I witnessed my late ex's several attempts, which she would later claim were just "calls for help", until the last one was unfortunately successfull. I am positive she didnt mean that one to work out either.

That didn't sound like blaming her father, she just stated that girls without one are prone to ending up like her. I didn't see any blame in it. We shouldn't attribute everything any girl says, to the hypergamy, or we'll end up like the bitter feminists, finding misogyny in every sentence a guy says.
