Financial Responsibility isn't "alpha" apparently. That's probably the reason for your downvotes. TRP seems to have a circle-jerk around making money and spending it (nice car, nice pad, nice clothes, etc). There should be more posts about financial responsibility, especially geared towards those in their 20's.

Doing this exact thing. Saving as much as I can while waiting on the sidelines to pounce into the market. Then pick everything up for cheap. This might be odd, but all this turmoil is exciting. Instead of buying into materialism/consumerism, I plan on investing as much of it as possible so I can have an early retirement. Couldn't really give two shits about anything else at the moment. Save, self-improve to make more money, invest, retire.

How do you guys handle the work week when everyone in the office always goes out for drinks but you turn them down? I've been told this is a negative thing. I've shot down corporate social events, except for the ones that matter (holidays) or the ones that happen during the work hour. Most of my coworkers know that I'm the outdoorsy type like you OP. As an avid hiker, I can relate. My favorite hikes are the ones I go alone or with my dog. I only have to worry about myself and I go at my own pace. I've been lucky thus far, no injuries or crazy confrontations yet. Also, to anyone thinking about hiking, do it. It's a great experience and you're staying active.

I have a feeling that these rich kids who have inherited wealth these days won't do jack shit to preserve whatever legacies that were left for them. Just take a look at social media. No one is saying it isn't a great life. What people are saying is that it's not "easy" like you put it. Getting ripped... chit doesn't happen overnight. If your intent is just getting pussy then I don't even see a reason as to why you're in TRP to begin with. But again, I'm imposing my views on TRP as being a place for striving to be the best you can be (financially, physically, mentally).

It works. As bad as it sounds, when I know I'm talking to someone who's "inferior" than myself (intelligence, looks, physique), I generally have a +10 in confidence. Conversations flow smoother, jokes are funnier, etc. It's a psychological thing. If you treat the "hot" girls as "ugly" girls, you essentially strip them of their "value".
