"She said my mother died 3 weeks ago and didn't want to hear it. She flipped out and slammed my laptop and other stuff. " That's a shocking lack of empathy right there. There's no way I'd be able to get over my mother passing in 3 weeks. Infact, I still haven't fully processed my grandmother passing, and it's been more than a year. She doesn't care much for your mental wellbeing judging from this. The majority of people everywhere could see that she's being unreasonabe.

Pressure may not be the right word in my opinion, but a lot of things do set the tone for men while growing up, so much so that most accept it as the norm. Take the countless tales children hear with the classic formula of a man who is usually a king or a prince having to rescue a woman who is usually a princess or queen. All in all, pressure might not be the word I'd use. But there is definitely an incentive that young men are being taught, the example I gave being one of them.

Depends on what type of beer it is, really. And other little things like the procedures and ingredients they used while brewing + fermenting, etc. Some go up all the way to 5$-8$ as well. Though I cannot exactly imagine an avarage restaurant serving fancy beers, in which case, yeah the 10$ price isn't worth it.
