In this sub, anyone can find a statistic to back up their preexisting opinion. Even if we could find the source data (which we can't) and even if we knew it were true (which we don't, there are just as many articles claiming that 80% of women only message the top 20% of men), don't you think that statistic is a little deceptive since there is no comparable opposite statistic? Since women, especially physically attractive women, overwhelmingly don't message first, even if you found true, controll…

Eh....No reasonable threat of physical harm, no reasonable intent to physically harm, no actual physical harm done. As much as people want it to be, this is not legally assault. It's absolutely sexual harassment or sexual assault (which is legally very different despite the name). And unfortunately, the brunette could absolutely be charged with assault, as this was a clear cut case of retaliation, not self defense. Morally I think what she did was justified, but legally she should have called th…

"At college" being the operative phrase. Pretty sure you just proved my point accidentally.

It's about money relative to your demographic, not absolute money. It's acceptable to be "college poor" when you're in college. It's not acceptable to live like you're in college when you're 35.

But... Did he actually cheat on his wife? It's implied that he did, but if he didn't, then what these two did is even worse.

I can't disagree, but your last paragraph reinforces RP beliefs. It kind of boils down to, "don't marry a RPer because then you don't have to work on yourself or on the relationship."

Are you a guy or a girl?
/r/PurplePillDebate28/04/16 03:46 PM

I suppose that's true. I guess that doesn't vary between genders much then. However (in my opinion only), I think attractiveness is much more variable among women. Meaning that a woman might be more attracted to a chubby guy with a beard than a guy with an otherwise perfect body who is clean shaven, whereas a whereas men's attractiveness is much more objective (not completely objective, more objective). A man might prefer large/small breasts, but if she's otherwise unattractive, he won't be attr…

That's true, but a 1% exception to a rule doesn't change the validity of the rule for the other 99%. Either way that was just an example, and doesn't change my point.

Are we talking purely physical attractiveness? I hadn't intended that. For example, a girl who's a vegetarian isn't going to want to date a body builder because of the fact that he consumes a ton of meat and likely wouldn't give it up for her. So even if she secretly loved the body builder body type, she would never date one.

I think people are attracted to people who they think are in the same league as them. All depends on how accurate your "residual self image" is.

That's why I said bell curves, not absolutes. I'm sure there are a few 2's in the body building community, just like I'm sure there are a few perfect 10s in here.

Actually....now that I think about it (and I realize how unpopular of an opinion this is): IF you could measure attractiveness objectively, accurately, and precisely (which I know is impossible), and you were to plot two bell curves, one for female "purple pillers on reddit in the middle of a Wednesday afternoon", and another for the general female population with the same age distribution, I would bet that the redditor bell curve would skew to the left a bit. How much to the left I have no idea…

No, sorry if it sounded like that way. What I was saying (theorizing anyway) is that your typical "body builder's girl" is going to be more attractive, more fit, and have a different preferred body type than your typical "average girl", irrelevant of her reddit status.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/04/16 06:33 PM

I'd theorize it's because a typical average attractive "body builder's girl", and a typical "average girl"average female redditor who subscribes to this subreddit, prefer very different body types.

In fact, they constantly make a point of saying that women do not deserve to be treated as well as your bros This is true if you specify "women who aren't already their friend", but that is all part of equality. Why would a guy treat a strange man as well or better than he does his friends? Men don't treat men who aren't their "bros" as well as they treat their friends....that's just human nature. I don't know any women who don't treat their friends differently than they do strangers either.

Devil's advocate here.... I know they overreacted to him, but is it possible that the story they told (that they were asked to start helping pack up a friend's stuff and got the wrong spot), was actually true? A lot of people react to embarrassment (especially recorded embarrassment) with anger, which would explain why she was so mad at the camera. Of course... Being caught stealing is also pretty embarrassing so there's that. And a woman who will hit someone in public would also probably be wil…

You're missing the fact that a huge part of a man's attractiveness is not (usually) immediately observable. If you see a mediocre looking guy with a model, you now have perceivable proof of a guy's normally imperceivable traits. This is a well known effect, I don't think you're going to get anywhere in this thread by trying to argue against it.

That was never the direction of the sub Um...you realize that "The Red Pill" has been a thing since before both the subreddit and reddit itself, right? It was "Here's how fucked things are (because of women, feminists, society, etc), here's what you can do to effect positive change" I think you're being a bit pedantic, but probably not worth arguing.

Why aren't RPers taking responsibility for the crazies in their midst and disowning clearly sexist crap like this? Because like any unpopular opinion on reddit, those sentiments get downvoted to oblivion. There are probably more men on the women's subreddits than women on men's subreddits, so an opinion unpopular to men has even less of a chance of seeing the light of day. You're right though, have of TRP could be uploaded to /r/cringpics and fit right in. Much like feminism, I think we need to …

An alpha male is confident enough in himself that he is going to act like he can dictate "how things go" (not saying he always is successful). If you go into a date with a Beta mindset (and it sounds like you did), your chances of it going anywhere a slim at best.

She wasn't interested before the date even started. She was late to a movie date, which is both the most boring first date idea ever, as well as one of the few first date types where being late isn't acceptable.

So.....what did you think was going to happen? You chose to go out with a girl who was leaving soon, and you chose the worst possible date location. Even if she WAS interested in you she wouldn't have been after due to situational factors. It was messed up for you to ask after, because you act as if you were willing to pay if the date went well, but then you basically set the date up for failure. So are you a dick? Yes. Would I have done the same? No, I would have asked before the date started. …

I like to use this: "What would James Bond do?" I would have looked over my shoulder, given her the up and down, smirked and shook my head ("No... You're not hot enough to do that and get my attention, sorry"), and continued on my way to talk to women instead of girls. If I happened to run into her later I'd use that as an opener and see how it went, but only after she got thrown off her game. You acted very beta... You played right into her hand and gave her exactly what she wanted. Edit: You'r…

My input: Only mention it IF you have your bike with you at the time. I use my track bike as a prop, it's usually in my garage in some state of disrepair, haha. When I get a girl over, I go in through the garage. Instant attraction builder, especially if she can sit on it and you can "show her how to work the controls". This can backfire badly if Daddy rode/rides a Harley, has talked to her about how evil sportbikes are, and you ride a sportbike. Or, as they usually think "Daddy rides a REAL mot…

No, there's nothing wrong with being direct. But being verbally direct (especially with ops "sweetie pie") sets off asd every time and can turn a sure thing into a crash and burn.

IMO you were already friendzoned before you went out, but even if you weren't, you definitely you lost her when you said "with benefits?". Never ever ever be direct (verbally anyway) about sexual things with a girl, especially a home schooled "sweetie pie". It's the same reason that you say "come over for a wine and a movie". You both know that means "let's get drunk and screw", but if you ask her that directly she's probably going to say no.
