recognize it, accept it, and counter it. Realize that…

You're incredibly insecure and attached to how people view you. Stop being concerned with being an alpha or a beta, human interaction is far more complicated than that.

Intramural sports are filled with young people if you do the right one. Meetup, on the other hand, I agree with you. Went to one once and it was super lame. Some dude and his wife and most of the people didn't show up. It felt awkward and forced. Other people have had luck with though.

I know a 6'2" guy who constantly brags about his height, yet can't land any attractive women because he's like a toddler in a man's body. He can never admit he's wrong, always whines and complains, blames other people and the world for his problems instead of blaming himself. I know plenty of other tall dudes who are in either shitty relationships or who can't get laid. Height isn't as big of a factor as many people here believe. It's a cliche at this point, but your personality and social abi…

Well, when my girlfriend exhibited the same behavior I checked her Facebook and found out she was cheating on me. When I confronted her about it she fed me some bullshit about how " I only act this way because when I'm with you I want to give you all of my attention." I was a fucking retarded 18 year old and believed it because I wanted to. There is a 99.99% chance she's fucking this dude or is getting ready to. I'd normally say find out the truth and don't give in to emotional reasoning, but …

Yeah, that's a good point. I guess that wasn't really the purpose of the book though. They're trying to explain why a certain generation of people seem to be doing so badly and how that came to be. They're also self-proclaimed leftists. I felt like there was a real effort throughout the book to not say anything too inflammatory. Overall, one of the best books I've ever read. So glad to see that there is still a semblance of sanity in academia.

Good approach. Talking politics with someone is pointless anyway. The other person isn't going to change their mind and will probably end up hating you in the end. I did the same thing in the presence of my old beta friends. Just agreed with the shit they said and tried to change the subject. I felt like I entered a surprise interrogation once when one girl asked me what I thought about Trump; all of a sudden all eyes were on me. Fucking weird. I just said "he's an idiot" and moved on to somet…

Maybe. I think this is just a momentary societal-wide lapse of judgment. This way of thinking is not sustainable in the long-term and will ultimately die off, or as you said, get us into some deep shit. Most of the people who think this way are overprivileged upper-class college kids who have lived in a world absent of all challenge and rigor. They've never known want. Their parents, school systems, and communities have provided everything for them at the expense of their emotional and intelle…

To what extent do you pretend? I've noticed in my personal life that most people think liberalism is bullshit and incoherent nonsense. But then again, I work in the trades. Everyone I work with has a very pragmatic approach to life and doesn't pontificate endlessly on bullshit; they simply don't have the time or care enough. I'm going to be entering the healthcare industry after college. Buddhism and Stoicism have a lot in common. They both acknowledge the inherent suffering of life and use similar strategies to overcome them. I've been practicing Buddhism on and off for years and my life is drastically better when I do practice it. You become mentally resilient and are given a framework to handle your problems. You become more compassionate to yourse…

Chilling on the sofa is just an example. It's just an analogy to explain my observations of male and female friendships. Of course, no one wants to hang out with you if all you ever do is sit at home and watch TV. Of course, no one wants to do something they dislike with another person. I don't get why you're making these assumptions. The comment is not about activities, but energy. Many women want to be emotionally stimulated constantly. They want to be excited, or thrilled, or whatever emoti…

Yeah I agree with a lot of this. I've noticed that you can be friends with girls too but under the very strict conditions that you set forth. They don't care about your shit and don't wanna hear it. They also only really stick around if you're positive or entertaining to them in some way. You can't just chill on the couch and watch TV like you would with a guy friend; it always need to be an "experience". The PUA community has helped me as well and I think it's necessary to a certain degree. There is just so much bullshit to sift through, although there's a lot less nowadays. Most people who buy that shit are just reading it to feel better about themselves. A majority won't even take the action. It just feels good to read something that tells you there are Victoria Secret models out there who want to choke on your dick and make you pancakes in the morning. I'm saying this because I read a lot o…

This comment should be at the top. Daygame is mostly a waste of time if you treat it like a hobby. When I go outside I'm constantly harassed by homeless people asking for change. No one enjoys being asked for their money constantly. Women don't like being asked for their pussy constantly. I actually do have sympathy for women when it comes to being constantly approached by randos. OP honestly sounds disgruntled as shit. I think you're completely right. I don't think camaraderie is dead, it's just difficult to find. People usually come together over some sort of common goal. That goal can be anything really: climbing mountains, getting fucked up, writing songs, feeding homeless people... Once that goal is gone, or people lose interest in it, the tribe deteriorates. I've experienced this in my own life multiple times. I think it's just normal at this point. I can count the number of people I can truly depend on on one hand. When I was younger …

I have unsuccessfully started lifting many times. I'm currently on a nine month streak; I think it's safe to say that lifting is officially a part of my life now. Here are a few things that have kept me steady. I got a coach. This was important for two reasons: I learned how to perform the main compound lifts properly, and it's a lot less likely you'll miss a day or pussy out when your money and pride are on the line. Investing is a lot simpler than a lot of people think. You should definitely read Bogleheads. Here's a simple rundown of what's gonna work for a majority of people over the long-term. Open a ROTH IRA and max it out every year. People say do 80/20 stocks and bonds, but why? You're young. 100% in mutual funds. I personally put 80% into the S&P and and 20% into an international fund. They also say this shit to every other guy they target. I agree that there isn't enough of an emphasis on the negative effects of a false accusation. I'm grateful because I haven't really lost anything of true value. I still have my freedom and career. I've only lost my reputation in a very small, insular community. I've lost a lot of shitty friends: people who didn't bother to hear my side of the story because entertaining anything but the accuser's account is conflated with forsaking the victim. There's still the psychological fallout to deal wit…

Found out a few weeks ago that a girl I dated in high school accused me of rape publicly on social media. I stopped using social media when I left home at 18 (early 20's now), so I didn't find out about the post until almost a year after it was deleted. Now, everyone back home thinks I'm a rapist because of her story. Lost a lot of "friends" over this and can't participate in my hobby back home anymore. I attempted to talk to one person about this calmly and they completely blew up on me and thr…
