| 1 | Wife and lover not working outBig no no… if your kids were able to adjust then don’t throw them back in an upcoming hell by having history repeating itself again Good luck | /r/Divorce_Men | 14/02/24 05:01 PM |
| 6 | Are there people who got to the other side of struggle and pain?I have been on the other side now for 4.5 years and I am probably one of the few lucky ones. My ex had been a nightmare all along the divorce (she initiated after her cheating). 15+ years married and she made sure to make it as difficult as possible to get it done quickly, asking for some crazy stuff. Why am I a lucky one : simply because around 6 months into the divorce a good friend of mine convinced me after moving out, to sign up for some online dating and meet some other woman. At first I w… | /r/Divorce_Men | 18/01/24 10:47 PM |
| 2 | PO Box and Own Bank AccountPersonally I opened a bank account under my name only the day after she served me the papers and then a couple weeks later, had all my paycheck goes there. I did inform her about the new account and the fact that my paycheck will go there so there was nothing hidden. If I recall I even send it in an email and text so I could have trace she was aware. Of course I did inform my lawyer about it; anyway he was the one that suggested it too because on the day she served me she emptied the bank accoun… | /r/Divorce_Men | 22/04/20 07:52 PM |
| 1 | California divorceDon’t rush into anything before talking to a lawyer - especially leaving the state: since you have kids involved and I assume you want to still be able to see them, then right now until the Court start to be involved it is best to stay around. At least that is my advice. Stay strong! | /r/Divorce_Men | 11/01/20 05:05 AM |
| 2 | California divorceIn California too, was married for 15+ years and ex wife had an affair too and served me the papers. Like you I was the bread winner and over time got a good career going on. Unlike you we had no kids, and after 15 months at a settlement meeting with the judge we came to an agreement where I only pay her a total of 4 installments (one installment a year) and I am done dealing with her. Of course we had to split all my accounts and savings. So she did get a good chunk but the most important for m… | /r/Divorce_Men | 11/01/20 04:45 AM |
| 2 | Going through the divorce process and I'm so sadIt does get better, but the first few months are hard. In order to recover from it don’t try to fight your emotions. Totally normal to go through them and they are part of the recovery process. There will be dark days and better one and over times things will look brighter. My personal recommendation: - if you were not active, join a gym at least to get you out and get some exercise. It will help you sleep and rest because your body will be tired. Oh and you can get back in shape. I have lost ov… | /r/Divorce_Men | 02/10/19 08:19 PM |
| 1 | Wife just said the following the court messaging app...I can imagine but going through your lawyer will avoid lot of issues... in addition there are some apps that are approved by the Court/judge for communication between patents and that can be monitored... so usually force the crazy party to think twice before blasting crazy stuff on text since the judge can review it. | /r/Divorce_Men | 22/09/19 10:08 PM |
| 1 | Wife just said the following the court messaging app...Believe me, it will just get worst if you continue interacting directly with her, and she will escalate to restraining order and other crazy claims... I realized how bad my stbx was during the divorce and since then went always through lawyer... it did end up costing extra $$ but it was worst keeping my sanity! | /r/Divorce_Men | 22/09/19 04:28 AM |
| 3 | Wife just said the following the court messaging app...Stop communicating with her directly... go through your lawyer, this is the only way she will listen... she reminds me my ex about all the lies she was coming up with, and when I exposed her in one of the last text messages she replied in all caps that I have to stop harassing her, and so on... My ex has some mental illness and I will not be surprised your Stbx has something too. | /r/Divorce_Men | 21/09/19 03:17 AM |
| 1 | Got served this evening after being out of town for work. Returned home and a process server was there. What was written in these papers.. horrible.. it’s “lawyer speak” according to her. Child abuser, drug abuser, alcoholic, cheat. Every possible thing. All lies. Never felt like this in my lifeNot going to go in details but no she doesn’t have any debts/loans to pay back. And definitely not the kind of woman to behave that way. | /r/Divorce_Men | 09/09/19 05:05 PM |

Child abuser, drug abuser, alcoholic, cheat. Every possible thing. All lies. Never felt like this in my lifeJust to be clear I am the one paying her 4 installments. She is a lazy person and tried to convince the judge she was disabled because she had one big surgery 5 years ago. The truth is that she fully recovered from it and was doing tons of sports: tennis camps for a week from 9am to 4pm, dance classes, Pilates classes etc... but claiming that she could not work more than 4 hours without feeling exhausted. She was dumb enough to keep me on Facebook long enough to get many screenshots of all of he… | /r/Divorce_Men | 08/09/19 11:25 PM |

Child abuser, drug abuser, alcoholic, cheat. Every possible thing. All lies. Never felt like this in my lifeNot really sure what was her hope. She has a few mental illness and so that doesn’t help to try to understand her logic (in fact there was no logic). She was making so many lies that in many cases I could just prove easily she was lying; it reached the point where she made so many lies with her first lawyer that she decided to change it because that lawyer started to be suspicious of her claims. She then got a second one who became too suspicious and so fire that lawyer to hire a third one: that… | /r/Divorce_Men | 08/09/19 08:04 PM |

Child abuser, drug abuser, alcoholic, cheat. Every possible thing. All lies. Never felt like this in my lifeMine did kind of similar statement (maybe not as bad) but at the end I learned that trying to counter any of her arguments was throwing money at her lawyers and mine. Just get a good lawyer and get an RFO for the Court: Request For Order. The RFO is what matter and what really the judge is going to look at. She made a bunch of claims that the judge didn’t really bother to look at. In my case there was no kids involved so she could come up with tons of things except some domestic violence which m… | /r/Divorce_Men | 08/09/19 04:57 AM |
