I can’t comment on The Notebook because I saw it once years ago and barely remember it other than the ending being heartbreaking…. Much of An Officer and a Gentleman is really just about a man trying to overcome the trauma of horrible abuse from his father and a lack of genuine love when he needed it most. The eventual “sweeping off her feet” moment is a product of him learning that he was a man worthy of love. She played a part, but so did a lot of others. I’d argue that Gatsby is only in love …

“But it's also very important to learn to be nice. Being a good, kind person with positive energy and who is fun to be around makes a world of difference.” This, but also make sure you are being nice and positive and kind because you wish to be a better person who attracts nice, positive, and kind people to them genuinely. Doing “nice” things for someone as a tool to win the affections of others is disingenuous, and agenda stinks like poo on a shoe.
