You know the answer; that’s why you’re posting here. Hold strong :) don’t fall for the 3rd date propaganda. You can resist; you are worth more than this. Don’t give yourself away yet. He’s got to get to know you more; invest more in you emotionally etc. don’t do it (you will regret it!). It’s great you’re excited about this guy; hold onto that feeling. Focus it into something else for now - get to know him more; let him get to you more. Right now he’s trying to get access to your body - but; 3rd…

He doesn’t like it at all - he wants to be the initiator and he doesn’t like talking before sex; anything at all. I feel a bit stuck and want things to be better between us -

Would love; no money currently- we are 4 in a 1 bedroom apartment; saving to get a 2 bedroom one.

I have a 6 months baby; frequent night wakings and a toddler 3; no help; literally not an hour from family; I’m falling asleep sitting up on a daily basis. I don’t have the brain power or physical time to type out my situation without AI help. Thanks for your support.

Thanks; I think children’s rights are weirdly overlooked when it comes to surrogacy and IVF. It’s worth highlighting, even if a person is pro surrogacy and IVF, they should be aware it’s not just the future parents of the IVF/surrogate baby that have rights… it’s a big topic over at r/fourthwavewomen (will double check that sub name)

Which means - even though there were other viable ones, those embryos (or lives from certain Christian perspectives) were killed… it’s important for the OP to consider that if she is Christian. If you’re an atheist, then it doesn’t hold the same implications or problems… Edit: typos (have baby and toddler here) - viable embryos mean that non-viable ones are killed or murdered (if you’re pro/life or Christian).

There’s a level of attachment trauma that the baby will incur being separated from the surrogate - even if it is a biological child of the parents it’s going to - the baby will have known and be soothed by the surrogates heartbeat, voice etc. I don’t think this should be under estimated… It’s beautiful that the OP feels God has drawn her and her husband towards adoption, they are in a great financial position to do it too. OP had an incredible story and transformation; I hope she’ll be able to t…

Easy doesn’t mean ugly to many men - super conventionally pretty girls can be easy, and men know (like a 6th sense!) how to identify them. I’m not conventionally attractive, I have an asymmetrical face, largish nose but I’ve had a couple of marriage proposals and now I am married. I’d say, more than sexy, it’s about your energy; how do you make him feel - does he feel like a man? do you act like a woman or do you bring an egalitarian energy to things? etc. I was very hung up on my looks at your …
/r/RedPillWomen13/04/25 09:49 AM

He expresses desire for me, but not a strong desire. Before I was even pregnant, he said I was a bit fat but that even so, it was okay because it’s better than too thin. His type is high end lingerie model. I was maybe 60kg when he felt I was a bit fat; now I’m 66kg post-birth (gave birth 2 weeks ago). His favourite porn website publishes the weight and height of the models - 52kg etc.
/r/RedPillWomen19/01/25 11:18 AM

:( I wish he would consider that. He thinks there’s nothing wrong with it, even when I’m crying about it, when I’m telling him I can’t stand to breastfeed in front of him - (my swollen breasts vs the perfect breasts of porn), he is unrelenting about it. Because it means nothing to him, he thinks it should mean nothing to me. It’s so mind-bending. I don’t know how I’m supposed to keep the marriage healthy and create desire between us; when it’s all directed at porn, and any attempt I make to look…

Not at all. I also faced this decision until I met my husband. I began to consider being a single mother by choice because I wanted to be a mother more than anything and had tried for my entire 20s to do this (and was unlucky!). When I began to date outside of a. western culture and b. Liberal culture, I found men who loved children and actively wanted families. It’s so, so hard when you’re a traditional woman (but living in a society saturated in so called progressive values!) to find a man who…

I’m friends with all kinds of parents - we’re all just trying to make it through the tough times of parenting after all. I was more highlighting that if the traditional family structure is important to you, it’s worth considering how you’ll provide these values for your child/children in the absence of a father and the absence of a traditional household. Edit: and in your circumstances, it’s really unfair that your partner switch&baited you, especially when you were honest and clear about your w…

I think another aspect to consider, is that if the traditional values and family structure are important to you, how will you provide this for your planned child? As a single mom by choice, there won’t be a father modelling family and relationship dynamics to the child. The child won’t have a father and will be deprived of this (by choice). I understand that it’s a hard thing to hear but there is also a child at stake here, who ideally, needs a father and role model.

Absolutely. I had already learnt some of my husband’s language before I had met him, but being screen-free SAHM, with a toddler and baby, as soon as the day ends (when toddler is asleep at 7:30pm); I’m cleaning up; preparing for the next day and maybe I have time for a quick shower before there’s a wake up or husband and I fall asleep. When my kids are in school; I’ll be able to learn the language. Right now, time is limited sadly. I have no issue learning the language at all. Husband also works…

I suppose: I want to know how can I get my husband to see my point of view? If I let him go ahead, he’ll have FIL in the house overnight. I said if he does that I’ll go to a hotel with the kids… I don’t want it to get to that I suppose.
/r/RedPillWomen04/12/24 10:57 AM

He promised, after the last time FIL stayed, that once the baby is here, FIL will go to hotel. I think husband has a hard time trying to please everyone - me; toddler; baby and FIL. I pointed out FIL is a grown man; he can handle sleeping in a bed in a hotel. Husband worries because FIL doesn’t speak English that he’d be in a hotel without being able to communicate etc. but FIL is ex-army, I’m sure he’ll be fine ;) When we were first married, after I had my first son, husband thought it would be…

The thing is - although my FIL is caring, kind and supportive (he cooks for us whenever he is here etc.) - it’s making me dread visits from him. Especially this issue of now having to share the early 4am wake up situation.

I worry that I’m not accommodating my husband’s needs I suppose. His parents live in another part of Europe than us - 1.5 hour flight, not too long but still requiring travel. If I wake husband at 4am; we’d have no one there if our toddler wakes us. It’s such a mess. We’d all be tired, sleep deprived, all so FIL can stay in our house overnight rather than a hotel. If FIL stayed in a hotel he wouldn’t miss much, but it would mean our sleep isn’t disrupted and I can manage baby in the lounge. We’d…

I hope you find it helpful if you do go ahead with psychoanalysis. I’m dreaming of going back to my analyst again but currently a little time short with a toddler/and baby on the way!
/r/RedPillWomen02/11/24 08:28 PM
5

I imagine as you’re posting on here, you’re not looking for a super progressive TikTok kind of therapist. True psychoanalysis is intended to be apolitical, if your therapy journey is about self-discovery rather than finding coping mechanisms, I’d suggest finding a great psychoanalyst. They all offer sliding fees and there’s a robust consultation process - you’ll meet with a senior analyst who’ll decide what your needs are and place you with the right analyst for you.
/r/RedPillWomen02/11/24 08:08 PM

It’s a double edged sword I think. When I’ve not been interested in a man, it makes him work harder to get you - but there are some nasty men who just want the prize, and not the relationship so to speak. They’ll do everything they can to conquer you, and then move on. I’m also pretty easy going - it took me a long while to work out that men like to hunt/chase/compete and how to use that to my advantage romantically!
/r/RedPillWomen31/10/24 08:18 PM
3

I think it’s in the conception of the relationship - did you chase him/did he chase you? are you the prize he had to work for, or did you just fall at his feet? I think the effects of that linger - for better or worse - throughout a relationship. My grandparents had a deeply romantic 50 year marriage (ended as they both died). My grandad really had to impress my grandma to get her to agree to date him, marry him etc. She even left him at the alter the first turn they tried to get married because…

Aha! That’s very helpful and interesting. I’ve never heard the phrase before - it’s interesting in and of itself, but also very interesting to know how it’s used in RPW.
/r/RedPillWomen31/10/24 08:06 PM

The wife goggles isn’t my idea at all - it’s a general RPW women idea. I’m sure there’s someone here who’ll be able to provide a link (or quick search in the RPW sub will help you). Yeah! I made that mistake once or twice with the nerdy guys - they act very strangely when they are around hot women so to speak. You’ll find out when you introduce them to your friends, if they can keep their cool or not!

sorry to side track: could you explain the concept of pearl clutching? I’ve seen it a few times in this thread and I’m intrigued!
/r/RedPillWomen31/10/24 06:18 PM

exactly! you have options (if you’re a man with money); you’re used to attention and it’s not as interesting as something you cant obtain or buy easily.
/r/RedPillWomen31/10/24 06:16 PM

exactly - and all men have their fine points and their difficult points (like us women). I don’t brag about my husband full stop, it’s unfair to provoke envy and pain in others on purpose, but also, it would be a kind of declaration of insecurity on my part!
/r/RedPillWomen31/10/24 12:52 PM
3

I think thats the key part isn’t it - you wouldn’t post about it, because you don’t need other women to approve of your relationship/you don’t want to provoke envy in other women etc.

Before my husband, I had two LTRs with very attractive men (they’d been in magazines etc.), 6ft+, prominent in their field. These men were SURROUNDED by attractive women, so much so it became boring to them. I found that these men were the most loyal in terms of their constant attraction to me, they weren’t very interested in the gorgeous women flirting with them because they were fixated on me. I hadn’t wanted to date either of them initially, which is what caught their interest, as other women…

Yes - I think it’s much more about female competitiveness of having a better mate etc. than it is about male behaviour. I think most women know that most (not all) men notice attractive women (it’s nature and biology). Bragging about your husband not noticing, is about saying to other women ‘my husband is better than yours’. It’s the same kind of thing as women who post what their husband done for them on X special occasion or how they’ve never opened a car door or something. They’re trying to p…

Sounds delicious. I can take all the cooking classes I want but it won’t magically turn ethnic British cuisine into something that could compete with the great world cuisines. Luckily; I’ve learnt a lot from my in-laws in terms of cooking. I became aware of how much British food had become processed and unhealthy too.
/r/RedPillWomen24/10/24 07:17 AM
2

Of course though I as a British woman, from an ethnic British cuisine, I wouldn’t be able to make such foods. I can make an interpretation of them, but I wouldn’t be able to make them in the same way as the person whose culture it originally belongs to. My original point was - marrying my Eastern European husband, as a British woman, I was aware of the deficit in my cooking skills compared to the Eastern European women and the cuisine of the Baltic/Slavic countries. Serving him a random vindaloo…

Haha I’m also patriotic about it; I love fry ups and Lancashire hotpots, I don’t think however it competes with countries who have more fully developed cuisines! Of course the non ethnically British food in London is fabulous and we’re truly spoilt for choice!!
/r/RedPillWomen24/10/24 07:00 AM

I live in London too - we have fish & chips; the usual pub food and fry ups, it’s not really comparable to Slavic and Baltic cuisine… I cook British food now and again for my husband but he’d be horrified if that’s all I could cook…
/r/RedPillWomen23/10/24 10:31 PM
3

Exactly! British men don’t want, what they say they want - the don’t actually want women with a low body count, without a social media presence, a woman who stays home to cook and spend time with family vs going out/flirting with guys IRL and on social media. I was kind of rejected for being a ‘good girl’. My lack of sexual experience counted against me, until I dated outside of my British culture.
/r/RedPillWomen19/10/24 09:35 PM
2

European woman here with traditional values - low value men are a problem too (think games consoles, binge drinking, football over family etc.). British men are wildly unappealing if you want a family - you have to wait until they’re in their mid 30s, have slept with a bunch of women and then decide they want a wife and family, drawn out engagements, identity in work rather than in being a husband/father. This is why I, a British woman, married outside of my culture: I wanted a family, a wanted …
/r/RedPillWomen19/10/24 06:50 AM

He sounds like a lovely guy - congrats on finding such a British man! I understand his point about the combativeness of British women (who, from his generation, were indoctrinated with transatlantic identity politics!). There are women who revolt even at men opening doors for them!
/r/RedPillWomen19/10/24 06:49 AM
13

That’s what I found so frustrating about British men - I wanted a family and marriage from my 20s but these men don’t. In their 20s they want to sample all of the women out there, their identity isn’t rooted in becoming a father and husband (as it is for other cultures). I can’t imagine what’s it’s like to find a British husband now! I’m talking about 10 years ago or so.
/r/RedPillWomen18/10/24 06:51 AM
3

That’s true. It would be easier for the OP to stay here and meet men from more traditional and family oriented cultures than move abroad. I also wonder how old the OP is - when you’re very young, men really can mess you around, hinting at and promising marriage and families - promises that never manifest. The same men then marry 10 years later when they’re ready, despite the woman they messed around being ready etc.
/r/RedPillWomen18/10/24 06:50 AM
8

I’m already married - I was replying to the other British woman who implied it was odd that the OP had trouble finding a British man who wanted marriage, housewife etc.
/r/RedPillWomen17/10/24 09:02 PM
17

It’s not a bizarre question at all. I’m a British woman and found that British men are like Peter Pans! They have their game consoles, their binge drinking, and their identity is wrapped up in career vs an identity of being a good husband/provider. I’d say you were very lucky to find a British man who supports you being a housewife! Edit: I didn’t find many men who wanted to have a family and settle down. If you want a large family too, you’ll need to start sooner rather than later. Not worth wa…

Also British and from the Uk - can confirm that it’s unusual that British men want housewives (or marriage/kids). They settle down later and later! I swapped to dating men from Baltic and Eastern European cultures and found my husband. They are far more family-focused - less focused on what identity their job gives them and more focused on the identity they have in being fathers/husbands who provide. I hope that helps! I would say that they do expect you can cook (or are willing to learn!). As B…

I had an emergency c section with my first baby; my husband - who works in a tough blue collar job - did the night shift every night for 6 months until he felt I had recovered from the operation. He wouldn’t let me (in a loving way) hold our baby at night; he wanted me to be rested for my recovery and so I could be a great mother to our baby (who had the habit of starting the day at 4am for a year or so!). Seeing his patience with the baby, every night for all of the months and how he went to wo…

I like how psychoanalyst and social worker Erica Komisor describes it: you can have everything, just not at once. Meaning, you can have a season of being a SAHM and when the children are old enough, you can begin a career. This trajectory is also described by the idea of the Maiden, Mother and Matriarch. I think it’s Louise Perry who talks about the different epochs of a woman’s life and how we’re sort of falsely encouraged to stay in the Maiden era (a little off topic there from your post). It …

Yes! I don’t hesitate to say no to ridiculous commitments, simply because with being pregnant, having a toddler and keeping a house, I don’t have time. It’s improved my life massively! Before I had a whole bunch of ‘friends’ I’d see who’d just use me as a defacto therapist, talk about themselves, split the bill with them (they drink, I don’t) and leave! No way l’d do that now: that money is for my baby and toddler, that fine is for my husband, myself and our kids!

The part about cars made me laugh. Today my 2.5 year old son probably spoke to me about bus air vents around - no exaggeration - 100 times. You’re definitely getting good practice!!

I think for me it’s the other way round! Motherhood has made me more patient and more compassionate. I look at all other adults as ‘once somebody’s baby’. This attitude definitely carries over into my marriage - I find I am reminded more and more of the vulnerability of my husband, who was once a boy, now a man. I think of all the little trials he went through, of having to give up the bottle, or co-sleeping, or the first day at school.

By Red pill men do you mean men who are more alpha and assertive, or do you literally mean men who follow the RedPill movement (those men are not looking to protect and provide for you… I’d watch out). If you mean ordinary, reasonable hard working men who aspire to a long term relationship and family, then I think there’s no problem in you initiating the conversation. I was the one who said hello to my husband first - in his language (it was the only word I knew haha). From there, he pursued me.…

This is more or less what I said to him recently. Before I had a baby, he fed himself and managed money, cleaned the house just fine… and suddenly now I do all of that AND care for a baby. I look awful all of the time because I don’t have time to look pretty and care for myself trying to do all of this other stuff. You must be exhausted. Recovering from birth and caring for a newborn and trying to meet your husband’s sexual needs. I wonder if you’ve spoken to him about it? Does he know you’re not fully healed? Does he know how exhausted you’re feeling without having to take care of his sexual needs? Have you asked him for support with the baby so you can feel more rested? I imagine if you approved of the choices your brother was making, you wouldn’t need to ask for advice on how to connect with your new SIL. As you disapprove, you’re finding it hard to connect - I imagine she’ll feel this from you however hard you try to hide it. Perhaps the important thing here is to try and focus your energy back on yourself rather than what your brother is choosing to do or not do. I have proposed it calmly, I’ll propose it once more. Unfortunately our apartment is so tiny (1 bedroom - toddler sleeps in our room, and soon to be baby will too) that we don’t have storage. Did you mean external storage? Oddly, I think if I said to my husband I will pay for a storage unit (he’s the sole provider) then he’d be much happier with me donating the clothes, than paying to keep them! Perhaps if I said this kindly, as if it was the best idea, he’d be in agreement?

This is what I was contemplating too - the arguments we’ve had over this pile of clothes, the time spent worrying, the time I’d need to spend ironing, photographing, posting, seems hardly worth it. There’s a charity that I’d love to donate to that helps children who have terminal illnesses fulfil their wishes. I’d rather the result of a shopping addiction of his ex wife and the good fortune of my own healthy children (their baby clothes) help somebody else. I’m worried that my husband will feel …

It’s horrible when you discover something like this isn’t it? He seems to be interested in genres that eroticise breaking family/generational boundaries - that’s quite concerning. It’s a little more niche than the average. Your gut instinct is important here. It might be useful for you to read or look into Gavin de Becker and his book ‘The Gift of Fear’. He highlights repeatedly that women are been taught to override that creeping; nervous; fearful feeling and rationalise it away but it’s the ve…

This is an odd way to filter men… my husband cannot change a tire because he didn’t have a car until his 30s. He didn’t need a car on account of living in a very well connected 24 hour city. He is a provider; works in a very masculine job - is a pretty dominant guy. The car tire change isn’t the litmus test you’re looking for. What are your general requirements of a man; how do you meet the general requirements of most men?

Someone women have success with chest exercises; building the chest muscles somewhat lifts the breasts but not dramatically. Exercise however decreases body fat which might contribute to further sagging … a lot of fitness influencers have secret breast implants or surgery to hide the fact or because they are embarrassed by not having large breasts despite their petite frames etc.

I think most ordinary housewives probably don’t have time to create social media accounts and film/curate their day to day life / especially if they have kids! I always find it odd and curious that these women seem to have time to edit and film videos - I’m a SAHM, on some days I barley have a chance to shower (think teething toddler; waking every 30 mins :,) !)

There’s one or two on TikTok but as recent criticism of the tradwife/RP life highlights, housewives in general do not have time to film/edit TikToks or social media contributions (be aware of hidden help with non-disclosed nannies etc.)…. there’s also something alarming about showcasing one’s child on social media! Edit: I wanted to add, being screen-free is controversial because using screens is very common, despite it not being great for children (WHO recommends no screens before age of 2). Ho…

This might be a controversial take - but as a British woman, and mother/SAHM, I find the most reliable RP women, almost accidentally RP women, are the screen-free mothers. I generally find where U.K. mothers choose to use screens, something else is sacrificed at the expense of the child, so you have an illusion of what being an RP woman is. Keeping a tidy home; looking great 24/7 isn’t realistic as a SAHM (which I believe is the goal of the RP woman). So, be kind to your future self, and watch t…

This probably is going to get downvoted but I’d bet that the boss babes have a higher disposable income than women who’ve always aimed at being a tradwife and who’ve occupied traditional female jobs in society (which are often low paid). A boss babe with her disposable income is going to look better; she has more money to spend on a healthy diet; gym membership; tweekments; sauna; facials, nails. Men are attracted by the glossy exterior - they can’t help it. It’s hard to compete with women who h…

I know… but I suspect he’s very busy with work, his work load has just doubled recently (quite literally; he now manages 2 projects instead of one). I think I will talk with him about the gift ahead of my next birthday. I sent a list of ideas, he asked for, but perhaps the list was too limited - I assumed he would buy me jewellery (as he usually does!) so didn’t want to include lots of expensive or luxurious things. He’s a very generous husband; if I said I wanted to take a luxury spa day as my …
/r/RedPillWomen30/11/23 04:04 AM

He’s very attentive and caring; he’s truly a provider type but gift giving isn’t his forte at the moment. He definitely has a lot of work stress. I might say thank you for the gift but also explain, humorously, that it’s a gift much more for him? I don’t want a long marriage of bad gifts… I thought also, I could buy my gifts, wrap them, and he can give them to me - to take the stress out of buying them?
/r/RedPillWomen30/11/23 03:45 AM

He used to buy me more thoughtful things (jewellery; AirPods; lovely trainers; a trip) but has slowly declined in thoughtfulness (he didn’t buy a Mother’s Day gift this year - it was my first Mother’s Day). The lingerie will be my only gift this year. Although I am a SAHM, I don’t see that I am not contributing, I am raising our children, rather than them being raised by strangers so to speak (I know not everyone has the privilege of avoiding childcare). We are a team; he earns the money so I ca…

I’m frustrated that he asked for a list of ideas a month ago, hasn’t used the list - and bought some cheap lingerie on his lunch break. Is there no way I can guide him towards being a better gift giver? He has previously bought lovely gifts; when dating - expensive jewellery, AirPods; etc. Edit: is there a possibility that he felt boxed in by the list (he asked for)?

I think it’s important to remember that the average age of marriage and kids is going up; especially in cities. In the part of London I live in, most people marry after 35! They’re all career minded middle class people, most pregnancies are IVF. Those men have the option of marrying younger but they don’t - they probably seek the younger women for casual sex but not marriage (from my observation). I don’t think you should write yourself off at 29! Also, a lot of men talking about age and marriag…

I have a similar childhood - my mother saw illness as weakness! What I try to do is imitate however my husband cares for me: make me soup from scratch; bring me meds; handle the bedtimes for our toddler; make me endless hot drinks etc. That’s all I have to go on, is trying to imitate how he cares for me. I’d love to be like the Ina Garten Chicken Soup Ever Loving Fairy Godmother but I’m not; I have to learn it. Oth

I absolutely sympathise! My husband is also a man of very, very few words haha - a man’s man. I’m extremely chatty and talkative and connect through talking. We had to agree, after a fair few mini arguments, that I would speak more succinctly and that we’d have a window to chat. It might help to keep in mind that men are objective focused when talking and women are more exploratory/seeking to connect. My husband also works in a male dominated environment so it compounds his communication style a…

I think you’re describing nurturing behaviour, not mothering. I wonder what is making you think it’s a negative thing in your relationship? is there something you’d like to achieve in your relationship that isn’t happening and perhaps you’re blaming yourself for being mothering when it could be something else?

Be aware that the OP has agreement that her husband sees younger sugar babies at least once a year. Their relationship is somewhat balanced upon his allowed additional sexual partners and her monogamy. OP didn’t include this in the post.

I can’t imagine there are many provider men who would forgoe having children. And even if you secured this kind of relationship, things could change - he could change his mind and want kids, could cheat and get the other women pregnant. Have you explored what it is about having kids that you don’t like? What was your mother’s experience; did you see an exhausted and under appreciated women, and don’t want that to be your fate? Edit: you could find a provider who has already had kids. Then you kn…

If you already know the affluent man (perhaps from social circles, friends, even work) if he knows of you, he knows enough to want to invest in a date with you. If he’s just blind meeting you from a dating app, it’s maybe harder for him to spend the money when there are so many low value promiscuous non-traditional women. If you blind meet him from an app, I think it’s more reasonable to expect a ‘checking each other out date or two’ and then when he knows enough, if he’s interested expect to se…

You’re welcome; but I’m no expert. You could contact any women’s rights organisation for more tailored advice about this; or a children’s rights organisation. It’s all a bit unfair on you this stress isn’t it; all because he suddenly wants to play being a tradman with a tradwife (when he could have just been a decent husband to begin with!), no conversion to popular alternative internet movement needed ;).

The court will do what’s best for your daughter, not you or your husband. As you’ve been her primary caregiver and you were the one who was abandoned, you have the advantage here. Your ex husband’s minimal contributions up until now works in your favour too. Be confident in what you’ve already achieved for your daughter - your husband has demonstrated being impulsive/selfish, willing to break up a marriage over an affair, abandon his daughter and not provide generous support for you (his daughte…

It’s interesting that arranged marriages have the lowest divorce rate, it’s theorised because - cultural and religious reasons accounted for - the couple didn’t get married based on the idea of falling in love, they both accept they have to work at love… I think that’s it, isn’t it? We’re missing the idea of both people working at love? Perhaps since love became more secular, there isn’t an overarching or guiding principle for marriage?

I think the risk is, you leave without realising how you contributed to the ongoing low level dysfunction (assuming there is no abuse/serial cheating/addiction) and then starting a new relationship only for the same problems to occur once the infatuation and idealisation phase wears out. It’s also been made normal and easy to dispose of people rather than try and work through things - however hard and long it might take.

I think the resent is that I didn’t realise he was so rigid - I thought he was like the average man who likes any healthy normal looking woman from thin to curvy. He holds the 2000s lingerie model as a firm measure of beauty - despite not knowing or understanding that it’s not obtainable for most women, and it requires an extreme lifestyle to look like a VS model!

It was actually before birth; he said I was a little bit fat but that it’s better than being too thin. His family also referred to me a chubby. It was all very puzzling to me as I’ve always had quite opposite comments from others about how they wish they could stay slim like me etc. I also look slim, even with weight gain. His ideal is firmly in the 2000s peak thin era.

I suppose the difference is, is that I don’t watch videos of yacht vacations every day or mansions etc. I’m sure he’d feel as insecure as I feel, if I did that. I so loathe the effect of porn sometimes but equally I’ve had a boyfriend in the past who was particularly attached to a previous idealised girlfriend - so I can really say it’s porn. I would love a link to that post please :)

Thanks for your comment; he does seem to be quite invested in porn - and I see it’s given him a ridiculous idea of what women’s bodies should look like, he isn’t able to separate the image from reality, and seems unaware of the lighting etc. as well as the lifestyle required for the maintenance of such appearances. I suppose it’s all the more painful post-birth. I was formerly a 52-54kg girl throughout my 20s; healthy lifestyle etc. I think you’re right, even if he met me then, it still wouldn’t…

Thank you for the religious perspective - we are both Christian, so it helps a lot. Thank you for offering a framework out for this self-pitying too! I have started to feel resentful and withdrawn that I can’t be his dream girl. He isn’t the most tactful husband, partly due to his culture - he is Eastern European and very blunt. Which I love and also loathe depending!

Yes to all of the above. He said I am a little bit fat, he definitely looks at thinner women than me online and IRL, we have a lot of sex! I literally don’t have the genetics to be his type; even if I lose the last kgs. I feel like it’s making me sad and resentful and unable to appreciate him.

Thanks so much. The thing is he tells me he likes how I look, we have sex frequently but I know I am not his type and this lowers my value. I couldn’t be his type even if I lost the extra kg. I have a Grace Kelly type of figure; not the lingerie model curves in the right places figure. It’s such an acute pain not to be his type/his number 1, but I want to look my best and make the marriage work. I am annoyed with myself for not realising sooner that he has a fantasy woman/ideal and doesn’t love …

I wish I could feel confident; knowing that my husband prefers other types of women makes me feel like it’s pointless trying because I’ll never be ‘hot’ in his eyes. I just want my husband to think I’m number 1; not some fantasy women. How did you get yourself through it; through not being your husband’s type? Did you have a similar reaction to me? I wish I had your strong mindset!

Same; I think it’s pedantic. He likes women with narrow skeletons, so their weight is nicely distributed on hips/thighs/breasts and they don’t actually seem as thin as they would without the genetic lottery fat deposits! . I have a more moderate skeleton and if I go down to 50kg, I’ll have visible ribs/hip bones. I also don’t want to ignore his physical preferences at the same time… and I want to be valuable to him - and being thinner would equate in being more valuable. I’ve been reluctant to g…
