Gotcha - I’ll continue to ask around but it seems my lawyer hasn’t done anything yet continues to bill me, while blaming it on the other lawyer. I’m disappointed in the system and forget the money just want my life back at this point

I appreciate this feedback. I wonder if I can ask you a follow up question on procedure?

Gotcha thanks for this. Guess we’re still gonna be waiting for at least a few more months

I agree with what you said. Feeling desperate because the other side is trying to extract maximum alimony (no kids) while simultaneously delaying any formal hearing with either no reply or senseless requests. Wondering if it will ever end versus feeling like my fair day in court would save me from getting fleeced and some dignity. Cost-wise though it’s hard to tell because legal fees would be enormous

I hear you. I’ve told my lawyer to press for this too, but the judge apparently just punts it back and says “figure it out among yourselves”

I’m sorry to hear about this tough and unfair situation. Wishing you the best, brother

Thanks - I asked my lawyer about this and he said I can’t serve by certified mail in a matrimonial case unless my spouse explicitly consents to it. Was that the same for you? Or does it vary by state perhaps?

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
