leave as soon as you can. that is not a man you want as a partner, future husband, future father of your children. I would not want to build a life with a man like that!! as a stranger on the internet, I vote you deserve so much more!

I don’t have any advice for you, but I think it’s worth noting that you even recognize this is happening in your life. I think you’ve already taken the first step to bettering this situation by recognizing it’s a problem! Remember to give yourself some grace - mothers and wives face this all the time. You’re not alone 🩷

this is the perfect response. I think it's important to show your husband you can take care of yourself and you can do things you enjoy without him. but then you can also communicate how much better it would be if he was there too spending time with his family.

I agree with other users that it depends on your lifestyle and his income. However, a good way to determine an allowance would be to look at your current monthly spending on "extras". However much you spend on clothing, fun coffee drinks, books, makeup, etc., NOW would be a good indicator of how much you will need! Best of luck to you!

This is a very valid concern! Given his financial circumstances, maybe suggest he plan free dates? There are so many unique things to do without spending money, especially depending on your location. But this is something I would definitely bring up with a SO, because he may not know it’s truly bothering you. Communication is something I’m working on with my boyfriend, and I’ve found the more honest I am (without being too aggressive), the better our relationship has been!!

I believe any career can be “feminine” if you bring feminine qualities and a feminine attitude to it! For example, I work for a VERY large pharmaceutical company in which I primarily have a desk job. I decorated my desk with photos of friends and family, I brought in cute organizers and a pink mousepad, and I have a communal snack drawer for my coworkers at my desk! I also provide candy every week, and I leave encouraging notes for coworkers each week. In addition to that, I try to exude feminin…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
